Very good price and very friendly staff. The location is very good, and next door is a Denny's and Starbucks. That's pretty much the best parts of staying here. I booked 4 nights here for 200 bucks, and I thought it was a great deal from the bookings_com website. But upon arriving, I felt very unsafe. There were 2 women sitting on the curb under the check-in awning, and they looked to have alterior motives and stood up as I walked up. Once I walked inside to check in, the clerk was super friendly , and my fears went away. I paid my deposit, took my digital key, and went back to my car. The 2 women were gone. I looked around and didn't see them anymore, not even around the corner. Weird. My room was near the street facing Starbucks, so I parked the car and started to unload. In the distance, I could see homeless people 10 rooms over to the left. Some were sitting on the curb, some by the fence, and some at the bus stop. They seemed to be eyeing me, so my comfort level dropped to an all-time low. Once inside, the strong smell of cigarettes hit me, and I could see why the price was so low. The bed sheets looked stained, and the room looked like they hadn't cleaned it in years, and if they did, they tried to hide its past. The bathroom was so tight that I had to wiggle around the door to close it behind me. The bathtub was chipping away, and you could see the gray undertone on the floor and the sides of the tub. Shower curtain yellowish and unscrubbed walls. I had a conjoined room and could hear the neighbors so clearly that it sounded like they were in the room with me. 4-5 people next door talking loudly. It was so cold inside, as the AC was running as I walked inside. The hotel is next to the I-17 freeway, so you can hear the cars pass by. All night, I could hear it so clearly. The loud revving of engines, the sirens, the racing, and the people talking outside. I kept checking the peephole on the door because it sounded like they were right outside my door, but they weren't. I may have booked 4 nights, but I didn't stay 4 nights. I checked out the 1st night and didn't plan on coming back. It's too risky to stay here, and I would not recommend it unless you're on a tight budget and don't mind the sounds of the city. Be safe, be real, and be wary.

    Cockroach on the floor

DO NOT STAY HERE!! We stayed here March 18th-March 20th. I had booked an alternative hotel to stay at over booking.com but they had oversold rooms and ours no longer available. La Quinta was the only hotel within the stadium driving distance that still had room. It was DISGUSTING. Would have rather stayed in our rental car. - it is in a sketchy area with homeless peoples everywhere -the outside of the hotel smells like feces - the room smelled musty and dirty like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile -holes in the room And on Monday 20th we noticed COCKROACHES. We checked out ASAP and I called to complain and spoke with the front desk manager who said they could not provide a full refund because we didn't report it sooner and let them fix it? How was I supposed to know I would find cockroaches???? Were you going to put us in an equally gross room?? And we didn't even notice the f*cling cockroaches till the morning we were leaving. So gross. I submitted a complaint on BBB and plan to go to corporate and booking.com, this hotel should NOT BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Also, the day we checked in, March 18th. An unidentified employee opened our room and claimed to be maintenance and needed to fix something. We didn't let him in, but what the hell lol.

    Door lock is missing.

No swing bar lock on door, the dead bolt does not work, the tv doesn't work, there are hookers everywhere and gangster looking people walking all around the hotel. I do not feel safe here. I do not feel my vehicle is safe here. I would definitely bring a gun if you have one.

    The disgusting shower

DO NOT STAY HERE! This is the absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! My bed was disgusting and dirty. The sheets were absolutely not washed. I had to sleep over my own personal blanket. The place was so disgusting. The room reeked of smoke, even though they are non-smoking rooms. It was so bad my husband with asthma had to sleep in the car. We did not shower due to being scared of getting athletes foot. It was extremely unsafe, homeless and crackheads walking in and out. We would have left, but we arrived at 3 AM. I demand my money back! This place is Inhumane!!!!!!!! Please do not stay here I beg you, you would be better off sleeping in your car like my husband. Our clothes still smells so bad of smoke we had to throw everything away! It was a big waste of money staying here!

    Mysterious stains under pullout couch

Disgusting. Smoke-free rooms covered in cigarette residue, walls falling apart, dirt and grime everywhere. Mysterious carpet stains, and the ever-beeping smoke detector from some poor room beeping throughout the night...place of nightmares.

Blood on dust ruffle of bed
    Linda Jo Y.

I rented a room for my daughter who lives in Phoenix because her hot water was out at her apartment. Like a scene from a very bad movie...there was blood all over the dust ruffle and a bullet hole on the curtain that still had blood and particulate matter on it. This is just flat disgusting. The manager did refund us part of the price of the room but how darn disgusting. I would rate this less then zero. Obviously they knew someone had been shot and killed in that room. My daughter has never stayed in a motel by herself and didn't know she could go ask for a different room.

    Car broken into overnight
    Jenn D.

Had a decent stay. Front staff is friendly. Room isn't the cleanest. There were stains on the walls and the light switches. Towels had a couple hairs in them. Beds were clean and comfortable. Due to COVID, breakfast is to-go and includes a juice cup and muffin. Could hear noise outside until around midnight, but after that it was pretty quiet, even though you're next to a highway. Dogs stay free. Right next to a Denny's and Starbucks. Make sure to take ALL your belongings in with you at night from your vehicle. A car was broken into overnight even though there was a security guard walking around. I wouldn't say he was avidly checking the surroundings, so don't let your guard down. Definitely a budget spot, although depending when you book, not a budget price.

Suspicious red stain in question^^ Is it blood? Is it wine? It shouldn't be there.

La Quinta- no, this place is La Quitta. I don't know when they quit caring but you can tell it was a long time ago. The lamp shades are cracked and discolored, the walls are chipped, the floorboards are cracked, there are bugs crawling around like landlords, stains on the curtains and floor, and it smells like smoke. The door doesn't shut all the way so I may be murdered by the time you read this review. There's a suspicious red stain on the carpet and the tiles are separating in the bathroom. My mother is wrestling with the decision of laying a towel on the bathtub floor to shower or leave here smelling like dirty hooker smoke. Bleach has never entered that bathroom. Just save your money and sleep in your car. The people here are very nice. UPDATE: A baby roach tried to crawl in my mother's ear in her sleep. Since there was so much noise all night she was half awake and was able to save herself.

So foul. The city should shut this place down. Bed bugs, roaches, stains, smelled so awful, mold, blood, anything you can think of-was a problem.

    Graffiti in the staircase

HORRIBLE!!! The first room they gave us was saturated in cat pee and smelled like a litter box! They gave us a new room and well, the pictures speak for themselves. Mold in the bathroom, roaches, dirty carpet, blood stains on the sheets, and the room next-door was completely boarded up. This place is a dump and a health hazard. We are sickened that we paid $160 to stay one night in this hellhole. Also, there are shady characters loitering in the parking lot so we opted to unload every single item from our car to deter a break-in. I wish we had checked the reviews before booking with this hotel. it's not safe and it's riddled with health violations! La Quinta should be ashamed to have their name this location!

    Roach on the toilet seat
    Briana C.

Let's start with our room was infested with roaches. They were crawling all over the bathroom floor, walls, toilet seat, floor, everywhere!! As you first drive off the freeway you'll notice the area isn't THAT great. When we parked we immediately were approached by a man who appeared to be on drugs, possibly homeless and he asked if we wanted to buy weed... we declined. Lots of trash surrounding the motel. It's just awful all around. We were given a $30 refund out of a total of $95. DO NOT STAY HERE. I'm so glad we didn't have our kids here to witness this.

The hotel is inspired by the colorful and folk art influenced works of renowned mid-century modern architect and designer Alexander "Sandro" Girard. The hotel's bio says he was the main source of inspiration for the design of the Andaz Scottsdale. The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

Again I tipped 25% My phone has text alert and I noticed the bill was $42.62 for what should have been $22.00 max I bought it to my bar tenders attention and she was working things out on the registry and came back with a receipt that didn't have prices just my order but she had added 1 extra beer. I told her it was wrong and she said it wasn't that the first time she had only charged me for 2 beers and this was my third beer. I did not want to argue so I left it at that but I couldn't sleep thinking about it. I mean dang I even tipped her good. The next day I reached out. To management I don't mind taking care of my servers and I'm always a good tipper. But I don't like being taken advantage of because they think I had a few drinks. Or they think I won't notice extra things. This is not okay. The hotel you check into is supposed to be a safe place like home to enjoy a drink or two. The management offered to refund the first bill of 52.18. But I told him I just wanted what I was over charged refunded plus my tips. At this point I feel she had the chance to correct my bill and make things right but she chose to make me feel like I was in the wrong. After the manager added my first bill up after I told him what I had ordered it turns out she charged 4 beers the first time and not just my 3 and way over charged me the second time. This is a great place to stay but keep an eye on what you order. More so late at night. Also my hot wings were cold in the center but I didn't even mention it to her at the time. Dining: TAQUERIA CENTRO -- 10 out of 10. The food and service were both exceptional. Manager Carlos did an outstanding job and was a true highlight of our stay. Prado -- 4 out of 10. We visited Prado twice during our stay. Our first visit was for breakfast -- the food was okay but noticeably overpriced for what was offered. Our second visit was a far worse experience. We were seated and waited 15 minutes without our server ever acknowledging us, so we got up and left. The service at this restaurant was consistently poor and the pricing did not reflect the quality or experience provided. Dining Options -- Room for Improvement. For a resort of this size and reputation, the dining options felt limited. We would strongly recommend adding at least one additional restaurant to give guests more variety. The snack and coffee shop, which could help fill that gap, closed far too early in the evening. Extending those hours would go a long way in improving the overall guest experience, particularly for those who want a light bite or a cup of coffee later in the day. The Room -- 6 out of 10. The room itself was nice, but there were several issues that fell well below the standard I would expect from a resort of this caliber. The bed was old and noticeably worn down, making for an uncomfortable night's sleep. To make matters worse, the comforter on the bed was torn and had visible holes in it -- something that should never make it into a guest room. We also struggled with the room temperature throughout the night and were unable to get it to cool down comfortably. A Bright Spot at Checkout: I spoke with Avery Williams, Director of Front Office, at checkout and she was genuinely outstanding. She was sincerely concerned about the issues we experienced and did everything she could to address them. She even followed up with an email after our departure, which was a very nice touch. Overall, I left feeling somewhat disappointed given the reputation of this resort. With a few improvements -- additional dining options, extended snack shop hours, updated room bedding and linens, and better temperature control -- along with a serious look at the service standards at Prado, this could easily be a 9 or 10 out of 10 experience.
