Finally was able to try this place out and I was interested in their Filipino breakfast. We were immediately greeted and welcomed in which was nice :) The girl recommended the pork sisig w/rice and said it was spicy. We also got a 6pc order of lumpia, half chicken, half pork so that was nice you can pick. The lumpia was freshly fried, you could feel it through the bag, and still hot when we got home. I think I preferred the pork over the chicken filling. The pork sisig was a bit tough and on the charred side and overall a bit hard to eat. It didn't taste fresh. the garlic rice was good though, soft, and fragrant and the portion was generous. the fried egg was cooked well too. Just was hoping for a better pork sisig, and it had white stuff in it. at first we thought it was like melted mozzarella cheese that was cooked w/the pork, but it wasn't cheese....not sure what it was. They make the food to order and it took a while to come out. In the meantime we walked around the store a couple times but then I went to take a seat outside at the table. I would be interested in coming back to try one of their other breakfast items. read more

We didn't know they served breakfast silog in this place. We thought it was just a grocery store. Our family was craving some Filipino breakfast and we saw this pop up and gave it a try. My wife and I got one of each and split the longanisa and tocino silog and papa got a longanisa. Can't go wrong with garlic rice, egg, and some yummy meat. Service was friendly and quick. They even moved the table from the sun to the shade for us. If you're looking for good old Filipino breakfast, this is a great spot. read more

4 out of 5 stars Great food, friendly service, just wish for bigger portions I really love this location -- it's a small Filipino restaurant tucked downtown, but I've always had great experiences here. The star of the show is Sheila. She's incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, and always very accommodating. Her welcoming attitude makes every visit more enjoyable. The place is also clean and organized. Their displays are simple, neat, and well-kept, which adds to the overall positive vibe of the restaurant. The food? Delicious! We especially love their sisig -- it's flavorful and always hits the spot. The only thing I wish would improve is the portion size. For example, an extra order of sisig costs $7.50, but the serving is quite small -- about half a container. Compared to other places like some Chinese restaurants that offer generous servings, I think this spot could give just a little more value for the price. Still, the ambience, the food, and the service are all really good. That's why I'm giving this 4 stars. I hope they consider increasing portion sizes in the future -- because everything else is already great! read more

A downtown Tracy gem. This Filipino bodega is small but mighty. It has many of the classic Filipino fixings and snacks. They even serve food now! While it's not a huge store they have shelved food, a full shelving unit of noodle options, a freezer section with frozen meats and dessert. They also sell freshly baked pan de sal and ube bread that is delivered from a local bakery. Get there early to snag some though. I got lucky one morning and the bag was still warm to the touch. The business owners are so friendly and welcoming. It's great to see places like this thrive in the community. read more

Great little corner market with lots of fun Filipino snacks and everyday grocery items. Discovered the market with hot foods after leaving Farmers Market on a Saturday afternoon. I've been wanting Vermicelli, Patis and lumpia wrappers and they had it. Also picked up some garlic corn nuts, and misc snacks. Owner at the counter was very nice and said they just started serving food 7-months ago. Place is sparkling new and clean. Played it safe and ordered the beef tapas (marinated, thinly sliced beef), garlic rice and fried egg. Only complaint, my egg was fried hard so specify if you want it cooked differently. Also came with a small container of pickled sweet veggies. All for $10.99. If they raised the prices $1 and added a lumpia that would make it for me! Even after Farmers market goodies, the babes and I gobbled up our food. read more

The little Filipino store that could! Here in Tracy, the ever growing Filipino/Asian community is in constant need of options for food and grocery shopping. If you lived in the Bay Area and are used to having Seafood City, Island Pacific, or 99 Ranch, you will definitely miss them and love having little stores like Bahay Kubo...It's awesome location in downtown Tracy puts it in a good spot. They also serve Filipino food which is a plus! We've tried their "Silog" items and we would definitely recommend! They are very friendly, and the store has a good variety of items. There is parking in front of their store on the street, as well as a parking lot behind the building. Just have an open mind and avoid your usual Filipino/Asian mentality of criticizing prices because they're not a big box store, so support your local community. read more

We came here to explore the new Filipino market in town but left with a handful of items and was beyond impressed with the selection of snacks, desserts, and plants! Bahay Kubo is located in Downtown Tracy; parking is plentiful and the area is pretty lively especially on Saturdays. The owners were super kind and friendly - it shows they have a strong attention to detail with how clean and organized their store is and that was greatly appreciated. They have everything you can imagine when it comes to Filipino/Asian sauces (Lechon sauce, kewpie mayo, sriracha, mirin, etc), and even had items like balut, siopao, and longanisa. My personal favorite selection of items they had: the ice cream! There's a great variety of Magnolia ice creams here, like the boba ones, bars, and classic tubs. My family loved the ice cream so much that we ended up coming back the day after my initial visit to get more since we finished the tub lol! The prices felt very fair too. For it being one of the two small Asian grocery stores in the Tracy area, we thoroughly enjoyed our trips here and look forward to coming again for all of our Filipino/Asian small grocery necessities :-) read more

It's hard to find Filipino ingredients in Tracy but thank God for Bahay KUBO you can get groceries! I was making a Filipino BBQ Chicken recipe and it called for Banana Ketchup and this store had it. Friendly cashier, good selection, clean, frozen section , nice music playing and reasonable prices. Great spot ! Recommend!!!! I didn't eat the lunch plates as they weren't serving at the time I went I think. read more

The store for what it is IS MY FAVE! They have a bunch of stuff you wouldn't find in your local safe way etc. You can find Filipino and Asian products that are necessary for daily cooking. Great selection of frozen goods as well. They have frozen bangus, tocino, hotdogs, cheese dogs, longanisa, and more. They sell hot food like the silogs I shared at a certain times (it's a must-try). Perfect small place to get your fresh made meals. Order online ahead so you don't have to wait. They have other snacks & cooking ingredients there you can purchased as well. If you wait you can walk around to the other stores Along the street & comeback for your food. This is the place to go when you're craving some silog! Very tasty and SO MANY OPTIONS! YUMMY!! The customer service is great, too! It is so refreshing to find a place that offers more traditional halo halo in the midst of all this trendy and fusion Filipino food. I appreciate our food finally getting some recognition but there is something comforting finding halo halo made similar to my Lola's (especially since we just lost her 4 short months ago). Bahay Kubo did not disappoint. It was the perfect proportion of ube ice cream, ice and toppings. Same way as if we had our "halo halo bar" on Lola's kitchen table. The serving is pretty generous, too. I was sharing mine with both my daughter and nephew and still wasn't able to finish it all. My family lives out in Tracy, hoping to make this a go to spot when visiting them. read more

Finally another pinoy spot in the 209. Nice little Filipino grocery store, with all the faves. Another added bonus...hot food! Every "silog" you could want, perfectly priced and portioned. Friendly staff, willing to answer any and all questions. They have a bit of everything. Definitely a traditional "sari-sari" store.
