I ordered delivery for my family, kuddos for delivery! Calling and ordering was a breeze, food was here in the window anticipated (30-35 minutes). Food was great, piping HOT, and got chips & salsa! We ordered the carne asada burrito (individual) & the #7 small combo (2 picadillo flautas with rice & beans) - Great prices The carne asada burrito could have used more beef, but it was HUGE. I ordered a Supreme Burrito and was sorely disappointed with what arrived on my plate. The menu described a large burrito with guacamole, sour cream, chicken, and I think some salsa too. I've ordered similar burritos in the past at other locations and expected a nice hearty burrito I could really sink my teeth in. What came out was a skinny, limp "burrito" drenched in enchilada sauce. The sour cream and guacamole were unceremoniously plopped on top of the "burrito" as well, it wasn't even inside. Also the plate was scalding hot and as a result the enchilada sauce had formed an unappetizing top layer of film. My immediate impression was "this is just a giant enchilada that has been microwaved for way too long." I was starving though and ate the thing. The chicken was dry, the sauce was salty, and there was way too much sour cream and guacamole - most likely used to mask the flavors of the burrito. My friends who I came with ordered the 3 taco combo and the steak fajita combo. Their dishes looked as unappetizing as mine. A steaming hot plate of refried beans and dried out rice dominated their plates, accompanied by a small bowl of shredded lettuce and salsa. I did not taste the fajitas but it looked extremely oily and charred. What I did like was the free chips that came with the meal - they were warm and had a very nice crunch. Also the sorbet at the end with the cinnamon tortilla chip was a pleasant way to cleanse my palette of the atrocity I just ate. read more

I have never left here hungry. The restaurant is clean. The service is courteous. The food is good. You get as many free chips as you want and they bring out some sherbet dish at dinners end for dessert. It is, in my book, a bit pricey but I suppose its comparable to other places so I cant hold that against them. They also make a pretty good hamburger if you are in the mood. read more

The pork chunks int he chile verde were so overcooked they were like chucks of sawdust. Totally inedible! The flavors of everything else was actually quite good. The chips were fresh and hot, the chile rellano was cheesy and flavorful, the beef in my wife's burrito was cooked nice and tender. Even the refried beans were more flavorful than most Americanized Mexican restaurants. And despite the friendly service I'm still giving this place only two stars due to such an extreme oversight as to not be able to serve a passable classic Mexican pork dish. read more

We were hungry and the place we were gonna go to was closed. So what did we do? Get some Mexican. It's a typical Mexican restaurant- nothing worth singing about. My enchiladas were decent enough (though pretty bland- I guess I was really hungry), and the chips were nice and hot. Oh, and it was only about 5 minutes from ordering to getting the food. We love the food and a couple of staff members there (gentlemen and younger female who worked on new years) but we have been there a few time since then and the service has gone downhill. This last time was just a sad disappointment. It was almost like they knew they were not being watched by the regular harder workers. Not only did they barely get our food ordered, they got my sons wrong and our food appeared to be sitting if for a while again. Our server never showed back up to help us for the rest of our really long wait and meal. When we went to go pay, nobody showed up at the table because they were all gossiping in the back and our server was gossiping with another coworker at the front desk! Not to mention, half the time we were there, they were running a vacuum cleaner even though the floor looked clean while we are trying to enjoy our time. We are honestly sad that this happened because we do love some of the workers there and their food was good, but the more recent hires don't want to work it appears. I hope they get better at their service, because I do think they could fix these issues. read more

Delivery was super fast! They said it would be around 30 min and it was there in basically 20-25 min. It wasn't very long at all. The food wasn't that great though. we got chicken enchiladas and the carnitas burrito. Everything tasted pretty bland. Not enough salt in the beans. The meat in the burrito and enchiladas was very dry and the carnitas had some tough, hard, burnt pieces. I gotta say I was sooo hoping their food would be delicious because they also don't charge for delivery either! But sadly, I have to be honest and I wasn't impressed. Not sure I will come here again. I had a chicken burrito with mole. It did not taste like mole sauce at all, actually more like Indian food. The chicken was obviously boiled at some point.... not fresh grilled. As a person who grew up here in forest grove I was extremely unhappy to hear that a waiter / the staff here allowed a couple to call some very close family friends child "A THING" multiple times because he was fussy and a little loud. Not only did they yell it to my friends but they also reiterated it to the waiter over and over again causing my friends family to move her husbands birthday dinner to another booth as they felt uncomfortable and angry. THAT COUPLE SHOULD HAVE HAD THEIR FOOD PACKED AND ASKED TO LEAVE, children especially toddlers get fussy. And this was less about the complaint they were making and more about the DEGRADATION by what I am assuming is a white couple yelling "shut that THING up". That is dehumanizing hate speech. THEY should have been moved not my friends family. Also it's supposed to be a FAMILY MEXICAN RESTAURANT AND THEY FELT COMFORTABLE ENOUGH TO YELL THESE THINGS TO A MEXICAN FAMILY. Overall this needs to never happen again and hopefully that couple was asked to not come back. If la Sierra wants to make this right they can pass along a contact to me and I can give it to my friends who experienced this lack of action on behalf of the staff until then I've addicted my family and friends to not eat her again as they clearly allow heckling. read more

Me and my roommate always get hardcore nacho cravings, and La Sierra is always there to satisfy. Great service and delicious, authentic food - especially the nachos! Im from California, but i go to Pacific University, so I have high standards for Mexican food, and La Sierra does not disappoint. I recently had a good experience here, so I brought my family here for dinner. Tonight was the opposite. Literally one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. The food was extremely greasy and bland. Couldn't even eat my nachos because of the amount of grease and cheese. The chips were so soggy, I couldn't pick them up. And they didn't bring enough silverware for the table. I had to give my son mine and ask for a spoon, which was also for him. Had to ask for a water with a lid for him and extra napkins. No offer of chip/salsa refill, but I guess that's okay since the chips tasted stale. It wasn't busy but the service was very slow and there were lots of staff on the clock. We sat there with half eaten plates pushed to the side of the table for ten minutes trying to leave. My husband finally flagged someone down and waited at the front with our son to pay while I loaded the baby up in the car. Fist time I have ever considered leaving without paying (we didn't, but when no one comes to check on you or bring you a bill and the food is terrible, the thought crosses your mind). The bathrooms were dirty and out of paper towels, which was also a bummer. This would be 0-1 star if I hadn't had a good experience recently (same time of day and server on a weekend, so not sure what went wrong?). Good luck if you go here. I took my kids here because they raved about the "huge" nachos. I thought, being a single mom on a budget, it was a great idea to be able to have a "lunch date" with my kids. So, we went. I ordered them the "Special Nachos" to split for them, and the bean tostada for me. We were sorely disappointed. The beans were bland and the nachos only served one. I've been to Taco Bell where I could pay less than what I paid there and get way more for my price. However- the service was great. That is why I will go back and try it again. I've been here a few times with no problems. Called in an order tonight about 6pm, they say order ready in 10 mins. Come by about 1 hour later and order still isn't ready. This place is great! The other reviews that compare it to Taco Bell are a little ridiculous. This place is a no frills, small town mexican restaurant and it's perfect! The food comes out super fast, the staff is very friendly and they have TONS of options on the menu. Mexican food is my all time fave food and of course this isn't the best I have ever had but is exactly what I expected the first time I ate there. Solid Mexican food, some of the best I've had since moving to the area. Solid chimichangas, though its pretty hard to do fried burritos badly. Also, a good delivery option when pizza is really the only other choice for a lazy dinner night.
