This former LaQuinta is now a Motel 6. DO NOT STAY HERE. The first room we were given was dirty...chunky stuff in bathtub level dirty. We asked to switch rooms immediately. The next room had a stained bathtub...but better than the first room. But there were also holes in the walls, duct tape in vanity area, stained curtains and walls, and dirty floors. The Motel6 corporate website and phone number were useless. No effective way to file a complaint. I am not a neat freak...this place was just gross. Never again. Update: After 8pm some stranger was pounding on our door. We said, "we don't know you and are not opening the door!" Then we packed up, was refused a refund by the front desk, but was able to cancel our second night. Found another much nicer location a few miles away in Glendale. will request a refund for our first night from Motel6 corporate...if we can ever figure out how to reach a human being. read more

Considering the cost and other options available, this is not where you want to stay if you don't have to. The Good. The room seems relatively clean. The air conditioner works well and it's 100F tonight. It has a desk in the room, a mini refrigerator and it doesn't smell like smoke. THE BAD The check in and check out desk staff are slow. While checking in, a couple of guests have been involved in some kind of situation involving the police. One guest was complaining that her room had all kinds of issues making it unusable, the staff just kept saying, "I won't have a maintenance person until tomorrow". This guest and staff went back and forth until they finally agreed to give her a different room. She had just checked in. When checking out, there was a line at the desk. The staff person heard some commotion coming from outside and left the desk to go to the door to watch, then came back with a gleeful smile on her face saying, "I have to check to see what's going on". No WIFI password was provided. The initial experience with the front desk was so bad, I didn't waste me time going back to ask for it. The light switch in the room at the door turns on the TV power but not the lights. The room was pitch black, a major hazard. I had to go back to the front desk to ask how to turn on the lights. They sent a non-English speaking security guard to show me how to turn on the lights. The room lights are tiny little inconspicuous black switches no one could easily find. (I tried before I went down stairs to the front desk). It's next to a rail road and trains pass by multiple times during the night and morning. The mini refrigerator looked clean but mades a strange sticky sound when opened. The bath tub shower enamel is worn out and the plumbing looks broken. (It function fine) The room had 1 roll of toilet paper and one towel. The people staying at this motel are sketchy looking. There were people walking up and down the walk ways all night, people hanging outside the rooms talking, men and women screaming at each other, next door a man continually pounded something in his room while yelling. There was prostitution going on in the parking area. There are no luggage Carts, you have to carry everything to your room up a flight of stairs. Don't risk leaving anything in your car here. The noise, car alarms, people yelling and fighting continued until around 5 AM. I only got 5 hours of sleep during a 15 hour stay. Total waste of my money and time and I ended up having to pull off the road to sleep twice after checking out, because I was so sleepy. I don't recommend this place to anyone, ever. I needed a place to stay because I can't currently drive at night. As a Wyndham member, I made my decision based on their available motels in the area and their ratings. Very good price and very friendly staff. The location is very good, and next door is a Denny's and Starbucks. That's pretty much the best parts of staying here. I booked 4 nights here for 200 bucks, and I thought it was a great deal from the bookings_com website. But upon arriving, I felt very unsafe. There were 2 women sitting on the curb under the check-in awning, and they looked to have alterior motives and stood up as I walked up. Once I walked inside to check in, the clerk was super friendly , and my fears went away. I paid my deposit, took my digital key, and went back to my car. The 2 women were gone. I looked around and didn't see them anymore, not even around the corner. Weird. My room was near the street facing Starbucks, so I parked the car and started to unload. In the distance, I could see homeless people 10 rooms over to the left. Some were sitting on the curb, some by the fence, and some at the bus stop. They seemed to be eyeing me, so my comfort level dropped to an all-time low. Once inside, the strong smell of cigarettes hit me, and I could see why the price was so low. The bed sheets looked stained, and the room looked like they hadn't cleaned it in years, and if they did, they tried to hide its past. The bathroom was so tight that I had to wiggle around the door to close it behind me. The bathtub was chipping away, and you could see the gray undertone on the floor and the sides of the tub. Shower curtain yellowish and unscrubbed walls. I had a conjoined room and could hear the neighbors so clearly that it sounded like they were in the room with me. 4-5 people next door talking loudly. It was so cold inside, as the AC was running as I walked inside. The hotel is next to the I-17 freeway, so you can hear the cars pass by. All night, I could hear it so clearly. The loud revving of engines, the sirens, the racing, and the people talking outside. I kept checking the peephole on the door because it sounded like they were right outside my door, but they weren't. I may have booked 4 nights, but I didn't stay 4 nights. I checked out the 1st night and didn't plan on coming back. It's too risky to stay here, and I would not recommend it unless you're on a tight budget and don't mind the sounds of the city. La Quinta was the only hotel within the stadium driving distance that still had room. It was DISGUSTING. Would have rather stayed in our rental car. - it is in a sketchy area with homeless peoples everywhere -the outside of the hotel smells like feces - the room smelled musty and dirty like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile -holes in the room And on Monday 20th we noticed COCKROACHES. We checked out ASAP and I called to complain and spoke with the front desk manager who said they could not provide a full refund because we didn't report it sooner and let them fix it? How was I supposed to know I would find cockroaches???? Were you going to put us in an equally gross room?? And we didn't even notice the f*cling cockroaches till the morning we were leaving. I booked this with plenty of time and talked my kids into booking the same place for my son's graduation tomorrow from University of Phoenix at Chase Field. Tonight they get there and the La Quinta over booked and are not helping as I think they should be. I've been on hold 15 minutes and the guy says he's checking. Dangerous - person with gun and pit bull exchanging items with people in hall, someone smoking a very smelly substance in an unusual looking metal pipe, graffiti everywhere, filthy rooms (cockroaches, mold and stains in bathroom, door did not close properly, no covers on electrical plugs, window curtains would not shut, and the list goes on). AC sounds like a dying construction site, walls are filthy, zero security despite rampant drug dealing homeless problem, shower doesn't work, tub doesn't drain, beds are mousetraps covered with toilet paper, and staff is a bunch of assholes who don't give a shit but why should they? this is not a place that instills any kind of pride. I rented a room for my daughter who lives in Phoenix because her hot water was out at her apartment. Like a scene from a very bad movie...there was blood all over the dust ruffle and a bullet hole on the curtain that still had blood and particulate matter on it. This is just flat disgusting. Had a decent stay. Front staff is friendly. Room isn't the cleanest. There were stains on the walls and the light switches. Towels had a couple hairs in them. Beds were clean and comfortable. Due to COVID, breakfast is to-go and includes a juice cup and muffin. Could hear noise outside until around midnight, but after that it was pretty quiet, even though you're next to a highway. Dogs stay free. Right next to a Denny's and Starbucks. Make sure to take ALL your belongings in with you at night from your vehicle. A car was broken into overnight even though there was a security guard walking around. I wouldn't say he was avidly checking the surroundings, so don't let your guard down. The lamp shades are cracked and discolored, the walls are chipped, the floorboards are cracked, there are bugs crawling around like landlords, stains on the curtains and floor, and it smells like smoke. The door doesn't shut all the way so I may be murdered by the time you read this review. There's a suspicious red stain on the carpet and the tiles are separating in the bathroom. My mother is wrestling with the decision of laying a towel on the bathtub floor to shower or leave here smelling like dirty hooker smoke. Bleach has never entered that bathroom. Just save your money and sleep in your car. The people here are very nice. UPDATE: A baby roach tried to crawl in my mother's ear in her sleep. I was hoping to be able to write a positive review. Sadly, that is NOT the case. From start to finish my stay at this location was not pleasant at all. The 1st room had a malfunctioning tv that would not turn off or change channels, the grout in the bathroom was dirty, plus there is graffiti all over the posts outside the room. We were given a 2nd room. This room was not even stocked or made up. Return to the office again. Given 3rd room which we accepted. Again, nasty grout in the tub and very poor water pressure on the toilet. Not to mention the continuing malfunction of our key card resulting in not being able to get back in the room without visiting the office. And to further the criticisms, there was no room Wi-Fi (no room Wi-Fi in this day of age????) and the breakfast consisted of ONLY waffle batter and an apple juice/ orange juice machine. The line for the waffle maker was ridiculously long and had very questionable characters using it. I asked about coffee. They don't do coffee since there is a subpar coffee maker in the room. I might add the machine did not work!!! The appearance of the hotel was very run down. Trash everywhere in the parking lot (cigarette butts, fast food trash, etc), graffiti on several surfaces and just generally dirty. I have always expected to be well taken care of when i book a wyndham motel. This visit is the 2nd time wyndham has let me down. Wyndham resorts will not be my first motel of choice from now on. Let's start with our room was infested with roaches. They were crawling all over the bathroom floor, walls, toilet seat, floor, everywhere!! As you first drive off the freeway you'll notice the area isn't THAT great. When we parked we immediately were approached by a man who appeared to be on drugs, possibly homeless and he asked if we wanted to buy weed... we declined. Lots of trash surrounding the motel. This was rated as 2.5 stars! There was no sign outside but a QR code on the check in counter said it was Motel 6. Can a hotel be rated at less than 1 Star. I was genuinely terrified here. It is absolutely disgusting, check in was appalling, the room was beyond trashed with who knows what human fluids were up the walls, on the floor, on the bedspreads and on counters. I did not want to touch anything. There is a sticker on the door stating "for YOUR protection, deadlock the door". Outside, homeless people going through trash, armed police at reception, men taking prostitutes into the room in the middle of the afternoon, lots of shady looking activity taking place and vehicles being towed. Do not make reservations here. After driving 6 hours (made reservations months ago) I arrived to learn that the hotel was intentionally overbooked and they had no rooms left. The front desk agent literally said the hotel overbooks on purpose as then tend to have no shows so It happens all the time. (Their words not mine) Literally 10 families waiting in the lobby to check in and there were no rooms. I booked directly with Wyndham La Quinta online not through a third party but it didn't matter. First off, If I could give this place a -10 I would. Giving it a 1 star is really way to much. I had booked 2 rooms because my daughter is graduating from college. When we arrived to the hotel, I went inside to check in. Only 1 man working behind the counter. I asked for rooms next to each other and for them to be non-smoking. What I was given was 2 rooms 2 doors away. Ok that will work. When we went into our room, our room was completely dirty, the smell of cigarettes wreaked and literally there was no curtain on our window. So who ever walked by you could see us sleeping. After trying to call the front desk several times, my husband and I decided to walk up to the front desk. I was advised that they do not have any curtains to put over the window but was handed a old stained comforter and a office stapler and was told I could put that up for now. So we did. Then once we were in to settle down and go to sleep, the room directly up above us kept pacing back and forth to what sounded like a dance party. This went on for over 3 hours. I told the front desk several times and on the last time I was told there was nothing that could be done. It is now 4:10am and I am wide awake. I will NEVER stay here again nor will I EVER recommend this place to ANYONE! It is dirty, run down, walls and ceilings are thin and they do not have the proper amount of help here to cover issues. The second room we rented also wreaked of cigarettes and my daughter said that she saw cockroaches in the room. When I went down to the office to talk to the manager on duty, she was immediately on the defense and was yelling at me telling me to calm down. I barely had started to tell her what has happened and she started yelling at me telling me to calm down. Then she yelled at me in front of her co-worker and customers and told me she was done with me and went into her office. I walked to her office door and she continued to yell and be disrespectful telling me to get out. I had another question as to when the General Manager would be in. She refused to answer me and jumped out of her chair in a threatening manor as if she was coming at me. I then asked her if she was coming at me and she said NO GET OUT OF MY OFFICE!!!! My husband and I were standing in the lobby and her co-worker came out and asked us to leave the lobby. We left once my husband got his waffle. This was our first overnight stop on our road trip from California to Michigan. After about 6 hours of driving through the mountains, the desert and waiting in some traffic delays on the I-17N this was a welcoming stop. The price was reasonable. A room with a king size bed, desk, spacious bathroom, easy chair and I didn't notice a microwave, refrigerator or a pool. The front desk clerk was friendly and efficient, breakfast served between 6-9am, and a Starbucks and Denny's just steps away. Your room purchase also gives you a 10% off the local Denny's located on the same grounds of the hotel. The room appeared to be in good condition, no stains or damage on the carpet or furniture. For a one night stay I think it will do just fine. Cons: Noisy Air-Conditioner, Distant trains whistling by all night, local drifters lingering around the Inn, and around our door way. The door to the room had no seal around it, the floors were dirty with sand, the bathroom door was falling off, the toilet ran constantly, the toilet seat cover was coming off, there was no chair in the room, no phone in the room (but they said they had room service), no plug in the sink. The worst part was all the noise until after 2:00 am. There was also someone trying to use their door key to get in my room! I could not open the door cause I was alone and I couldn't call for help because there was no phone in my room! I had a 2 night reservation, but I left after the first night and found a better motel. This was by far the worst place i have ever stayed. Let me start off by saying the pictures are DECEIVING. Staff here are extremely rude and don't know what customer service should be. The location is BEYOND handy. We're on a cross country road trip and my partner and i are moving meaning we had to leave most of our luggage in the trunk of our car and i felt so insecure leaving our things because the location was just so bad. There are actual residents of this place. The security guard sit on his phone in the office so he's not really securing anything. We saw two dogs locked in a car kind you we are in Phoenix and the windows were only down slightly. Also there was no hot water in our room. We didn't see any bugs but i wouldn't be surprised if there were any. Housekeeping does not come by to clean the room so don't expect that. The worst part of It all is someone sh@t in the stairwell Horrible place do not stay here. I stayed here with my fiancé and two other friends for a rugby game on March 9th - March 11th. Very expensive $200 a night, but the location was great within walking distance from Starbucks, Denny's, Mc Donald's and much more. The reservations were made around a month in advanced for a two bedroom, non smoking with a fridge and microwave. I had called the day of check in because it was day light saving and we would be arriving around 2:00am since we were driving in from LA. The gentleman I spoke with assured me he would not give our room away. The staff was polite, however when we got to the room the cigarette odor was nearly unbearable, and there was no fridge or microwave. I called the front desk and he told me that they have given away the room I paid for and the only other non smoking room was a king bed which obviously would not work with four people. Realizing their error I was refunded the first night but still have to endure a room filled with smoke. I woke up with a sore throat craving fresh air. In the morning when I went to the free breakfast which consists of; bagels, hardboiled eggs, juice, coffee and muffins, I told the front desk women (different than the night before) I would not be sleeping in that room again and I would like the room that I paid for and expected. She said that was doable however the room would not be ready until the afternoon which was okay. I called multiple times to verify that the room was still available and saved for me since when I called only one time before it was given away. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the new room. It was exactly what I was expecting. Completely different than the room the previous night. It had a nice note on the bed, fresh smelling room with perfectly displayed sheets but I still di not get my fridge or microwave. If this was the original room I had received I would have given a much higher review. Staff was very generous in refunding me due to the over booking error but I would not stay here again by choice simple due to the experience on the first night, however if it were the only option I would request and call many times to make sure I received a non smoking room! That was really the biggest negative, who in 2018 still allows smoking in hotel rooms. Overall it was a 5/10 and I would not stay here again if I had a choice. read more

We got to our room and found that there was a yellow pee stain on the head of the comforter on the bed. Upon further inspection, we found that there were semen stains on the sheets. We called the front desk and asked for replacement sheets and such, but they responded that they had none. Additionally, the toilet in our room didn't flush hardly at all and the curtains in our room were torn like they had been cut with a knife. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! read more

We went to our first room and as we walked in we got punched in the face my the smell of cigarettes. We went back to the lobby to change rooms and we got a different room, we walked in and once again we got punched in the face with a strong odor. We looked around the room and we opened the drawer and there was a bag of rotten food and we were absolutely disgusted. BUT WAIT THATS NOT ALL, we walked into the bathroom area and looked down and the tile on the floor was cracked and chipped and was untouched, not cleaned or covered. The laziest cleaning staff.
