I spoke with who I guess is the owner of the store. I clicked on his website to verify pricing. Nothing is updated does not have a 550-watt generator. (Doesn't sound knowledge of owning a business...in my opinion) Tells me that he has a generator and then tells me he has a different generator. Offers me a price and when I tell him I am interested to pay for a generator Decides to pass on a client who is willing to pay for generators, who does that? Just awful customer service. His voice mailbox is full so you can't leave any type of voicemail for him to contact back. Had to call multiple times until he could finally answer his phone. I went in to meet with someone at the business yesterday and he was really helpful, me and my gf were ready to rent a projector. I called to confirm today and Brent the owner answered and pretended like he was the one i spoke to (he wasn't). I asked if he could include the projector screen in the rental and he went manic and lost his mind and said he doesn't even remember who I am cause they have so many customers. I have rented from quite a few places around Los Angleles but this is the best. They actually came out, set everything up, and spent time explaining how it all works. The owner even gave me his cell phone number. The DJ equipment that I rented was brand new and work flawlessly. I could even rent a generator very cheap at the same time. I will begin by giving credit to the fact that this shop and the owner DID pick up the phone and had availability for an impromptu projector screen- the day before we needed it. Ours wasn't suitable, and didn't find that out until the last minute. I initially looked up rentals on google, and called. The owner I spoke with was informative and direct. He gave me the price, and I told him I would talk to the rest of my group regarding the price. Which is exactly what I did- and they all agreed we should first try to find something a bit closer and hopefully more reasonably priced, (as he mentioned the set up would be an additional charge). So, this time I went to Yelp, and happened to call the same business back- not checking the name before calling. He cuts me off and says, "You literally just called me. Look here, if you can't afford it- be honest." First of all, money wasn't the issue. Yes, I understand the fact it was VERY last minute and the chances of finding a rental were slim to none. However, consider people calling around to find more options. Everyone does it. I don't need you yelling at me over the phone, talking to me like I'm beneath you- berating me for a whole 3 minutes. Money wasn't the issue, at least from my perspective. I went along with what the group wanted me to do. Due to the customer service, or lack there of- we went along and purchased our own screen within an hour, for about $100 LESS than what he quoted us to rent- and it is sturdy, worked amazingly, and will last us a long time. So happy with our decision to NOT utilize this company. I certainly hope his staff isn't treated the way he treats potential customers. read more

I was really nervous about renting equipment/getting delivery from a company I had never worked with before. Brent eased those worries. I had an event where I needed to rent a 55" tv/display stand, and I'm super glad I booked LA Sound Rentals, because everything worked out and boy was I happy/relieved! It would have been cheaper if I brought my own equipment and hired setup guys, but when you've got a load of things to worry about, sometimes you just want to hire professionals. I had a last minuet request from a client for a live video feed, which isn't the easiest thing to set up, especially since the client required one video signal to be projected to two places (one of the rooms greater than 150 ft away). I came to LA Sound Rentals where Brent basically saved me. I got two projectors and he threw in a ton of extra cables and an HDMI splitter for free! He gave me a great deal. I highly recommend this place for the excellent costumer service, well maintained equipment, and laid back atmosphere. This little gem is tucked away, so it's a little difficult to spot. Brent was very helpful and they went above and beyond what we needed on our music video shoot (we needed stage risers and speakers, and they brought an extra stage piece to increase our stage size and it was MUCH appreciated). The price was great and they delivered, set up, and broke down the pieces quickly. That said he was a little slow on sending us an invoice as we'd asked, and they were about 45 minutes late to arrive and 45 minutes late to return.
