Some of the best pizza I've had. Quiet little restaurant that has a few tables and a very friendly staff.

When we pulled up we could barely park, they parking lot was FULL. This is a small restaurant with a at home feel. Once we entered the restaurant it was starting to empty out, it had limited seating with 7 tables that seat 2 or 4. We were seated fairly quickly as everyone else was finished and leaving, they just needed to clean off the table. Our server was quick with menus and waters. Once we ordered we were then given HOT fresh sliced bread and butter (delicious). Our wait was not overly long and food was good. I had the Pasta Primavera, lacked a bit in flavor, but was hot and a good amount of food. My younger son had the 10" cheese pizza, was cooked perfectly! The older son had Cheese Tortellini, he said it was delicious. And My husband enjoyed his Lasagna and the house salad. We would eat here again. read more

On a Thursday evening, a little after 5:00 p.m. we waited an hour and a half for two entrees, a salad and a pizza. The chicken Marsala consisted of three small chicken breasts that were pounded thin and barely sautéed with mushrooms that were dumped straight from the can on to the dish. The chicken Parmesan was a single, small filet hidden under a sea of sauce. No care was taken in the presentation of any of the food (the pizza was okay). Yes. We ate every bite because of the small portion sizes and the length of time it took to get our meals. Every restaurant has an off night and I wouldn't have taken the time to write this review if it wasn't for the $90 tab (with tip) that we paid for a truly disappointing experience. The owners don't respond to negative reviews and it seems that they're not into apologies, compensation or doing anything to preserve their reputation and retain customers. From the reviews I've read, you have pretty good odds of being left frustrated and impoverished after your meal. We felt taken advantage of after leaving this place. read more

What an amazing gem of a restaurant, in Oregon, WI! The owners are Sicilian and their cooking shows it. They offer fresh food made with love. From pizza to rich pasta dishes, you will not be disappointed. Seating inside is limited, so making a reservation is recommended if you want to snag a table. During COVID, they expanded to limited outdoor seating as well (during warm weather). The owners are a husband/wife couple who are also the chefs. Got takeout from here on a Saturday night, and we were happy to see that they were so busy. That usually means really good food! The order wasn't quite ready when we got there, but the staff offered to bring it out to our car when it was so we wouldn't have to wait inside. Very much appreciated from the staff and it only took about 15 minutes longer than what they told us. We ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken, the spaghetti and meatballs, and the chicken marsala. The alfredo was fine, kind of standard. Although, the comment was mentioned that it could have used more chicken and was a little small for the price. The spaghetti and meatballs had good reviews and my friend said that it was a little spicy. He wasn't sure if that was the sausage or the sauce though. The chicken marsala came in two separate containers, which was appreciated, but I was very confused as to why the side of linguini had red sauce on it. I mean it didn't taste bad, but not exactly what I was expecting to go with the chicken. For overall taste, the chicken and mushrooms definitely had the taste of marsala wine and the chicken tasted better than it looked. The meals come with fresh Italian bread and butter. We were surprised to see that it looked like half a loaf of bread, but there was no butter provided and the top of ours was burnt. Overall, the staff was super friendly and accommodating, but the food just kind of seemed average. I'm not going to lie, I was expecting something a little more stand out given the reviews that I've read, so that lead to the 3 stars. It's fine, but given the price of Italian food, I think if we go back I would try the pizza instead of anything pasta related. read more

It may be a small red restaurant, but the flavors are big. The staff is friendly, efficient and attentive. The owners spend as much time in the dining room talking to customers as they do the kitchen, without sacrificing service. Lovely dining experience. read more

First time visit to La Rocca's and far overdue! I went to high school with the two daughter's of the family thats owns this establishment. Their parents are just as amazing! Cathy and Vito are super kind people simply out to make great southern Italian themed Italian food that their family has enjoyed themselves for years in Italy and here in the USA. I took a fast liking to all the dishes we got as well. I'd get each dish again for sure! I was even allowed to get played photos of each dish ordered just for my blog so it could be seen in prime played condition. We then boxed it all up for take out as this is how all their service is done for now. Call in orders are easy, simple, and accurate. The portions are generous and the prices are worth every penny paid. The inside is small and cute I have to say. I wish they could be open! Felt just like the small Italian trattoria I got to know well in my year living in NE Italy all of 2019, no joke. The aroma inside alone is worth coming in I swear it! Well, what can I say. The food was really good. Lasagne, salad, sausage, bread, spaghetti with marinara and meatballs. All obviously made in house. On the other hand, we waited more than an hour. Their patio was full and the takeout orders appeared to be heavy. Maybe they could have warned us or checked in as time passed. I don't know. Stopped for a late night meal. Lasagna had a frozen taste but I could tell if it was fresh it would have and could have been amazing. The bread was served with our meal, as opposed to an appetizer but it was super good! Pizza was fresh and had a good fresh sauce! Waitress seemed pushy and in a hurry, but this was late night so I guess it was expected. I will have to try again during peak hours to see If meal is above and beyond my expectations. Waited nearly an hour for our food on a Wednesday evening for dine in. My wife's food and mine came out together; mine was hot, her's was lukewarm. My son's pizza didn't come out for another 10 minutes. Food was average at best. read more

They told me 25 minutes for my pick up order but it took almost an hour. Then when I got my order home the tins were not sealed correctly so my backseat of my car was dripping with pasta sauce out of the bag. I called them up and they denied everything. Not the first time I had an issue with them. The last time they forgot one of my dishes. I would not recommend them to anyone. Or if you go there check your order first before you leave. read more

I absolutely adore this place, and this is coming from someone who grew up in Oregon on the iconic Maria's fare. However, La Rocca's raises the bar for Italian dining in this town, despite two other authentic Italian food outposts (Alberici's and Maria's) and there certainly is no comparison to any of the chain pizza joints around the village. La Rocca's owners are welcoming and friendly. They make you feel like you are actually part of the family (you know, just like Olive Garden wishes it could be, except La Rocca's isn't disingenuous about it). On a few occasions, I have even been treated to complimentary items such as cannoli, hand-made Italian sausage, or glasses of wine (generosity that certainly enhanced the warm feelings my date and I were already enjoying). Granted, it probably helps that I eat there often but, to be perfectly honest, there aren't many other places in Oregon I would bother to eat because they just don't measure up to La Rocca's. The Tiziana's Choice is my favorite pizza there (eggplant, basil, cheeses... yum!) and the fact that there are tasty vegetarian options is greatly appreciated, even though I'm not completely vegetarian, just somewhat health conscious. And to those who complain about delays, it all depends on when you order. I guarantee that most weeknights would present no trouble at all to receive your food in a very timely manner. And it's only because La Rocca's is popular (and for good reason) as well as the fact that they don't slop things together but rather take their time (like any truly authentic Italian cooking ought to), that some delays may occur. We just tried this pizza place out for the first time tonight. We ordered the Meat Lovers Stuffed Crust. Which we learned that their crust is not actually stuffed with cheese but rather the pizza has two crusts (one on top and one on bottom). It did taste good, though not sure it was amazing enough for me to order there again. But I'm not saying it wasn't good, just not my favorite style if pizza. read more

Last weekend we wanted pizza...shocking I know. What we really wanted was Paisan's but it was still closed due to the fire and we did not want to go have our norms. So...that when I turned to Facebook. You know...it is amazing how many people have different opinions on pizza. Personally I am a simple guy when it comes to pizza.....or not like Pizza Pit single but...simple. No fancy dance topics, no weird french fry topping, no Neapolitan....just plain old good Italian pizza with cheese and the basic toppings. So....going off the advice of one our our friends we tried the "other" pizza place in Oregon...La Rocca's. We showed up early as people with babies do and were seated right away. It is cute place and I know if I throw my back out while eating pizza the chiropractor is right next door. We got some wine, some cheese bread that was very good and yeah...I cannot complain about the service or the atmosphere. I know I should give this review a higher rating but I can't because sad to say the pizza was nothing special. In all honesty it tasted like a DiGiorno. I guess it just tasted bland to me and maybe it was an off night. I don't know...I am torn. Yeah...DiGiorno. Am I ruling this place out? No, not at all...it was a good change from our norm but defiantly no Maria's Pizza. But the service and atmosphere rules and they were very accommodating for people with a baby. Excellent pizza, Not the best in the Madison area, but certainly amazing for Oregon. Staff is friendly, appears to be family owned. Prices are ok, ingredients are fresh. This family run restaurant has a quiet friendly ambiance and simple but tasty food. After 6 years on Willy Street in Madison, the La Rocca family relocated their restaurant to this space on the edge of Oregon just off of Highway 138. My personal favorite is the Veggie Rolle which is layers of vegetable pasta with cheese and sauce all rolled up. I am not a vegetarian but love this dish nonetheless. The house red sauce is very tasty and made in house. In fact, everything is made in house which can sometimes lead to delays. On my last visit my companion and I waited 15 minutes for bread to be brought to the table because it was still in the oven. I recommend La Rocca's for a quiet date, families, and later in the evening, for groups. read more

We've gone out to dinner here twice and have never had a bad meal. The dining room is small, seven tables, but that adds to the experience of a small town restaurant. The prices are reasonable and the wine selection is really good. We also ordered pizza to go a few weeks ago and loved it. La Rocca's is a wonderful edition to Oregon's restaurant scene. I enjoy their specialty pizzas but where they really shine is in the pasta dishes. This is great because my favorite pizza place in town has only average pasta...so between this place and that place all my Italian food needs are nicely covered! It's not that I don't like the pizza here because I definitely do. When we want a non-traditional pizza this is our place or choice. The spicy aglio olio sauce is our favorite on a pizza topped with cheese, ham, artichoke, etc. super tasty! However, what we like the best is having a date night here. It's really cute and cozy inside, the pasta dishes are absolutely delicious, and the servers are always very friendly and helpful with suggestions. I love the lobster ravioli and my husband is partial to the spicy seafood linguini. I don't believe they have mixed drinks but we can get a good bottle of wine at a decent price. Excellent sauce! There are quite a few pizza options in the area, but I find theirs to be the best (by far). Really tasty crust. And their Arancina (also spelled Arancini = stuffed rice balls) are amazing. There are so few Italian restaurants that make Arancina and even fewer that make it well. read more

A friend and I ate dinner at La Rocca's recently and were really happy with our choices. Between us we had fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, eggplant parmigiana and homemade meatballs with marinara sauce. We both loved our food and ate just about every bite. It was hot, fresh and tasty. The service was great, attentive and timely. I always feel like I'm in Italy when I'm here. The evening was hampered by a large and very loud group -- it's a small place so it's hard to avoid others who might be obnoxious -- but luckily they left before we got our food. Every dish seems to be individually made so it's not a fast place to eat but well worth the wait. On our way out we saw a pizza that looked fantastic. They also have a nice little patio and outdoor seating. I'd love to eat here more often! read more
