Huge cigar burn in the comforter.
    Nina W.

First of all, if you are from out of town and are looking for a cheap motel, DON'T STAY ANYWHERE ON TIMBERLAND. You will constantly feel like you're in danger. Now for my review of this place in particular. I knew I was going to be staying at a cheap motel and I understand what type of room usually comes with that. This place, however, is far below my expectations of a place like Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn. There are cigarette burns in EVERYTHING. Some burns even look like huge cigar burns. There are burns in the carpet, the comforters, the pillow cases, and the sheets. I asked for a non-smoking room and the place still smelled terribly like smoke. The air conditioner absolutely sucks. Even if you turn the knob slightly, your only options are to freeze to death or sweat your face off. My room began to stink like mildew for days because the air conditioner was leaking all over the carpet. What goes on in the parking lot absolutely blows my mind. People will get in their car and rev their engine for HOURS AND HOURS in the middle of the night without being told to stop. People will scream at each other from the balcony or get in fights in the parking lot. They'll blast music from their cars with heavy bass at 2 AM on a weeknight and there is literally NOBODY to make them shut up. This motel would benefit tremendously from hiring security or giving two craps about their guests.

There's fresh-fruit-flavored cold water, big chocolate chip cookies, and a cappuccino machine by check in counter. The reception area, hallways, & bedrooms are clean. The only drawback is the small gym with limited equipment & no hand weights. You can do cardio, but impossible to do proper strength training with what they have. We had 2-queen bedrooms. NO CONNECTING ROOMs, although it's noted to be available online. Our bedroom & bathroom were reasonably spacious & stocked with basic toiletries. We really liked the breakfast options. Although the dining room is small, they have more variety of breakfast totems than most places (even the more expensive ones). Here are the list of their breakfast choices: - hot items: pancake-covered sausage on a stick, scrambled eggs, mini sausages, biscuit & gravy, Texas-shaped Belgian waffle (you make it on site with a waffle maker) - continental: bread, bagels, prepackaged cinnamon rolls, prepackaged cheese pastry, breakfast bars, prepackaged blueberry muffins. - fresh fruit: apples, clementines, bananas, blueberries - others: yogurt, oatmeal, 3 types of cereals, peanut butter, jellies, chocolate chips, butter - drinks: coffee, milk, non-dairy milk, OJ, apple juice.

Friendly staff, comfortable, clean rooms. I would stay here again. Enjoyed the 2 bedroom feature.read more

First our Bathroom door wouldn't shut. The door was too big for the frame. As we've actually experience in a lot of other Marriotts that are older the sink is so far back on the counter I basically have to lean over and throw the water at my face to wash it, then it gets water all over the counter it's actually pretty comical. Overall it suited our purposes for a quick overnight here for family but other than that it wasn't our best Marriott stay. I will say all though it wasn't our worst. It wasn't 1 star but not sure I could give it more than 3 stars although it's likely more like a 2.5 The other thing is we got a room right next to the elevator and the walls at so thin here you can hear every footstep and ever single ding. I'm a light sleeper and so it didn't particularly makes for a nice night of sleep. You can also hear every single creak in this hotel, probably because it is rather old in death the lipstick they slathered on it. I will give it this, it was clean, and the beds were fairly comfortable but the pillows were horrible (but we've experienced bad pillows at almost every courtyard so this is probably a corporate thing.)

TERRIBLE hotel. They CHARGE YOU for THEIR failures. Wifi in…read moreroom was unusable, taking 3-5 minutes to load each page. I told the front desk that I would have to leave the next day for another hotel if the wifi I paid for doesn't work. He agreed. Then when I checked out the next day they charged me for early checkout. The attendant got combative and sarcastic when I said I wouldn't be paying any fees when it's THEIR fault, asking her about the sign on the wall regarding their apparently BOGUS "Satisfaction Guaranteed" sign, and she said "what, the sign that we're certified" talking about a completely different sign, when she knew better. She then said "all the sign means is that we try hard" which is ABSURD. WORDS MEAN THINGS and that's NOT what "GUARANTEE" MEANS. She then said she doesn't have the authority to remove the extra charge. If so then SHE SHOULDN'T BE THE ONLY ONE WORKING THERE. A hotel SHOULD NEVER BE LEFT UNSTAFFED. If there is NO ONE ON PREMISIS with the authority TO DO BUSINESS, then you SHOULDN'T BE IN BUSINESS. When calling the manager to have the charge removed, the manager was ugly to my representative and lied, claiming they "were unable to remove the charge" which resulted in wasted time getting with Expedia to remove it, thinking it was theirs. They told us it had nothing to do with them. So it was a LIE that they were "UNABLE" to remove the charge. They were UNWILLING to remove the charge. Again, WORDS MEAN THINGS. After being told that no, it WASN'T Expedia's charge it was THEIR charge, the woman said yes, they refuse to refund it because I was offered internet access in the "business room". SO WHAT???? If there was no running water in my room, it's NOT OK to say "well, we offered him to take a shower in front of everyone in the lobby". No, I PAID FOR INTERNET IN MY ROOM, for me to take care of my business while simultaneously doing other things in my own room. I DID NOT GET WHAT I PAID FOR and you WILL NOT charge me for YOUR failure.

The breakfast was WAY better than the place we stayed at the prior nights in Dallas. They don't always have the same things we were told but they had sausage links, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, biscuits, biscuit gravy, make your own waffles with fruit, yoghurt, oatmeal, cereal, ham slices, bagels, a ton of bread, and a wide selection of fruit juices. They also have a pretty good selection of frozen dinners and snacks that you can buy at the front office. The staff was also super courteous during our stay. The only things I can see that could annoy picky people: 1. Our AC emitted a small sound, but we didn't care because we were really tired and the beds were comfortable. Didn't bother us at all. 2. Guy in the morning power washes off dirt in the parking lot. He sprayed some mud onto the truck we came in. We weren't really bothered since it rained soon after and that washed it off. Some areas he didn't wash too well and if you stepped onto some mud, it was super slippery. Overall, great place and we would definitely come here again if we visit the area.

Pluses are the friendly front desk, the complimentary hot breakfast, the warm beds, spacious rooms, and plenty of parking. Also they make you sign a waiver indicating you'll be charged if you have to change your reservation in less than 48 hrs notice once you check in. Fortunately I did not have this issue during my stays here but if you're here on business, you'll want to consider these circumstances should your assignment change and you have to check out earlier than you wanted to. The hotel does what it needs to do so no complaints for me. Although if there are better hotel options such as the Hampton or the soon-to-be Fairfield Inn coming, I'd go with those.
