Things have changed. Had to grab something in a pinch and this was the nearest store at that moment so we went in. The vibes are different now and the inside looks less cluttered. We encountered attentive service, warm greetings and eye contact. We found everything that we needed and the checker was very laid back and friendly. The pre-marinated taco meat was delicious and it totally saved me some time and energy. I'm pleased to see that something has shifted for the better here. Clean, well stocked and good prices. Tried two different markets looking for Bay Leaves and was passing by and saw this place. In the Mexican spice area, got a packet for $0.99, grabbed a bag of chips made in house with chili and lemon and some lemons and it rang up for $4.26 - now that's a deal! Walk in and produce to your right, butcher counter in the back and to your left was a hot food area selling all Mexican standards. Up front by the register was sweet breads. I have given this place 2 chances-I can't seem to justify to myself to come back. This is located pretty close to us and I really wanted to love it but I can't. Their prices are pretty steep for regular every day items. The meat department looks super sketchy and I don't have the nerve to buy any thing from it. A family member did but I did not care for the bacon or chorizo. They seem to offer a good variety of Mexican and American items. The store doesn't seem very well kept either-feels a little dirty. If the prices were better I'd probably force myself to go ahead go. read more

I apparently had 3 heads and 4 arms as I entered this store as everyone stared at me. I thought that I would extend my search for empanadas and corn tortillas to this store. Empanadas are easy to find in Florida, but apparently, they're not as available in California. (I guess it's time for me to learn to make empanadas, but ask me about being a Japanese and making gyoza and why I don't want to make them again.) As the store is much smaller than a Mi Pueblo grocery, they didn't have a deli and the frozen food cases were not functional. However, they had a large selection of meat, drinks (including refrigerated alcohol), various canned goods, and chips and treats. They also had an aisle of housewares. I'm not sure about their selection of corn tortillas, never having seen most of the brands there, but they were in quantities of 70 and most of those would be wasted unless I had some sort of party, so I guess I need to find another store with smaller packages. It is an old store, isles and product not organized. I like some of the vegetables and fruit sold there. The closer you get to the back of the store, you might gag. The meat department smells bad. It doesn't look sanitary at all. There are always flies in the meat case. Don't they worry about larva, or food poisoning? Honestly, the out doorcfruit/veggie stands are much better for freshness and well display of everything sold at the stand. No one ever says hello when you walk in. I like the fact this store is stocked with items needed during the covid-19 crisis. My employer looks bad next to this guy. He had everything you might need, sanitary wipes, hand sanitizers, alcohol wipes, face covers. Good job on these essential items. I love the Mexican candy, also. So, needless to say, I don't go down every idle. I keep my eyes set at tunnel vision, and do not go to the back of store. The man behind the counter by the hats and boots is pretty nice. read more

I bought quarter chicken leg from them and it was frozen which was fine but when I got home it had 5 legs in the bag and they told me there was 9 to 10 legs and it was over priced. I paid 17.99 for it and when I got the 10 legs at a different store it was just 12.89. I feel ripped off. read more

This place has so much potencial, but every time there is a problem. If this place doesn't take ownership on their food sanitation one day they will kill someone from food poisoning. One day I bought some homemade chorizo and it extremely salty that we had to through it away. Last week I bought some shredded cheese and when I got home it was moldy. I wish there is a good Mexican grocery store close to me some day, but La Raina is not it. Rositas is worth my drive. read more

Just came here for the first time today. Their veggies are okay some were really old and some were kind of dry. Their shrimp were frozen and the fresh ones looked old. I wanted tilapia, but they were in a vacuum pack and I really wanted fresh tilapia fillets. They didn't have much variety for the pre-marinated meats. The have some baked goods in the front and those looked good and were selling fast. The thing I really like about the store is their prices, especially on the veggies. I was able to get tomatoes and bell peppers, and other veggies for a good price. Their Korean bbq has a lot of meat for good price. Their meats are a good price. I wouldn't mind coming back to their store, I just wished the yellow onions were much smaller. read more

Disgusting, la reina super market does NOT HANDLE the food equipment serious. As you can see I was going to order meat until I saw about 8 flys all over the meat cutter. Imagen if someone gets sick if they don't wash the cutter appropriately? It seems like they cut the meat with flys all over since there's pieces of meat at the bottom. HEALTH DEPARTMENT ! read more

This place is the worst. Their meat section smells sooooo bad I wanted to vomit. I went in there thinking they had a mini taqueria in back for some good food and a great carniceria for marinated meat. Yeah.
