I really want to like this place and give them more stars because the staff are friendly and welcoming but today dining in, the tables are dirty as well as the floors. The food is solid average with nothing standing out though I have to say that they seem to have the best asada in town. Bad service overall ordered a burrito lady asked if I wanted sour cream she said it came with the burrito so I asked for it on the side when I came to pick up I saw a $4 charge on my receipt I told her I didn't want it as she never told me it was an extra change she said no refunds and she couldn't explain the extra charge cause she was "busy" . Highly recommend if you want something that tastes like a home cooked meal. Food takes some time to come out but always comes out great. If you want something fast go to Taco Bell down the street. When I am hhhuuunggrryyy, Mexican food always hits the spot. We ordered here a week or so ago and the food was amazing. We had a long wait but in our eyes that means food is good. It was true that night!. Fast forward to tonight. I'm pumped! Starving and ready for some delightful food! 40 minute wait, send my son to pick up food and bamb, time to eat!! Noooooooooo!!!! I ordered the Camerones a la crema and Devin Jenkins ordered the camarones a la Diabla and they were not edible. Shrimp was tougher than a burnt petite sirloin steak that was left on the counter. No big deal, we call and are told we could get a refund if we come back in (shrimp was so awful that a remake was not an option) Awesome! Not! Husband calls in a new order to la Sierra for us so we could eat something edible and he heads to go get refund. When he gets there they were rude and didn't want to give him the refund. Each plate was $14.75. I don't expect it to be gourmet but I expect to be able to eat it. They were rude to my husband and persisted to make getting a refund difficult. Long story short, 1 night of bad food isn't a big deal... however, treating your customers Iike crap for wanting a refund of food they couldn't even chew is a huge deal! Especially when the order was over $80 and we only wanted a refund of 2 meals that were not edible. Rant over. Never again. read more

On multiple occasions I have had to wait 30+ minutes for my food, regardless if I called in my order or not; while also watching other people who came in after me get served. Today I placed an online order (which gave an estimated time of 35 mins) and didn't even go to the restaurant until 45-50 mins later, they said it wasn't done so we waited another 30 mins. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Forest Grove. I like to get the tacos because they're only $1.25 each and are piled with meat, cilantro, and onions. The burritos are also fairly cheap and just as packed with the carne. I tend to get both, tacos and burritos since it's too hard for me to decide between the two :) Lengua is my meat of choice. If you didn't know, lengua means tongue in Spanish. But don't let that turn you off; the meat is so tender and full of flavor that you won't even remember you're nomming on a cow's tongue. Waste not, want not! The restaurant itself is not in stellar shape (no pun intended) and there is no waiter service. Also, the food takes quite a while to be made, so sit back and enjoy the telenovelas on the flatscreen for 15 minutes or so. However the last time i ordered this burrito i found a GIANT piece of plastic right in between all that chicken and rice and delicious goodness. Sometimes people complain about the wait at Tacos La Estrella. That is because their food is made up fresh to order. The wait is worth it. I've had everything on the menu except menudo which is a specialty. I just don't care for it but others have said it was good. The best things on the menu are the Green Pork Enchiladas, Chicken Fajita Burritos, Carne Asada and the Posole tastes like home made. The Salsa de Aguacate is awesome. I've been eating there for over 15 years regularly and have never once had a bad meal. The regular salsa is home made with fresh cilantro and is a staple. The fireman can often be seen eating there and usually know good food. Try them out you will not be disappointed and if anything goes amiss which rarely happens they will go out of their way to make you happy and fix it. read more

Im sure most of the meat is cooked and tacos assembled to order with the exception of fish. 45 minutes seemed like a very long time to wait for Taco's. We walked in the door and the first thing we saw was a stack of dirty dishes....which is evidently where you put your dirty dishes when you're done. Right by the front door. Ummmm.....Ick.
