The wine selection is outstanding and let them pair your wine with the food to get the best experience. Get a pizza for starters definitely.

In Capri, one simply has the Caprise salad. It was the perfect light lunch to celebrate my visit to this island. My waiter was friendly and I left revived from a 95°F day.

We even saw him take a bite of the communal Parmesan cheese with the spoon from the dish (and the mother returned it to the bowl) which prompted us to not use the Parmesan. The pizzas were hot and fresh, we ordered the Davola and salsiccia e friarielii. Both were delicious but in the end, we love a tomato based pizza the best and should not have wavered. A glass of house wine was surprisingly reasonable at just 5 euro and was a standardly nice, juicy, easy to drink red. The bread was incredibly delicious. The smokiness from the wood oven made it possibly the most delicious bread I can remember eating. No butter. No olive oil. Just delicious. We would have loved to have tried a few of the pasta dishes that looked delicious, so our recommendation for a couple is to get a pizza and a pasta and share them. The salads also looked fresh and large. As many places in Italy, there a fee to sit at the restaurant and be served. 8 euro for both of us. The next day when waiting for our ferry ride, we popped into a pizzeria and grabbed another pizza diavola to go...what a let down. The pizza at buca di bacco was within a euro or two in price and 100% better. If you haven't had a good pizza in Italy and find yourself in Capri, at least grab one or two of their pizzas to go and eat them near the ocean overlook. Don't forget the chili flakes You will be quite content.

HUGE success by us Group of 11 that sat in section served by Sonya. She was one of the best servers I have ever had. Great personality. Great sense of humor. Spoke and understood English. They even have a boat that takes you from the port of Capri to the beach for free, which is definitely a great plus and something not to overlook. The guys who manage the umbrellas and sunbeds were genuinely kind and helpful, and because of them I would have happily come back. Unfortunately, the negative side was the attitude and the feeling of superiority we experienced from one of the waiters. You already pay €160 for four people, and then the umbrella is an additional €12. My mother sat down at the restaurant and said to the waiter, "By the way, congratulations, this is a beautiful place," three times in a row. She was simply trying to communicate with him and compliment him while he was clearly not busy at all. He obviously heard her, but he didn't even bother to turn around and acknowledge her. Not only that, my father was walking toward us while the same waiter was coming from the opposite direction. Instead of simply moving aside to let my father pass, he didn't move at all and almost bumped into him with his shoulder. I'm not saying that he intentionally hurt him, nor am I saying that he should be fired. I simply think that a little humility and basic courtesy should be taught. I am Italian but I live in Los Angeles. I don't consider myself superior to anyone, but I certainly don't consider myself inferior to a 20-year-old who works in Capri either. Responding to customers is basic good manners. A smile is free, and unfortunately, it is truly sad that nowadays, after spending more than €200 (we also ordered food), you can't even expect someone to make the slightest effort to be courteous. Beautiful location and a great concept, but the attitude of some of the staff really takes away from the experience.
