Trying pupusas at this place for the first time.
    Alma P.

This truck is located on Kingskanyon street and it's always at the same spot. It is at the bad side of the town but we wanted some pupusas and since the other place didn't make the pupusas the way they always did. We were disappointed. The service was quick even though the young lady that took my order was kind of unfriendly. I ordered a dozen of cheese and beans pupusas. They came with the obligated pickle cabbage and the red tomato sauce. The tomatoes sauce had some kind of plastic flavor. It didn't really taste good. The pupusas were very cheap but the beans tasted from the Can. And the cheese, well I didn't see the cheese. Ambience is well just according to the area. Smelled bad.

Pupusas: Revuelta y Queso con Calabaza

This was my first time trying this food truck. As a Salvadoreña, I'm also looking for that authentic, fresh taste in my pupusas. I ordered two pupusas: Revuelta (pork, cheese) and Queso con Calabaza (cheese and squash). With Curtido (cabbage) and Tomato Salsa. Typically, revueltas come with beans but that has not been my experience in the Central Valley. The pupusa masa was dry. The revuelta was my least favorite of their pupusas. The queso y calabaza was ok in flavor but still dry tasting. I gave them the most stars for their curtido and salsa. Both were pretty good! I had a co-worker bring them to me so I didn't get a chance to see the ambiance of the food truck or if it was chill. Typically the street they are on is pretty busy. Regarding the service, i didn't get to interact with them but was told the staff was nice and friendly. Overall, I'm not sure that I would return to this food truck to be honest. Perhaps I may give them another chance on another occasion.

Decided a few bites in that it was 5 star review worthy: Pupusa and carne asada tacos

Really good! We got the Pupusas with frijoles and carne asada tacos and a coke. All of it for $15, $2 being a card transaction fee so bring cash to avoid it. In my opinion, the tacos were the start. They were really juicy, limey, the tortillas were soft yet slightly crispy with cilantro and onions. The pupusa was very cheesy and a good size. Hidden gem for sure. If you're in the area check them out

    Atole de Elote Very yummy

The pupusas were very good and the size was good. The price was good and one and half was more than enough.

    Spot they are located.

I could order on the phone so when we got out of our little business we went to pick up. At first I didn't know it was a food truck. But then when we got to the place we saw it. So when we got there they were making them and they didn't take that long to finish. They were good despite the look the taste was there. The salsa needed to be a little bit spicier. We were gladly surprised that they were good. I highly recommend. The price was modest.

Some of the Salvadorian offerings include: pupusas with combinations of cheese, garlic, mushrooms, squash, jalapeño, beans, pork, and rice; pastelitos (which are Salvadorian empanadas filled with minced meat and spices); yuca fries, caramelized bananas with cajeta (a rich caramel made from goat's milk) or banana empanadas coated in sugar. Mexican menu offerings include tacos, burritos, sopes, quesabirria tacos, gorditas, mulitas, huaraches (similar to a large, open-faced taco on a thick gordita-like base), and quesadillas. If you have little ones with less cultured tastebuds, Pupuseria Los Guanaquitos is happy to accommodate with their kids' menu featuring quesadillas, chicken nuggets, and fries. Our family tried a variety of items from the menu on our recent visit, including the revuelta (cheese, beans and pork), cheese and garlic, and cheese and jalapeño pupusas, the yuca fries, quesabirria tacos, and banana empanadas. My personal favorites with the cheese and jalapeño pupusas and the yuca fries. If yuca is new to you, the flavor is mild, and the texture is similar to that of a potato. It's sliced and fried with crispy layers surrounding it and a flavorful sauce is included on the side for dipping.

I was prepared for "similar to Mexican, yet different". The grilled beef steak(like carne asada) with oiled rice and salad was served with a small side plate of round thick tortilla -like bread. Sort of like a pupusa without a filling. I can tell there was corn meal in it. I ordered the hibiscus tea. It was tasty and refreshing. One of my dining companions ordered a dish that was as somewhat similar to a chile relleno, only filled with ground beef and without cheese. It was tasty and savory, but had no heat, no chiles. It was a little awkward for me, because had no expectations of what to expect. The meat was a little salty, and tasted good. The serving portions were of good size. I do like the heat of Mexican food, so I was a little disappointed the El Salvadoran food isn't. Next time, illstick to the pupusas. Service was attentive.
