What an improvement in customer service from 5 months ago! We were greeted with a smile and KEN at the front desk is AMAZING! He gave information on the best restaurants around sights to see. Room was clean and quiet. We really enjoyed the view. Again, this is in the heart of downtown so there are many places to explore. If ever in the area, please give them a try!

My mobile key was ready at the time of my set check in. My room was clean, smelled great, and was exactly as expected. The beds are super comfortable and the shower head pressure is great!

Renaissance Downtown Phoenix Hotel is located approximately 10 minutes away from Sky Harbor International Airport. Simple and contemporary design, this hotel was booked because of the amount of conventions Phoenix is encountering in the month of February. Fortunately, rooms were available while in Phoenix on business. This hotel is very clean and comfortable, the fragrant scent of the hotel lobby totally reminds me of the white tea scent in Westin Hotels. I didn't get to use all the facilities as this was a short 30 hour stay, my workout was more ideal by going to EOS Fitness nearby, and many food options in Downtown Phoenix. My room had a queen bed, mini fridge, large Smart TV, black out curtains, medium size bathroom with plenty of counter space, standup shower, extra towels, coffee maker, iron & ironing board, office desk, equipped with central air con and very secured elevator. Front desk was extremely warm and welcoming with assistance for my Marriot Bonvoy account to earn points for room charges and incidentals. Nearby eateries such as Chipotle, Nick The Greek, Seamus McCaffrey's, Five Guys Burger, and many more. At the time of check-out very early in the morning, Starbucks is also located downstairs which opens at 5:30am until 5pm. Everyone should make Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel your choice of stay in the heart of the CBD. Offering an ideal location near attractions, including the Phoenix Convention Center, Chase Field, Footprint Center Arena, Phoenix Art Museum. Theater District, and Rosevelt Row Arts District. When or if I'm back again, I'd love to discover the newly opened NATUROPATHICA Day Spa. Also would treat myself to Southwestern cuisine at Dust Cutter. Hotel is also equipped with high-speed WiFi access, self parking garage and valet service.

What a cluster of a check-in process to not have rooms ready in time. Our company booked a bunch of rooms and some people arrived AFTER me and got rooms while I was still waiting in the lobby for mine. All the rooms were the same so their process needs fixed. Give rooms to the people that arrive first! The room layout was odd with weird angles to the bathroom with an armoire behind the sink giving the whole room a cramped feel. I was by myself so it wasn't terrible but there are more people in the room, then oh man, you'll be touching cheeks moving around. It's convenient to the convention center with about a block of outdoor walking, so that's a plus. The lobby was huge (so killing time there wasn't terrible) and the restaurant/bar in the lobby was pretty good and not overly crowded. Great Old Fashioned! I wouldn't stay here again unless I was forced to, mostly because of the unhelpful staff at the front desk (probably not their fault, but the system is terrible). The Kimpton a few blocks away was much nicer.

Be careful! The lighting fixture that could scratch your head or your arm like it did to me when I got up out of bed

Pool is tiny! Then had an injury in the room from one of their lightings next to the window along with a towel rack that fell on my head they said they would put us in a different room and upgrade us to a suite that they were holding all day when we went down to get the room They said it was no longer available and wanted us to move all our stuff into a two bed room up 2 floors when we already have a 2 bed room so still in injury room. I have pictures of injury that will be posted in pics 1/15/2026 all these hotels tell you to call corporate. They can never handle anything on-site anymore like they used to years ago What a shame! very Disappointed

We dropped off some visiting friends at this hotel. This. Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Phoenix. The valet and staff members are outside assisting arriving and departing customers. They were very gracious and helpful. They have their own self and valet parking and WiFi.

We were here for 4 nights and 5 days. I never saw or heard a vacuum. This is around the nightstand. We removed the peanuts

Cleaning!!! They need to buy a vacuum, need to check the rooms and hold staff accountable . 5 day stay and NEVER saw or heard a vacuum anywhere. Our bathroom Sink was stopped up and body hairs were in our shower .Tub in our daughters room had body hairs in It too! They did come and clean shower and tub as well as getting the sink to drain after we reported it. Should have asked them to vacuum. I removed peanuts and some sort of dried up food before I took pictures. I am really unimpressed with Marriott. We asked for an hour extension and because we were bonvoy we could stay an extra hour. BUT DURING THAT hour "housekeeping " kept knocking on doors of both rooms every 10 minutes. I was a nervous wreck trying to pack . do not disturb was hanging on doors! So wonder what happens if you use your free nights stay!!!

Maydeline at the Spa was very helpful and very in touch with guest needs. One step ahead everytime. Colin really saved the day with making sure we had everything we needed. Brennan was also really helpful at breakfast and bringing us water all the way to the retreat pool. There was a minor hiccup with requesting ice while we were there but they did take care of it and apologized the next day for it not being done promptly, the acknowledgement was great and it really was such a minor thing. They have lots of activities everyday that are included and they also have experiences you can pay for.

The hotel is inspired by the colorful and folk art influenced works of renowned mid-century modern architect and designer Alexander "Sandro" Girard. The hotel's bio says he was the main source of inspiration for the design of the Andaz Scottsdale. The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

The hotel is surprisingly affordable for Scottsdale, clean, well maintained, and has a ton of character. Unfortunately, there were also several things that left me wondering if time is beginning to pass this Scottsdale icon by. Our room was nice, but it stayed consistently around 76 degrees until the middle of the night. Why? Because there appeared to be a single vent pumping out just enough cold air to rival a household fan. I don't need my hotel room to double as a meat locker, but in Arizona, I would at least like the option. Also, being woken up by a leaf blower each morning as the wind whipped around the crevices of the door... yeah, not enjoyable. The pool was nice enough, but surprisingly small, crowded, and the water was hot. For a Scottsdale hotel with the reputation Valley Ho carries, the entire pool experience just felt a little dated and cheaper than I expected. We also paid $400+ for our cabana, only to discover the safe didn't work. At that price point, I expect every amenity included with the cabana to function properly. Now for the absolute bright spot of our pool experience: Alex! Alex was THE MAN. This dude strutted around that pool serving patrons with a smile and a full heart. My wife, our friends, and I were genuinely excited every time we saw him coming our way because his customer service was impeccable. He was personable, attentive, funny, and made us feel like he genuinely wanted us to have a great time. Give that man his flowers. Overall, I understand why Hotel Valley Ho is such a Scottsdale institution. There's history, character, and plenty to like about the property. But between the struggling A/C, questionable soundproofing, small and overcrowded pool, hot water, and malfunctioning cabana amenities, the experience didn't quite live up to the reputation. I don't regret staying here. My wife and I still enjoyed our weekend, and we made some great memories with our friends. I just think the Valley Ho experience sounds a little better on paper than it actually delivers in practice. Would I stay again? Possibly. Would I request Alex if I'm sitting poolside? In a heartbeat.

We ate one night at Prado and the food had no flavor. Loved the smell of the restaurant like mesquite wood burning. The waiter was very nice and friendly. I posted that review on here as well. The entire staff were very friendly and helpful when asked. Never understood what was included in the $45/night resort fee and the parking was $35/night for valet and 30 for self park.
