Alex rescues me again. My shampoo had spilled all over my gym bag, so I decided to hose it out without taking my phone out of one of the pockets. Yes, I washed all the shampoo out. My phone seemed pretty clean too! All I had to do was dry off the Otterbox that the phone was in....if it were only that easy! Water had seeped inside my phone. The screen stopped working. It looked hopeless. At the urging of my friends and Google, I spent $1.98 at the 99 cents store and bought some rice and placed my phone into a plastic bag full of rice. I didn't think the rice would do anything. I tried for an hour or two, then I finally called Alex. He told me to bring my phone in. I arrived and gave my phone that was in a bag of rice to Alex. All he could do was laugh at me. He opened up my phone and water came pouring out. He dried everything out. He showed me the old screen, which was about 1/16 inch thick. There was no way that water would be able to escape the phone without opening it up. Sure it could dry by itself on a very hot day, but, that still might take several days with or without rice. Within minutes, he had a new screen on the phone. My phone was working perfectly normal once again. So far, he has fixed my iPad and now my iPhone. He does a great job! I don't plan on destroying any more of my electronics. I really don't want to see him again under these circumstances. His prices are much more reasonable than the shops in Irvine. I'll be back!....no I won't...I don't want to be breaking my iPad or iPhone again...and I won't be buying anymore rice. read more

I took an old iMac here for repair. At the start up sound the screen wasn't showing anything other than black. They said that they replaced the graphic card. After I received it back, it took super long to show the start up screen and the fan kept making a very loud noise. And after an hour or so, it will shut off itself. It wasn't like this before. I've been going here since high school, idk how long they've been open here but I've been a customer since Lol. I'm very clumsy and have broken about 10+ phone screens and Alex was there every time ready to replace it. I've been to other repair places before and they always left me with problems or they kept my phone over night! I was getting the 'Temporary Error' message on Gmail on my PC for almost 3 weeks and usually I'm able to troubleshoot and fix the issue on my own, but this time, it was extremely persistent with no resolution in sight. I work from home and having access to Gmail is important. It first started appearing on Chrome, then Safari, and then even on FireFox and Edge which I never even use. After ruling out several factors, I decided to bite the bullet and I search up a repair shop and conveniently found LA Tech Repairs which just so happened to be in my neighborhood. Seeing the glowing reviews, I wasted no time and brought in my computer. I was greeted by Alex and explained to him the issue I was having. So he said he would run a diagonosis and give me a call within a couple of hours to let me know what's going on. So I left and at about 5pm on the same day, he called back and said that my Gmail was working fine at his shop and that it wasn't a software issue, which I was very relieved about. So Alex explained that it may be an internet/WiFi issue at my house. So I picked up my computer the next day and brought it home. And when I tested it, I was still getting the 'Temporary Error.' So as I was about to call my Internet provider, I tried disconnecting and reconnecting my router, and lo and behold, the temporary error dissapeared! Absolutely worth the visit to LA Tech Repairs and paying the diagnosis flat fee. During my own troubleshooting, there was not one forum or website that mentioned anything about the router or internet connection being the reason for the Gmail temporary error. Got a ps4 that sounds like a jet engine? I definitely did! I called in because I can't for the life of me fix my console without somehow breaking something. I was helped by Eric who luckily enough experienced the same problem as me. Turns out my heat sink harvested a colony of dust which would explain the reason my room would get so hot. In addition to that he also provided service of thermal paste replacement. (Good thing because I've had it since 2016!) Customer service is great, my problem was quickly addressed and I was well informed of the situation. You just have to ask the right questions. My console was immediately returned to me same day which is awesome because Last of Us 2 is out and the ps4 is one of my best friends so yay! My first experience with LA Tech did not go smoothly, I repaired an iPhone 7 screen and opted for the cheaper non-Apple part. The main problem was the "3D Touch" feature felt very different, I had to press the screen harder to activate it. However, I was very impressed with their customer service. They explained that it was probably a defected part that was causing my problems. They offered through the warranty to replace the part, but after some contact I actually agreed to pay the additional price for the original Apple part.
