In the Colony there isn't as much as my old neighborhood to find good tacos and a great meat market. First trip was a short one so I'll comment on what I seen. Fresh vegetables and plenty to choose from, not like a Kroger but also they're fresh they don't look like they all arrived on a huge produce truck. They may have I don't know but sure look better than most chain store. Meats looked great, lots to select from. I didn't buy any so I'll add that later. I eat a pozole, the plait has flavor but not authentic pozole. the meet in the pozole never come in a big chinks. the pozole has corn, the one I eat has no corn and a lot meat. The Soup has the "menudo/pancita flavor no a pozole. tus pozole it's served with radishes, lemon and chips or tostadas. I got for tortilla. I would said...no auténtico pozole. read more

I have been waiting in agony for months on months for this place to open!!! Literally every time i leave the house i am driving by to see if they have opened and finally today was the day! The parking lot was booming so i immediately pulled in to check things out. They did not disappoint at all. Everything is set up so nicely. The shelves were fully stocked and they had some great deals going on. GIGANTIC avocados, limes were 10 for $1, ugh i was in heaven. Fresh concha, fresh salsa and guac near the front. But the best part of course is the meat counter which was looking lovely as ever. I always go for the seasoned meat just because it's so delicious already and turns out perfect every time. I will be in here every week and from the looks of it they will be very popular in the neighborhood! read more

This is my go-to place to buy pre-marinated fajitas. The place has been very clean every time I've gone which is a huge plus. If you're used to buying from a carnicería you'll know that it's fast paced and you should know what you want before getting up to the counter. Good food and great variety of Mexican delicacies. read more

Went this morning for the Grand Opening. The store was mostly stocked but there was still some open spaces. There wasn't many pan dulce options yet but plenty of space for more. It was very clean and all the employees were very nice. There are many options at the meat counter. I got meat for lunch a dinner today and some fresh bread rolls. We also got tacos and aqua frescos. Can't wait to see this meat market Iron out their kinks. Also, really looking forward to concha and piggy cookies. read more

Be careful shopping at their meat market you might get cross contaminated cheese or meat. I noticed the butchers or deli people don't change their gloves when they cut your meat or cheese. I had to take my cheese back before I left the parking lot. I noticed that the slices were not stacked neatly and were placed randomly in a big mess almost in a ball. I opened it to look and some of the white cheese slices were stained with fingers marks of dirty blood it looked like. I took it back it was gross and no way we're going to eat that. I noticed that the man had not changed his gloves in front of me so that most of been it. It's happened before with another employee but I caught him and told him to change his gloves before he sliced my cheese. Also, their meat from the hot food looks dry and not very appetizing. I tried their rice it was horrible, their beans are ok, their fajita meat is very dry and I didn't care for their chicharones. Their sweet bread is also hard and dry most of the time. I don't recommend this place it's not at all like the stores back in Southern California. I noticed a woman cleaning the hot burnt grease with water from their hot stove before closing time and she wasn't wearing proper clothing to protect herself, no rubber apron, no rubber gloves, no protection at all. This just tells me that their employees are not properly trained all the way around. Do these employees, even have a food handling license???? I wouldn't recommend this place for any perishables. First issue I have ever had like this but thought people should know. While waiting in line to order food behind two white ladies and in front of two Hispanic males. The server then tells us three to go to the store cashier and wait in line to order as he proceed to take the two men behind us and collects there order. I'm not saying this is a race issue but it sure did seem extremely funny as to why all three of us left without ordering anything. Asked to speak to manager and the store rep began to say he only comes every so often that they don't have a number for him. Nice etiquette business that's being run here. Your telling customers that the owner barely shows his face at his own establishment to check on complaints, issues. Nice job buisness man read more

I love this place but they are so slow. There is always only one cashier and if you want to order food from the kitchen it is chaos. The people working in the kitchen are so slow, they don't greet you, and it's very confusing as where to order. They need a supervisor or manager around and need to work the kitchen a different way that's more organized and moves faster. read more

They had tamales on display unlabeled and I assumed they were standard green chicken tamales. I'm happy to help small business so I bought some. Bought $50 worth of items. The staff is rude and I waited in line for one customer in front of me to check out, it took 15 minutes. When it was my turn, the rude cashier tossed the empty shopping basket back at me and told me to put it back at the entrance. Once it got home, the tamales were only dough with literally nothing in them and i payed $5 for two. So much for supporting small business. read more

Not entirely about the bad reviews but I dropped in for a few things and walked out with a ton! The meat selection for arrachera is great (texans call it fajita) and very well priced. They also have tablitas (spare ribs) and marinated chicken that is fantastic. The selection of fresh fruit and veggies is a plus and they are much more reasonable that Kroger. I didn't try the pan dulce but it looked delicious! One thing that I did notice is that it was pristinely clean, organized and everything was well labeled. I didn't try the taqueria but everything looked good there and I will definitely be back for our next party. As for the staff, the manager (or perhaps) the owner was running around stocking shelves, helping customers find things and was very pleasant and personable. The cashier wasn't as much but what can you expect?!? 5 stars for me! read more

So, they claim there tacos are $1.19, yet in the receipt it says $1.99. Ordered without onion and rajas. Guess what? Boom extra in there for you who doesn't like them! Gave them the benefit of the thought, "maybe because it was busy". So I went again, same stuff, tacos weren't too good. I would consider waiting until they improve. I waited months for them to open to be disappointed. Hope they get better but until then I would go somewhere else. read more

Pan dulce is really good but they really need to work on greeting people correctly and those cashiers they need to be nice (Young people)
