This is my go to casual spa place to go for a facial. There's parking out front (2 hour) an also on the side that's longer. The spa itself isn't super luxurious but definitely gets the job done. You can just tell them the price you got from the Groupon and they'll match it for you so better to just pay with them since Groupon takes 50% of their proceeds. They were quick to return my call by text to help book two oxygen facials. Each room is for one client only. I was given a disposable bra since your top will need to be off. The bed is heated, and I wish I had worn lighter pants because it was almost too warm. Relaxing music played throughout the appointment. What stood out most for me was the massage, the facial steaming, and the extractions, which were pretty intense. I had way more whiteheads on my nose than I expected. I did wish my esthetician talked through what they were doing, since some steps were new to me, like the zap-sounding tool, the light (?) mask where they left the room for aand the hot stone rub. I also loved the cool face mask brushed on over a net-like layer and the pressure around my temples. I would have appreciated a bit more neck-focused massage. After the facial, my hair was pretty messy and oily, and my nose was a little red. The next day, one extraction spot was still red. All of that is normal and temporary. Parking was easy, and I found a spot right in front. I also appreciated the candies by the checkout area. She even did my eyebrows, which was a really nice surprise. So I came back today for a Hydra Microdermabrasion session. Irene is no longer working here. Vicki took care of me today. The facility itself has been well kept. Clean, cozy and comfortable. They provided disposable bra for ladies in preparation for facial sessions. Facial package also comes with eye brow cleanup and a quick massage over neck and shoulder. The Hydra Microdermabrasion session here was definitely worth it. My face has been deeply cleaned and shiny. I rested well. Got a Groupon gift for the 90 min oxygen facial, and it was a fantastic experience! Lina's a total sweetheart who makes you feel welcome and relaxed. The facial was one of the best I've had. I was amazed by how thorough and gentle her extractions were, and the massage was just lovely, especially if you like a lighter touch that feels like it just came out of a Youtube ASMR video. Some might prefer more pressure, but I'm sure you can just let her know. The spa felt elegant, but some noises (e.g. phones, people talking) might transfer since the room walls don't reach the ceiling. I personally enjoy having background noise, but if you're bothered by that, it's something to keep in mind. There's a parking lot next door and lots of street parking too. It seems like there's still Groupon deals available, but I recommend calling her before you buy any to see if she can match the price. 1 star goes to Sharon. Out of all the facial places I've ever been to, she's the only person asking for a tip after doing a terrible job on me. She's extremely heavy-handed and her extraction hurts as if she's trying to forcefully drill a hole in my skull and press my head into the massage bed. Trust me when I say this because after years of regular facial appts at different places, my pain threshold has certainly been built up. First she called and told me during the day to come earlier in the afternoon than scheduled. I did my best cutting through traffic after work to accommodate her. At the end of my facial she then had the audacity to ask for a tip point blank, saying tip is not included in my facial package. I'd say that was most definitely coercion. Worse yet, I ended up getting pimples the very next day after my facial, which rarely happens to me. I'm utterly disappointed at their service to say the least. It was such a ripoff and thank goodness my package has almost come to an end. I'll continue sharing this review on other online platforms to warn other customers. I'll also consider reporting this to the official regulatory agencies. If you're looking for a decent facial experience in the area without the pressure to tip after a horrendous treatment, I suggest you go to Dee Dee Boutique on Broadway, which is no more than a 5-min drive away. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. Came in for a facial since I am pregnant, my skin has been going through some changes so I just wanted to get it settled and cleaned. I came in for a microdermabrasion and it was amazing. You come in, get your face cleaned, get to relax, shoulder neck and head massage all while your face is going through their process of cleaning, picking, sucking, cleansing and relaxing. I even took a little nap since the facial runs about an hour and a half. I woke up feeling sad that I had to leave. The vibes there are so relaxing.. I used to go here a lot and even all through Covid I picked them over other places, even when they didn't have enough staff to accommodate me. My server Vicki is pretty good but their management is super shitty. I had to cancel twice because I was feeling sick (one time it was Covid and another time I had a cold) and thought that it's best to not go for everyone's safety. Then I went in two more times and after a few weeks when I reached out to them to get my next appointment, the manager said that they won't accommodate me because I canceled twice in the past. I guess they don't need loyal patrons anymore because things are back to normal. This is super unprofessional and something I don't expect in the Bay Area. This is a good place for a facial, if you're not looking for any in-depth knowledge. Honestly all the facials on their list look more or less the same to me. When I told them what I was looking for and asked for recommendations, the lady pointed to 3-4 different facials but it only confused me even more. I ended up getting the LED Photo Therapy which was supposed to help me with my freckles and sun spots. It's something you definitely have to do more than once though. If it's your first visit, the facials are all heavily discounted (almost 50%) and the only discount you'll get in the future is if you buy a package of 10. If you get a package of a certain type of facial that costs the same as other facials, you can interchange the types you get. Since I'm looking for more when I get a facial, I don't think I would come back. I wanted to get more feedback on my skin's current condition but all she said was that it was dry, which I've never heard in my life since my skin has always been combination. I think maybe she meant dehydrated. She told me to use more serums to help with it. Coming here seemed like only a temporary solution. read more

English is not their primary language, but you can get get by (read the tips). Tips: 1.) Book on a weekday, they get busy on the weekends and they are able to spend a lot more time with you. 2.) Their primary language is Cantonese, but you can totally get by on Mandarin!Just Kidding!! They speak some English, just don't expect any pleasantries. If you only speak English, definitely would recommend booking on a weekday your first time and calling ahead to check how busy the ladies are. 3.) Buying a pack of facials gets you this passport card thing, makes it cheaper and easier. 4.) This is a serious facial! Extractions can sometimes hurt, and some of the peels can sting, but it's for your own good. The majority of the masks and peels and face vaccumming and massaging and zappy roller ball thing feel relaxing. I've been going for like a year now and they're still awesome! Just finished my second facial session at La Sini with my esthetician, Sharon. I've had three facial experiences here at La Sini and they were all pleasant thus resulting in my final decision to purchase a packaged deal. My first time here was over year ago when the bf and I came in for a Microdermabrasion facial with a first-timer promotion of just $49!! I was surprisingly pleased with the whole process. But I never bought at packaged deal cause it was a hefty amount to pay at once and I wanted to try out other places before making a final decision. I've tried a few other salons around the area to Burlingame and San Mateo. But after a while, I stopped doing facials in general cause life got busy and I got lazy :( UNTIL recently, I noticed my skin was getting extremely drier than usual from the weather and I was breaking out from stress. So the first name that popped up in mind was La Sini! I called in to book an appointment and Sharon greeted me on my first visit back. She made a assessment on my skin and recommended I do the LED Acne Photo Facial. After discussing the treatment, I was led into a room where I changed into a wrap towel and laid in a bed with a heated blanket. Sharon then puts a steamer on my face to open my pores. I liked how she shielded and protected my eyes with this goggle thing (like the ones you use in tanning). Five minutes later, she started extracting my blackheads and pimples. After, she uses two machines on my face to kill bacteria and to help minimize and close pores. Then she plucks and shapes my brows! say wahtt!! o.o After, she puts a soothing mask on me so I can relax all while she massages my neck, back, shoulders, and head. (Thee best part!! i always fall asleep). After the mask and massage, my face was cleansed, wiped, and moisturized. I was really surprised with how my face turned out even right after the facial. THEE single one reason why i'm always hesitant to do facials is cause I have very sensitive skin and my face tends to puff up all swollen and hive-looking afterwards. Therefore, I was really surprised with how subtle and non-inflamed my face looked. I was even still able to go out after when in the past, i would remain home for a day or two just to hide from all the stares and glares. With a total of 90 minutes, Sharon has given me a full pampering experience from facial to massage and even brow shaping!? Besides the extraction part (which can be pretty painful), everything was relaxing and enjoyable. I also really liked how professional the staff were and how clean and calm the environment was. Sharon was very informative about my skin and never once tried to sell me products from their store but only gave me recommendations on what types of products or regime to use for my skin. I've been doing a few facials with Kayla. She is undoubtedly the best! I have acne skin and extraction has been the most painful part of my facials. Kayla's extraction has been the least painful among all aestheticians' I had before. Thanks to Kayla, my painful facial experience is turned into delight. Another great thing is that I don't experience any downtime after a facial. When I was doing facials at some pricy places including Skin Spirit, they always left me out with red skin. It often took me hours to recover and start to see people. La Sini has very reasonable price, and has applied most techniques (microdermabrasion, high frequency) that are used by pricy places (yes I'm talking about Skin Spirit which I have been for years before moving to the Bay Area). The only technique that La Sini doesn't use is acid which I have never seen any effect on my face anyway. I recommend La Sini and Kayla a million!!! read more

Throughout the years, my treatments had changed from hydration, relaxation, skin-clearing, to now microdermabrasion - yes ladies, I'm seeking early help in this much dreaded growing up (I ain't saying its name!) process. Even though sometimes Sue scolds me about getting too much sun during vacation, or being too forgetful about taking care of my skin at home, I know she's saying them for my benefits. Of course it is always a bit scary going to a skin care place for the very first time. My friend recommended this place and after doing thorough research on what I felt my skin can handle, I thought maybe the LED photo facial would be more suitable for my sensitive dry skin. Sharon was the lovely lady who helped me! She also recommended the LED photo facial. Let me just say the most painful part (I did tear a bit) were the extractions, but it's so worth it! I fell asleep in the middle of the actual LED part. I was so relaxed. She massaged my face multiple times and massages my upper chest, back and shoulders. Probably one of the best parts! But everything about my session with Sharon was truly relaxing and rejuvenating. Definitely will be coming back after my vacation! UPDATE: I did purchase the Le Meiux 5% Glyco polymer solution from them where Sharon said it is suitable for my skin type. She said originally it was 43$ but gave it to me for 34$ because of discount. Although I do enjoy the product (it helped get rid of my dry patches all over my skin), I should say to not get the product from here. I feel like she really lacked knowledge in the product. I had to do further research on application and how often to apply it. Luckily, before trying it out, I did my research and the actual website said to do it at night ONLY, 1-2 times a week. This is information I was not told when buying the product. Although I enjoyed the facial, I do think it's important to be careful when they offer you their skin care products. On Le Mieux website, it retails for 30$. At la sini, it's 43$ but I got a "discount" so just be aware! 4$ isn't a lot but just make sure you know what you're buying especially at that price. After all, I had just purchased a 12 pack facial and eye treatment just two months before the change. Fortunately, the previous owner sent out a letter indicating that the new owners were aware of my treatment history, the products that were used and will continue my treatments seamlessly. Much like I go to a particular salon because of the stylist, I go to a facial place because of the therapist. Needless to say, I was extremely skeptical prior to receiving my first treatment. I've been to this place three times since the ownership change and I must say that I really like the professionalism and care that these ladies have placed into the business. They have a new waterfall/fountain and mood music to match. It's really easy for me to relax and fall asleep while getting my treatments done and a great place for me to unwind. I've been seeing Anna who really cares about my skin. She doesn't try to up sell treatments or product. Instead, she evaluates my skin and gives it the TLC it requires. She's not afraid to use additional product or treatment if my skin needs it and I truly enjoy her sweet demeanor. She's very gentle with my extractions and I never feel uncomfortable with her. Let's face it (pun intended), facials are a very personal thing and when treated with unfamiliar hands, it can create some anxiety. Here's the thing..I have my go to skincare place buuuuut...sometimes I'm bad at making appointments. When I want a facial, I want a facial..in this case, I wanted it on a Sunday which limited my options even more. I call around places only to hear endless ringing phones or obnoxious automated answering machines..so when someone actually answered at La Sini I was caught off guard. It was kinda late on a Sunday afternoon and she actually didn't have any available appointments so I was like ehhh I'll just wait and do it another day. Well, the next day I still wanted a facial so I called and she was able to fit me in within the hour. Lucky me. So I walk in, greeted somewhat rudely telling me to "fill out form"...hi to you too? I fill this paper about my skin and I'm led into a creepy little hallway into an even smaller room. This room seriously was like a jail cell. I get situated and lay down on the table..oh don't worry, my feet are hanging off. Oh wait, they're cramed against the wall too. I'm laying there for 5 minutes until another woman comes in, I forget her name. She looks over my skin in complete disgust..no lie, and proceeds to tell me how terrible my skin is and how I need all these products. Okay first of all, my skin may be a little dry, and I have blackheads here and there but I'm sorry lady, I don't have dark circles, fine lines and rosacea. As far as the facial was concerned, it was fine. Okay, it was better than fine, it felt great..massage? You got it. After it was over, I got dressed, walked to the front where she pushed for me to buy a series of facials for a low low price of whatever it was. I said no in more ways than one.."no thanks", "ohh, no it's okay", "not right now"....but she would just repeat herself over and over. No means no lady. When it all comes down to it, if the woman approached me better and was a bit more friendly...and my feet didn't hang off the bed this place wouldn't be half bad. I lucked out and tried a facial here one day, and now I'm going there on a regular basis after purchasing a 3-pack. Irene is a great and attentive facialist because she takes her time, and gives great massages on my neck, shoulders, and head. She has always taken care to do the facials and I never felt rushed by her. There were times where it took 2 hours to do a facial which shows that the estheticians are not just looking at the clock, but focused on doing a good job. The process and products they use to seem to be high quality, and my skin usually looks great afterwards. They never try to force you to buy any products as well, nor up-sell you which I really appreciate. I very much enjoy going to La Sini Skincare and would recommend it to anyone!
