The quality of the groceries are good. I appreciate that they don't lock up the liquor like Safeway does. The store is clean enough and they seem to keep it up. I ordered a cake with a 24 hour notice with deep details on how I wanted it, even brought in a printed out picture and in the paper they wrote with straight instructions on the color and design it was a simple red cake with boarder designs, and I told them please no swans just a 21 in the middle instead and they didn't even look at tue picture or the instruction and did what ever they wanted, they told me if they had any questions they could call me and nothing. I went in to this particular Save Mart location to return an Amazon item. I had no idea that Save Mart had become an Amazon return center, so it was my first time doing this. When doing the return in the App it asks you to choose a specific location, so I picked the Yosemite Ave location and went on my way. I went to the customer service desk and a short older woman with black hair told me, with an authoritative and sure tone, that their returns kiosk was broken and that they therefore could not process any Amazon returns and that I would need to go to the Save Mart that's located on Main Street and use their kiosk instead. Oddly enough, as she's speaking these words a second younger employee was responding with the biggest surprised eyes, almost like she heard something that was amiss and her face was protesting, and I definitely took note. If you're a parent you know what I mean, siblings give each other away with these kinds of facial expressions. The poor thing went from looking totally surprised to looking like she felt sorry for me. I mentioned that I didn't even know that I could return things from Amazon at Save Mart, to which the short dark haired elder one responded that she could only process it if it was a bulk item, but since it's a small item (a cellphone case) I would need to go to the other location to use their Amazon returns kiosk,so I did, even though it made no sense to me that she could ONLY accept it if it was a bulk item. Why is it that she can manually process a bulk item, but not the small one that I was holding in my hands? I proceeded to the Main St location. At the Save Mart on Main St I was told that their returns kiosk has only been up and working for a week and that they had been sending people over to the Yosemite avenue save mart location for Amazon returns. When I asked if the Yosemite location only accepts bulk items he said no and that they accept all items of any size, just like the Main St location. So in essence, I was turned away from processing a return because a Save Mart employee decided that they did not want to do an Amazon return manually? I called the Yosemite location to ask specifically about their Amazon returns policy and Mike, the manager, told me that they did in fact have the ability to accept Amazon returns with or without the kiosk, as they are processed via an app in a save mart smart phone. He apologized and nervously said that it was all just a misunderstanding. It was not a misunderstanding because the language used was very clear. I was lied to and turned away. How distasteful, passive aggressive, and downright unprofessional. read more

Went this morning and store was well stocked and clean and I found everything I was looking for !!! And everything had sale signs and ad goods were right in front ..so convenient and loved my cashier and sweet girl that bagged my groceries !!!! Sun 5/24/26 at around 10:30am !!! My first time going to save Mart. I just needed a few things. When I went to check out,there was no cashier so I waited for a few to see if they would show up but nothing. I had to go find someone. There was a lady at the other end of all the registers talking to someone so I went and waited patiently till she was done talking and I asked if there was someone who could check me out and she said "I'm there". Well no,she was way over somewhere else and not paying attention to the only register open so finally she started to ring up my items and then asked kinda rudely if I wanted to buy bags.. no good morning,no did you find everything you needed,nothing but attitude. I mainly went in for chicken,the chick thighs were dryed out and some pieces were like grey.. I should have taken them back. Hopefully it will not make me sick..not good customer service, chicken that was frozen and thawed too many times and the prices are outrageous. Not even the fruit section looked good .. I've been living in Tracy for over 20 years. I've had one of the worst experience, Save Mart. I never been a big lover of that store and I see the other people feel the same way the comments they're rude. They hate their job and then they won't lift a finger to help you. And also, I hope they go out of business. Winco doesn't have a good vegetables and no customer service but they're sure a hell a lot cheaper. read more

Be a smart shopper and watch your prices here. Thought save mart was supposed to be cheap. Target was actually cheaper for Oscar Meyer bacon 1lb package. Also chobani yogurt large container of vanilla was cheaper also. Over $1 each. I plan on researching more before I head out. read more

The produce picture was taken over a year or two ago. Sorry it's late but had to share. Rotten onions and moldy oranges. Most of the time there are bugs on the produce. Flies and fruit flies. Still having expired product issues on Main Street 11/23. I'll keep posting these issues until these problems are taken care of. read more

Not sure the what the ladies name is, she has dyed white hair maybe on her early 50's, I must say I've never encountered an employee at any retail institution that was as rude as her. She takes the cake. I wish I had the time to go into detail here, but if you need help, stay far away from that employee. Anyone else can help for the most part, but that woman will genuinely try to make a mockery of you for asking a simple question. I genuinely felt disrespected after asking what isle the corn was in which should say something about her character. Save Mart should be ashamed for employing such a person. Tried to purchase deli meat at 7:07 pm on a Friday night. Girl behind the counter refuses to help us stating the deli closes at 7:00 pm. What major grocery store closes their deli/bakery at 7:00 pm on a Friday night? All the prepared deli foods were sitting in the display. So, left overs Saturday morning? Yuck! The store always has an unpleasant odor in it when I go there, both the store on Lathrop and the store on Yosemite Dr in Manteca.

Why are employees at Save Mart so rude? It's been 5 years since I've been in this store. At that time, I was exploring local stores for the first time, trying to find typical groceries I would buy. I wasn't having much luck. What I found were very high prices. I decided to shop at Raley's, Walmart, and Target. Today, because this store is within easy walking distance, I decided to give it another try. I needed soup and didn't want to carry it from the other side of town. They indeed had Progress soup, but at the highest regular prices I've seen in some time. Thankfully, they had a sale price of $1.79 for my favorites, and if I got five of them, they each became $0.99, instead of $3.19. That's a deal. (Of course, they could just be trying to clear out all of them. Who knows?) They had two check lanes open and the cashier was efficient. When she got to me, she didn't say anything. Another person grabbed a bag and said that she would use it for my soup. I thanked her. When my transaction was finished, the cashier handed me the receipt but still said absolutely nothing. I don't understand why my money wasn't good enough. I got similar treatment at Ripon and Modesto stores. read more

I love this store. The staff are always friendly! I was dancing through an isle one time and one employee was laughing and started dancing with me while sweeping. Very disappointed with this cake. I came to pick it up before we headed out to my boyfriends birthday dinner and this is what it looks like when the person behind the counter opened it up to show me. I was very excited to see my idea of this "Kobe year" cake come to life for my boyfriends 24th birthday. Not only was seeing the whole top of this cake destroyed disappointing but it wasn't even the correct colors and if you look at the yellow bordering it looks like someone just did it in a rush. This review is for the SaveMart Corporate office in Modesto, which i could not find on Yelp so I had to choose this store. Wow, just got off the phone with Javier a customer service rep from the corporate office in Modesto. "Javier the operative words for the day is CUSTOMER SERVICE." I called because I was concerned about the people getting carts at our local grocery store which were not using masks. He devalued my concern and acted as though I was bothering him. I'm sorry Javier for calling your personal phone with an unimportant issue on your day off. Javier please take notes at your next Customer Service training or find another line of work. read more

I will never shop here again!!! So I sent my husband in for a bag of shrimp for dinner. On his way out a employee stops him and tells him he didn't pay for it. So my husband shows him his receipt and the guy tells him that he need to get back in the store and speak to the cashier. I get an instant headache when walking inside this store. The oil from the fryer in the deli smells like they've never changed it. And the fried food tastes like it as well. They have to know when oil is heated on high temperatures, it can produce a variety of chemical compounds that can create unpleasant odors. And can be harmful. Inhaling oil fumes cause symptoms such as nose, eyes, and throat irritation, headaches, fatigue, and nausea. Someone needs to call the health department. read more

I dont understand the complaints that others have made about this location, but from my experience, the people who work there are the best I've seen in any grocery. Every one there has been so nice and always makes our family feel welcome. Also, I really like the new remodel you guys did.... it looks really great! I got Whole Foods vibes when I went in there today. Please let the staff know how much they are appreciated. The store is always clean, well stocked, and every one always greets us with a smile. love this store. I'm new to the area and a night person. I have pretty bad anxiety so very thankful they are open til 2 am, not a big fan when they close early but I get it, I've only noticed they do so about 10-15 early. Ive gone there at one of the most crazy time and it being just my 3 time there I was very thankful that with how well they are organized and had called in staff I was able to be in and out and it was also the first time I had ever seen every register open and still had staff collecting carts thank goodness because it was windy as well. staff seems to be well trained as well, even the new ones seem to be more informed then some managers at other stores. Best ever bakery!! I had my teenage daughter order my younger daughters 2nd birthday cake the day before her party. Not to mention it was July 3rd and crazy in the store. The bakery lady was patient and helpful with my daughter, which is a rarity these days. When my daughter couldnt find the design she wanted the bakery lady pulled out her phone and showed her a design online that she could make in a days' notice. I picked up the cake the next day and I was blown away! The cake was incredible! I paid only $30 and received a custom order cake that was as the hit of the party! It was delicious and adorable. I will only shop at savemart for my future party needs not only because of the quality but more so because of the customer service! read more

I definitely have seen better save March than the one I visited at this location. This location is pretty small but I was able to find majority of the items I was looking for right before Thanksgiving so that was a plus. They do offer self checkout stands which is nice and like most grocery stores there are a lot of checkout stands with nobody working. They always have bags of ice in stock which is a plus especially when I was waiting for my new refrigerator to be delivered. All in all I would probably go to another location over this one but it's convenient and served it's purpose. read more

I went to SaveMart for the ground beef sale . When I reached the meat section I saw one of the meat employees ( a middle aged man) chatting with a couple of older women . I also noticed that the spot where the advertised sale ground beef was empty. I waited patiently for him to finish his conversation. When he was finally finished , he turned and walked away. I called his attention , by saying "Excuse me sir" , politely. He kept walking . I again tried to get his attention. He then abruptly turned around to give me the meanest glare . I asked him if there was any more of the ground beef. He responded, " I'm getting to that ma'am!" and walked through the flapping doors. I was appalled by his demeanor and responded , "I'm sorry , I'm not a mind reader". He never came back out .Luckily , the younger African American man working with him , saw this whole interaction and quickly went to the back and brought me the packages that I was requesting. Very disappointing experience. Kudos to the young man who treats all of Savemart's customers with respect and shame on the older employee who is selective with whom he treats nicely. read more

Ok, I have been coming here since forever. I have seen the old, then the new when they remodeled. Then again the new with a more recent facelift . I just don't get why they get worse. If I accidentally buy something expired, it is from this store. If I need something special they don't have it. this weekend they had no small packages of skinless chicken thighs. Their basil bags all had pieces of decayed leaves . Today I went back. No plastic bags at any of the dispensers. I did not buy apples because of that. I bought Italian ground sausage three weeks ago, expired. The self check out line on Sunday too finicky. The helper there very rude. There was an older women teller that is slow and has no redeeming personality. I love the Save-mart in Modesto at Pelendale. We lost the great butcher there and check out staff. I live close so I still go but after today I will endeavor Togo to Safeway and Ralph's. read more
