Think Chipotle, but much more affordable and with way better, flavor-packed options. Carnitas Quesadilla: I ordered this with Spanish rice, black beans, and onions, paired with their creamy chipotle dip. Absolutely amazing--hands down my new favorite! Baptized Burrito: My husband ordered his covered in queso. While he felt the queso itself was a little mild/bland, the rest of the burrito was packed with flavor. Visited this evening after wanting to try for a while and generally enjoyed our experience here. Think fresher and more expensive chipotle or Freebirds, completely customizable and in any format. I would recommend more sauce options than just ranch for those of us that can't handle spicy, and the steak meat wasn't anything too incredible, but I was overall satisfied with the freshness and variety I got in my bowl. Would I make the drive often for the price? Probably not all the time, but I think it would be worth returning. I'd like to try the ice cream next. I will note something that bothered my partner and I was the fish tank with two (?) large fish and a turtle in it with practically no vegetation (or anything really) inside of it and kids banging on it constantly. The line was practically out the door. It took nearly half an hour to reach the front, but I'm glad we stayed. We ordered margaritas, chicken nachos, the Baptized Burrito, and took some ice cream to go. Their toppings were fresh and perfectly combined, making for an incredible nacho experience! I got a burrito bowl this time and I really liked it. I want to say, I like it better than Chipotle. It's not as spicy which I don't mind but my family aren't spicy adventurers. Generous portions were hot and tasty. I especially liked the spicy pickled cabbage slaw. I just ate Saturday's leftovers today (Monday) and they're still good! One of my favorite tex-mex places to grab take out tacos! What I get: I typically build my own corn tacos or quesadilla with their chicken tinga, peach habenero and creamy jalapeno sauce (on side), grilled peppers and onions, sweet corn, spinach, romaine lettuce, and shredded cheese. The ingredients are always fresh and flavorful. I've tried their margaritas and though the mini gallon is so cute for photos, it's not the best margarita I've had. Atmosphere: Dude they have a freakin turtle - need I say more? A whole turtle tank. I ordered three meats, four salsas, and two rice for take out. The meats were tender and flavorful, the salsas were incredible (habanero is killer), and the Spanish rice was fluffy and delicious. The only issue was the cilantro lime rice as it was overcooked and inedible. Sad story since we ordered two pounds of it and had to throw everything away. My little family was craving tacos and so we gave Casa del Bro a try and we are so glad we did! The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. You've gotta try the jalapeño ranch, it was spicy and so tasty. We ended our meal with a sweet treat from their on site ice cream shoppe. I had a scoop of the dulce de leche and I want a pint in my home at all times. My daughter had a root beer float and my husband had a scoop of the dulce when he saw how much I loved it. The best way i can describe it is as a unique Chipotle without the Listeria. You just order your Mexican style meal as a taco, burrito or bowl and you can pick your meats and toppings. I tried the shredded chicken as a burrito and i was full after but not too full to shovel a house made ice cream Sundae down in the stomach. They make their own ice cream and you can tell!! I suggest you give them a try for an entire meal or go just for the ice cream. Most place's close about 9pm weekdays but this spot is open until 10pm and had a steady stream of to go orders. They don't sell hard taco, but they sell corn chips for nachos. Serving staff looks like high school kids, maybe some are college bound? They are helpful and service oriented. This place is great! Love the atmosphere and music choices! Food and service was great as well. The staff was super chill and fun to talk with. We got the nachos and they were really good! The flavors are on point. My only suggestion would be to possibly use a slightly thicker chip for the nachos so they don't get soggy to quick but overall it was damn good! We also got a couple margs and they're so smooth! Really good and will 100% be back!! One side note for the owners, that poor fish tank needs some love though haha. I use to love coming here cause my daughter enjoyed their chicken quesadilla and staff are sweet. Sadly I can't tolerate MSG and they use it in the rice, tinga, and carnitas.
