We were doing a mini photoshoot in the Main Street area and came across LA Sweetz. After hearing so much about it we had to stop in and check out the buzz. Parking in Main Street itself can be tricky depending on the date and time you go but once you are parked the shop is fairly easy to find. The store front is smaller than I thought it would be from the outside but it's still nice and cozy without feeling tight or constricted. The staff was amazing and answered all questions we had. I bought a red velvet and Reeces cupcake and let me tell you they were amazing! Soft and moist and just perfect for a day like today. Listen...as much as I go to 107 Taste how have I not seen or heard of this place? This is like a little hidden gem with delicious cupcakes. It is taking everything in me not to drive back. So after a quick Yelp search to satisfy my sweet tooth, I came across La Sweetz. Naturally I'd read the reviews beforehand and decided that I wanted to give this place a try after getting my nails done. Boy did it not disappoint. From the minute I walked in, the workers were attentive. The young lady thoroughly explained every cupcake to me and I was sold at "strawberry cheesecake". I ended up getting two cupcakes because for checking in I received a free cupcake. I got the strawberry cheesecake cupcake and the red velvet cupcake. I usually do not eat red velvet cupcakes/cake outside of my own kitchen because others think red velvet is chocolate cake with red food coloring (no that is not a real red velvet cake despite what you've been told). However I could tell from the color that they did not have cocoa in them although the workers couldn't tell me for sure. Once I got home, I devoured those cupcakes. They were minis so nothing to feel guilty about. Both cupcakes were super moist and spongy. The icing on both were delicious as well especially the strawberry cheesecake one. The icing was cheesecake flavored with strawberry drizzle. The actual cupcake though didn't have any cheesecake flavoring to it at all. It tasted more like a vanilla cupcake with the cheesecake icing. I think the next time I will try the guava and get another red velvet or two red velvets. LA Sweetz is located in a quaint area amongst other restaurants, jewelry shops and retail stores. The shop itself is colorful in both decor and presentation and the staff is warm and welcoming and more than eager to explain their menu. I purchased the vanilla, red velvet, guava, caramel cheesecake and dulce de leche cupcake. Every last cupcake I purchased was presented beautifully, freshly baked, moist and full of flavor. I can't tell you how many times I've passed by and yet never actually stepped in. I think the issue is that my sweet tooth as time goes by is dying. The place itself is cute and tiny. It's definitely an in and out sort of place as there's only one table inside with a couple of others outside. They have a lot of specials going on, including a Yelp check-in offer. I think, too, some of my friends posted on Instagram and got free cupcakes. I think the customer service is superb and a lot of businesses could afford to take a page from their book. They also believe in their product. While I enjoyed my time there, I cannot give them five stars. I think I must have gotten the wrong cupcake because I felt hyped up on sugar. I've never had their full size cakes although I know you can order them custom to your event. The service is always warm and friendly. You can count on you classics being there like funfetti vanilla, red velvet, cookies and cream but the fun stuff is in the local spins like guava cream cheese or the seasonal - think salted caramel or pumpkin spice ! They're usually up for deliver through Uber eats if you're in a pinch for dessert and can't make it out the house (especially if you're hosting) and they're reasonably priced. read more
