Not opening in 25 minutes. It has been closed for sometime. This is a win for visitors to Magog.

I'm not kidding when I say - and my traveling partners agree- this was the best food and drink we put in our mouths our entire trip! Get a fondue, a couple of apps, and a beer and enjoy a wonderful meal!! We even saved room for a maple dessert - also fantastic! Come and enjoy- you won't be disappointed!!

This popular brewery was definitely worth the revisit for their high quality food and drinks, with a major perk being that it is open everyday and doesn't close between mealtimes. The Tall Man and I came during semi-off hours, first for a late lunch and later for an afternoon snack/drink. They have a large outside deck with a great view of the lake, but we opted to sit in their cozy dining room both times. We visited with baby in tow, first with a stroller and once without. The accessible entrance was not very obvious (we noticed it only after our second visit) and it was covered in snow. There are several steps leading to the porch and main entrance. The host was gracious enough to find a table that could fit a stroller next to it, but that was made easier by our off-hours visit. The staff is very friendly and most are pretty fluent in both English and French. We ordered in French the first time around, but by our second trip our language skills and brains were a bit worn out, so we were thankful our server cheerfully switched to English. They all gave us great recommendations, and everything we had was quite tasty. Think elevated brewpub than bar food. Drinks-wise, the Tall Man equally enjoyed La Pointe Merry (IPA) and La Kilt (Scotch ale). I opted for their non-alcoholic options and was happy with my Quebec-made kombucha and gin and tonic mocktail. Both came in cans or bottles, and I ended up taking the rest of my kombucha to go. Instead of ordering full entrees, we opted for a spread of small plates. The cod bites (bouchées de morue) were excellent, crisply fried with soft, flaky fish inside and a killer dipping sauce. The kiddo is just starting to eat solid foods and quite enjoyed the fish. The onion rings (nounounes rings) were also a hit. We also enjoyed the duck drumlettes (pilons de canard) and the fries (frites). Note the fries are made French style and not crispy (as opposed to what's usually served in American restaurants ironically as "French" fries). We will definitely be back! I did eat gluten on this trip as a periodic treat, but am usually gluten free. They didn't seem to have too many GF options on their menu, but I would come back to try their entrees and see if I could make it work.

No one came to ask what we wanted to drink. Never came and ask how the food was. Never seen so many flies in a restaurant. I expect them on a patio but not inside . Watched one couple leave after he drank only some of his beer and his wife didn't drink her pop..tried of waiting?? I had pressed no tip and the waitress, I won't publish her name had the nerve to hold up the receipt and ask if I'd left a TIP at the table. Waving the the receipt in the air and announcing to everyone I was unsatisfied as per not selecting a TIP was not very polite and my companions commented on it. I felt guilted and left a couple of Toonies. Wish I hadn't. My friend over heard the people ahead of us also had her ask if they had left a tip on the table. .so I gather they picked no TIP either. Wifi code = Budweiser Service was slow for what we ordered and I didn't find it all that great. It was amazing that I'm dying to come back but it wasn't horrible that I wouldn't stop on by again. We started with the fried squid. Disappointing as it was all stuck together or should I say fried all together. Super rubbery and the little salad they said comes with it had no dressing. The burger was supposed to be blue cheese but they must of run out so just slapped a piece of orange cheese on it without even letting us know. The burger was supposed to be blue cheese with bbq sauce which would make for a great burger. Little disappointed but the burger was okay and everyone loved the French fries. Salad was disappointing. It said Brie so I thought it would be on top or served with croutons crackers but nope just shoved on the side which was random as ever. The chicken was not what I was expecting. It should of been grilled or at least cooked with some colour, it just had a weird rubbery feel to it. The dressing was nice it was oil and balsamic. I didn't hate it but again I wouldn't order it again I would try the Cesar salad. Drinks were super cheap but u don't taste much booze. Bloody cesar's are $7.50 and a pitcher of bud light ( that's all they had on tap ) was $15. Prices were okay drinks did taste good just needs more booze. The inside is gorgeous and is also a party place / club. Due to covid there was only seating outside which was still great.

Jeff, introduced himself and presented his monologue. Bottled water was placed on the table and after looking at the menu I decided to order a grilled chicken salad with cranberries, walnuts, arugula, cucumber with a great aioli dressing. I also ordered a Guinness Stout. This place has live music in the evening and also doubles as a liquor store. Please check your bill carefully and pay by credit card if your an American due to the exchange rates which change daily. I did not approach Jeff but we were charged for the water. He should have mentioned that prior. Overall I would rate this three and one stars.
