I had a weird experience. Angel did a good job on the hem of one of my skirts so I went back up at another time to have a dress alteration. I called in advance, and he said they were still open, and that I could come by, but when I showed up, his demeanor was weird and told me he didn't do alterations for women's clothing!!!! I was puzzled but then a lady was sitting down starring at me funny and didn't respond to my greeting. Not sure what's going on, but I I didn't waste my time to remind him that he hemmed my skirt so I just left & took my business somewhere else. read more

Angel is The Man! I took my jeans into another shop and they were just blind hemmed, which is not what I wanted. I took my jeans into Angel's shop and he match up the original thread and stitching style so they look as perfect as they did on the rack. He is not into up selling unneeded alterations, I brought in a suit that was picked out for me for a wedding I was in and the suit was a horrible fit. I'm getting married in a few weeks and initially took my dress to be altered at this lady I'd heard about in SF. She rushed through pinning it in some complicated way, didn't really listen to what I wanted, then quoted me $615. I didn't like the price or her customer service, so thought I'd ask Angel, even though I wasn't sure if he did wedding dresses. He brought in his associate Cecelia who specializes in formal dresses. She took so much time to listen to what I was hoping for, then came up with a simple fix and quoted me $195. I just picked up my dress that fits perfectly and couldn't be more pleased. Let me explain on why I gave this guy a full 5-star. I'm 5'4" short and weighing 165 lbs. with rounded shoulder and a portly body. A size 40XS suit is perfect in the shoulder, chest and length but too tight in the waist. Size 42 which is the next bigger size doesn't come in XS, only in Short which is about 1-1/2" - 2" longer. I found a nice suit in size 42S and took it to LA Tailor. When I got it back, my suit. I'll say, is about 95% like a custom made suit and save me a couple hundreds of $ than ordering a custom made online. Angel is so meticulous. He is not cheap neither expensive. read more

Came here once before and just now had an unpleasant experience with the owner, Angel. He is extremely rude and condescending. Let me just preface this review and say that I came here exactly one year ago for some alterations for my birthday outfit. It was a two piece outfit (bralette and high waisted flare pants). The pants needed to be altered and he did do a good job with the hemming. However, he became creepy with the transaction via text. Once he let me know my order was ready to be picked up, he also let it be known to me that he wanted to see a picture of me in the outfit. Mind you, it's a kinda revealing outfit. And it was very pervy for him, a married older man, to hit on a younger client of his. Nonetheless I ignored the request and thanked him for the services. Now I rarely get my clothes altered. Fast forward to now, the zipper to my jogger pants broke and needed to be fixed. Angel was extremely rude throughout the entire verbal exchange. He kept correcting me on me saying the zipper needed to be "fixed" and kept saying "not fixed, replaced" (same difference?). He kept putting his hand up in my face, and kept calling me girl. I was going back and forth about whether I even wanted the zipper fixed anymore (wait sorry "Replaced") because part of it did still zip up partially. He just pretty much told me I needed to buy a new pair of these pants, even though the issue was fixable. And no, I'm not gonna buy a new pair of pants that was bought more than a year and half ago. Then I just decided I didn't want them fixed by him anymore because he charges $30 for it and admitted that cleaners charge for cheaper(so why charge 2-3x more?). Anyway, while handling my pants, he messed up my zipper some more and had this attitude of who cares, it needs to be replaced anyway. So I got a bit frustrated with him and told him to fix it to how it was when I brought it in. The entire ordeal just went left and his condescending customer service was so appalling. How dare you put your hand in my face and call me difficult. If I ever need any alterations, I definitely won't bring my clothes to this pervert. read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! Angel the owner is an expert on tailoring, he has fixed many of my pants and my husband's too and we love his work, his friendly-can-do attitude. He values his customers and takes pride on his craftsmanship I come from Sausalito to San Leandro and is way worth my trip. I went here to get a suit tailored, very simple job, shortening of jacket sleeves and pants. I received the suit at the time quoted to me as to when it would be done, but once I arrived home to try it on ( couldn't try it on at the shop because I was in a rush). I realized that on the suit jacket one sleeve was shorten more than the other making them look very uneven and unprofessional , and the pants, well before this tailor got a hold of them they fit perfectly no problems, after getting the pants back, the pants would keep bunching up by the knees any time I would walk in them, causing me to repeatedly have to pull them down, which makes wearing the suit anywhere impossible. I'm very disappointed with the job done on my suit, considering I had very minors alterations made to it, would not recommend. read more

Angel have done many alterations for me, mostly hemming pants and jacket sleeves, it's all been great. He does really excellent work. I recently had to be a bridesmaid... again... and asked if he did bridesmaid dresses too and he did. I did have to make an appointment for that though instead of the normal walk in for drop offs. Angel and another woman was there to fit me. The dress turned out looking great (you know how those can be) and the prices was reasonable compared to a tailor in alameda that I had called for pricing.
