Delicious food and best margarita around. Mole was very rich tasting and not too spicy for sensitive eaters.

Ozark, MO Okay,…read morereally really good Buffet... I'm not typically a buffet guy but would definitely do this again... Everything (except the Cinnamon rolls were great). Note to the culinary team, the C-rolls are dry, something to expect at the Courtyard Marriott free continental breakfast - not at your place... upgrade or 86 this item. Service was exceptional... Then of course the views and grounds were amazing... would definitely recco this place to anyone going to Springfield or Ozark.

So when I told him that there's another restaurant beneath The Mill, he was so excited to try it out. The entrance to the restaurant is quite interesting with a dark tunnel leading in to the main sitting area. Our host led us to our table promptly. We chose to sit inside. The ambiance is nice with low lights, heavy leather chairs, and dark wood tables. There's an outside dining area as well that includes views of the river and the grounds. Our server, Chris, was attentive and friendly. He brought our starters out in no time. The seared Foie Gras with blue berry compote was amazing! The tang of the compote went really well with the silky bite of the foie gras on a crispy toast point. The Black Garlic fries were perfectly crispy, well seasoned, and delicious. It's a large serving that lasted through our main course. My husband enjoyed his pot roast. He remarked that it was quite filling despite the portion being on the smaller side. I ordered the Lobster Risotto. It was perfectly cooked with a seared scallop and tender lobster bits on top. I enjoyed every warm, creamy, buttery bite with relish. We finished off with a beautiful Persimmon Crème Brûlée. It had a lovely silky smooth custard and perfectly brûléed crust. I didn't taste any persimmon notes, but it didn't matter. We were both quite pleased with the dessert. The Garrison is an upscale and classy, but inviting, establishment. You will feel comfortable and enjoy a pretty top notch meal. I look forward to another lovely evening at The Garrison soon.

We were pretty much immediately greeted and told that we can sit where we'd like. We found a table and had a seat. The waitress took our drink order and went to go do her thing. Maybe 10 or 15 minutes later she came back with our drinks at last. I always hate eating dinner at places that are primarily a bar because the service is usually terrible and that's pretty much how it went with our visit. 45 minutes after ordering our food , we were still waiting on it, even our appetizer, and our drinks were in a constant state of needing a refill with the waitress nowhere to be found. I planned to have a couple mixed drinks while I was there, to try some different things, so they literally lost money by not coming back to the table to check on us. I didn't have the opportunity to order more drinks. The food finally arrived. My sad potato with chicken was nothing special and was pretty small for the price. My husband didn't like his food. I can't recall what he got. The manager was nice when he swung by, but by the time he came, the damage was already done. The whole visit was disappointing. We won't be back. This place really hasn't changed from what it was before they changed names and ownership. It was disappointing before and it remains so.

From the moment we walked in, it was chaos. The place is a little dirty, and the roof was leaking onto a few of the tables. After finding a table, a server finally came to our table. We explained that it was our first time there. She brought menus and explained that because they were seating 300 people in the theater, we would have a wait for our food. Since this was date night, we had no problem waiting (as long as we could get some drinks and snacks). We looked over the menu and waited (and waited and waited). Finally, my husband suggested that we go somewhere else. We got up, put on our coats, and walked out. Our server was standing outside the door and looked at us. She saw us leaving and did not say one word to us. If you are looking for a place to have a special night out with someone, this is not it. Many other places in Springfield will value your business. We went to one of our favorite places (Black Sheep) which was packed wall-to-wall. We were immediately seated, had a server at our table in 2 minutes, and were enjoying drinks in 10 minutes. We won't be back. Team Backlot, do better.
