Food still yummy. Updated menu and pricing. The family packs are great deal. Still not the greatest inside, but food is good. Got the Caldo de Res.

I've been hesitant to try Ochoas for a long long time now, primarily because of some of the negative reviews. Plus there's a long list of Mexican food joints all over Hillsboro. And I've had my fair share of bad ones in the area. Not as great a folks advertise it to be. However when I first stepped foot on Ochoas' greasy floors, I knew this place would be exceptionally legit! Here's what I've tried and here's what I dig about Ochoas: ~ Their variety of Combos (about $12-14). I've done their tacos enchiladas, and chicken fajitas type of combos and man they've been belly filling silly! So stuffed, so good! SO worth it! I would reduce a star due to tortillas being sold separately, but I didn't mind not having tortilla. ~ Two recommended plates, the Tacos Dorados ($14) and the Enchiladas Suisa ($16) man'o'man are these plates are dope! I usually get them filled with chorizo, but I say get them with campechano (asada and chorizo). Super flavorful! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Their lengua and pastor are also tasty! ~ My favorites are actually their breakfast burritos. Chorizo is chorizo, but their Combo breakfast burrito ($9.50) is filled with sausage, ham, cheese, and stuffed with eggs they're not shiesty about adding. Can't go wrong with their breakfast burritos! ~ I'll be honest here, I wasn't really a fan of their tamales. They look good, but I've had better. Not enough to reduce a star either. ~ Legit "Salsa Bar" that usually has six different types. Loved a lot of them too! But really it depends on what salsa goes with what. ~ Another bonus, they've got a catering booth at the Orenco Station Farmer's Market! As far as dining-in, it's nothing fancy. Clean enough to eat there even though I mentioned the floor condition earlier lol. Had to tell them to kick on the heater when it was cold too. Regarding service, I've have to turn up my broken Spanish, but for the most part they've been patient enough to take my order with ease. No issues with service. Again it confirms the legitimacy. That's all I've got to say, and to me they're "one of the best for Mexican food in Hillsboro". I don't care about the negative reviews and what others may think. I say, if you're hesitant like I was, give them a try them and compare for yourself. If you've got a place that's better, let me know.

We stopped in for some late-night bites while we were in the area, and Ochoa's delivered like they always do! The Tacos Dorados are my absolute go-to, and I got them with carnitas this time around--they were perfectly crispy and delicious. Steph was craving a bean and cheese burrito, which hit the spot as well. The staff here is friendly as always, and you can tell the food is made to order and fresh. One thing to keep in mind if you haven't been: getting there can be a little bit of a challenge! You really have to know exactly where the driveway or alleyway is tucked into the one-way downtown grid, or you'll find yourself circling the block. The food was great overall, though I will say the refried beans were uncharacteristically under-seasoned this time. That's definitely an outlier for them, so we'll be back for sure, especially for their gorditas, which are another usual favorite with our group!

Food: The best tacos I have had in the area! Most are only $2.50 each. The birria tacos are $3 and are cooked to a cheesy perfection -- crispy shell, gooey cheese, and juicy tender meat. The Al Pastor tacos are packed with flavor, I really like their seasonings. The Lengua is extremely tender and juicy as well, and tastes like it was marinaded in a beef broth. The grilled onions are deliciously sweet. I appreciate that the tacos come with a mountain of onions and cilantro and limes to the side so that you can adjust the amount to your liking. Salsa bar is located near the cash registers. Service: Food & drinks are delivered to tables, but then you must bus your own table. If you need a box, you must go ask for one. Ambiance: Frequented by families and workers taking their lunch breaks. Also seems to be a popular spot for caterers. The dining space is unfortunately quite unclean - we only found one table in the whole restaurant that was somewhat clean, despite most of the others being empty. I would return for these delicious tacos. Fair price, huge portions, amazing taste. Would probably take it to go next time!

    Ochoa's Super Taco plate - 2 soft, 2 crunchy, 2 taquitos

Hmmmm. Well, mixed feelings for sure. I have always meant to try Ochoa's as their food stand at our neighborhood market seems to always be slammed. We finally dropped in last week. It's a counter order set up, seat yourself afterwards and your meal will be brought to the table. Apparently loads of menu offerings, although I had a bit of trouble ordering. There is a wall of plate options pictured inside. However after asking what a couple of the plates consisted of and seeing a line building behind me, I just ended up picking the Super Taco plate. At least I'd know for sure I'd like what arrived at the table. Our super taco plates arrived super fast, and super hot. They do not short you on food, as the tacos were certainly stuffed with meat. The flavors were good too, quite authentic tasting ...not too heavy on the heat but a bit spicy. I especially enjoyed the crunchy tacos, their shells are fabulous. We really enjoyed our food overall, just a bit disappointed you don't get chips & salsa, and that they don't sell margaritas. But I'd say the food we had was a strong 4. My big negative would be the place. The condition leaves a bit to be desired. Everything seemed a bit less than sparkling clean, as well as somewhat run down. Lots of ripped seats and outdated furnishings, giving me the overall feeling that a deep cleaning and maintenance/reno is overdue. I'd give the restaurant feel a generous 2. Good food for sure, but I would have to stick to take-out or wait for the farmers market to return to try it again.

First time coming to Ochoa's but not the last. Service was fast and friendly. They seem to have a pretty large menu with everything pictured up on the wall which just makes you want to order more than you need lol. Fresh salsa bar is also a plus. Very solid dinner for $12.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the entire area. I've always felt comfortable eating inside or outside and buying food to go when I'm working in their area. Most importantly the food is outstandingly delicious, they give you everything you need and I have never been disappointed. I eat everything, but truly love goat meat and they over a number of options like Barbacoa and Quesataco Birria (cheese & goat meat)...delicious! Next time I'm going to order Tripe Tacos, a Soba Cubana and a Vegetarian Burrito for my wife. Please visit Ochoas and make your stomachs happy.

Ochoa's is among the most authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. There's an Express grill tucked behind the restaurant open on the weekends - will order from there next time! The aqua de fresca juice are so good! The redeeming factor of ordering inside the restaurant is eyeing the horchata and fresh juices. After placing my food order, the large pitcher of mango aqua de fresca juice caught my eye and looked so temping. Glad I went for it and snagged a cup! So sweet and refreshing, perfect for the summer. The fajitas missed the mark. While the grilled peppers and onions were tasty, the overstuffed fajita was greasy and smothered in cheese and fell apart. The side of of sad brownish guac along with the bland rice and refried beans didn't do much for me. While I hate wasting food, my stomach started churning and threw in the towel 2/3 of the way while hubby was defeated by the super cheesy chicken enchilada after a few bites. We were both pretty bloated afterwards. The house-made nachos were lightly salted and tasty, they were the best part of our meal! Wish there were more vegetarian options on the menu, veggie nachos would be great! Seems like casual is the way to go as there was a steady line forming at the express grill. Will skip the restaurant and head straight over to the grill and try the veggie tacos and ask about the aqua de fresca - next time!

After a month abroad in Southeast Asia, a good pozole and torta is just what I needed.

One of my favourite Mexican place in Hillsboro. Love their torta cubana, l of adex with beef, chicken, sausage, and eggs. Tacos are great too. You do have to wait a bit as it gets busy but the trick is call in n your order 10 minutes before and you just go to the front and pick it up.

First time here and I really enjoyed the food, staff was super friendly and accommodating. Large portions as you can see and I ended up taking half home. I will be coming back and try the outside seating and grilling. I walked to the back and the chicken on the grill looked yummy. I will say the girl at the counter took it well when some clown was yelling at her. People lack self respect and yelling at someone gets you nothing. People who work in customer service shouldn't have to endure abuse from angry people especially at a family restaurant. I'll be back to support this business.

If you're craving the authentic taste of Mexican food... this is the spot! We tried a few things at the Hillsboro farmers market when Ochoa's had a booth set up a while back. I've passed by this location several times but haven't made it in. It's located in Downtown Hillsboro and I really dislike driving on one way streets so I always miss it, but not today! I eagerly made that turn into the driveway, hungry and not in a hurry to peruse the large menu for the perfect items to satisfy my hankering for good authentic Mexican food. I was in search of a special item that reminded me of my grandmother and my childhood. I found it and settled on the Gorditas. Let me just tell you...it made me very happy to savor these delicate but sturdy enough to hold the beans, carne asada, sour cream, lettuce, tomato and topped with cojita cheese stuffed cornmeal pockets. The best way to describe a Gordita is that it's a fried sope (cornmeal) that puffs up to a fat (Gordita) little pocket (like a pita) but made of cornmeal. So deliciously chewy, crispy and still light and not greasy. Sprinkle your choice of sauce inside and go to town! My mouth is watering just describing this again to you! My husband was craving crunchy tacos and those hit the spot for him as well. They did put a small layer of beans at the bottom of his tacos. The meat (carne Asada) was flavored great. $12.00 for a plate of 3 Gordita's or 4 hard (Dorado)tacos. I enjoyed a Horchata and hubby had a Jarritos Tamarindo bottled soda. I honestly feel like I would drive the one way streets that I despise again knowing that the end game was Ochoa's!

Traditional authentic Mexican fare, fast table service that consistently has patrons, dining area mostly booths, would say you can't go wrong having a meal here.
