This is top three bakery in USA. Seriously obsessed, it's small too small to sit and eat which makes me adore it even more. The pastries taste as if they were made right in Paris. This place is a mix of a Korean vibe with a Parisian taste going for it. I can eat every croissant they have available. They had plain croissant, ham and cheese croissants, chocolate croissants, not to mention all of the one of a kind different assortment of dessert pastries. The coffee barista is also a vibe, she really knows how to make a really good latte. She's my favorite, just cause she knows I'm picky and she still manages to make me the best espresso in Closter. My tummy smiles when I come here, always 10/10.

They have a small parking lot right next to the building, which was helpful. The bakery itself was small, mostly, just take out here. During our visit, many people came in here for their bread. A really good sign of their quality! We ordered Matcha Latte and Mocha. The Matcha had the REAL matcha flavor, no artificial flavor, which was great. It had just the right sweetness to it. Mocha was creamy and tasty, strong yet comforting flavor. We decided to have a breakfast right there. This was when we were still allowed to eat in, about a month ago. I ordered Ham & Egg Salad Croissant. My hubby also wanted this item, but it seems like they only offer what is out there on display. And since there was only one...well, I got it! I am not sure why they can't just make another one in the kitchen though... It was a really nice sandwich! My hubby ended up getting the Ham & Cheese Croissant. It had some crispy cheese crust on top, which was really Nice. The ham was fresh, and it had some kind of sauce or aioli inside, which was delightful! We also had Green Tea White Chocolate Scone. It was light and airy, tasty! We took a few extra items to go, so that we can have them later at home. We had Choux, which was filled at the time of order, Gouda Cheese Bread, Miso Bread, and some Brioches. They were all high quality, fresh, and very tasty. Passion Fruit Brioche and Blueberry Brioche were super fluffy, and filled with cream! Great item! We enjoyed every item we tried so far from here. We would definitely go back for more of their quality breads and baked goods for sure!

A cozy little bakery nestled in downtown Closter. There is a lot of competition when it comes to bakeries in the area, but la Tabatiere stands above the rest IMO. Their service is fantastic and everything they make is delicious, from the coffees to the buns to the pastries. You really can't go wrong with anything you get in there. Prices are undoubtedly on the high side, but you are paying for a level of quality that's above most other bakeries out there.

This place is always packed so I was super curious to try it out. However, it is just your typical coffee shop, nothing really special. The pastries do look great though! My coffee was 3.75 but there was just so much ice. Make sure to ask for light ice if you get a cold beverage! There is nice seating outside for instagramable photos :)

The matcha was phenomenal. The flavor was balanced perfectly, not too bitter and not overly sweet, which can be hard to get right. I also liked the experience of ordering through the self-service kiosk and then being able to watch the team prepare your drink right in front of you. The space is on the smaller side, with limited seating and no public restroom, so it feels more like a grab-and-go spot than somewhere to hang out for a long time. That said, the quality of the matcha makes it worth the visit. It was also funny seeing another guest order four different matcha flavors for a video, which was probably TikTok doing its thing again. Clearly, this place is getting attention for a reason. I'll definitely be back to try more flavors.

The matcha was ok but not worth the crazy hype and pricing. The iced lattes are all one size. While…read morethe matcha itself is quality tasting it isn't strong. Also, the agave and honey (I've tried both) aren't great and taste watery leaving the matcha drink ultimately tasting a little bitter and watered down. Matcha is overpriced to begin with but having to pay $3.50 for an extra scoop of matcha per drink just to get a stronger flavor is pretty insane. The strawberry matcha is already sweetened with sugar and there isn't much room to customize that drink or specialty drinks, hence why I chose a basic matcha latte with almond milk. I tried to like this place especially given the hype surrounding it on social media/the good reviews, but couldn't bring myself to :(

Luckily, I…read morelive in one of the best parts of the state--about 9 miles away from NYC--so I can just hop on a bus and have access to more options! Anyways... I still like to shoot my shot with places around here because ya never know when ya might hit the jackpot. I found BTX Cafe on Yelp. The interior is small and simple, but beautiful! It's bright, with tons of natural light, and has a modern, minimalistic Japanese-inspired design with light wood furniture and neutral colors. There's also wifi and outlets, which is always a win. The menu is a mix of both coffee and bubble tea, with the usual favorites: milk teas, fruit teas, slushes, espresso, and cold brew. Prices are a few dollars lower than most other cafes, which is definitely a huge plus. I'm not into overly sweet drinks. I prefer a very strong tea flavor, so I order mine with the lowest amount of sugar possible and light ice. The staff is friendly, and they make drinks pretty quickly. What I tried... MILK TEAS: Pearl Milk Tea ($5.25) Oolong Milk Tea ($5.25) These were a big thumbs down. They were wayyy too milky, and the tea flavor barely came through. I was disappointed. FRUIT TEAS: Passion Fruit Green Tea ($5.75) Mango Green Tea ($5.75) Lychee Oolong Tea ($5.75) The fruit teas were better--refreshing, with a stronger tea base. The oolong was toasty and nutty, and the jasmine green tea was sweet and floral. As for the fruity flavors... I don't think they use real fruit puree like some other boba brands. The passion fruit and mango tasted similar and I almost couldn't tell the two drinks apart. Both lacked that signature tangy, tropical kick and tasted more like artificial syrup. Thankfully, the tea helped even it out. Out of the three, the lychee oolong was my favorite. It was the most balanced! The tapioca pearls were actually the highlight-perfectly chewy, bouncy, and soft. Your taste buds might enjoy their drinks, but mine didn't love them. A bit of a letdown since the prices are lower than its competitors, but maybe that affects the quality. I liked the lychee oolong tea enough to come back for just that. Perhaps the coffee is better? The hunt continues...

His decor is automotive themed, as that's his other passion. He roasts his own beans at a nearby facility but will be roasting on site soon. I selected the Apex Ethiopian coffee, a medium light roast. It was absolutely delicious. As it cooled off, the nuance increased. Enjoyed discussing coffee with Chris.
