Most recently, when my motherboard had issues, he recommended checking my warranty first instead of jumping into a costly replacement. He even got the replacement motherboard installed the same day it arrived because I needed my computer urgently for studying. On my first order with these guys, their website offered a free economy shipping options to my overseas address. After I placed the order, I was asked to fork out an extra $58 for a display PSU shipped to France. I did manage to cancel the order, but was not refunded the full amount. On my next (and final order), which got shipped to a US address, the refurbished and 'tested' item I received as dead on arrival... I took a phone into Repair Gig because the wireless charging was not working. After much effort, Simon concluded that the wireless charging could not be repaired as the problem was with the motherboard. He did not charge me for his time, which was more than fair. I did ask about recycling two PCs and he wondered why I needed to recycle rather new equipment. Because of his comments, I looked into the problems with these two PCs. As it happens, I could double the RAM for each, from 4 GB to 8 GB, and replace the old HDD with an SSD. I was able to buy the parts and, thanks to YouTube, was able to do the upgrades myself. It is not very often that I decide to leave a review for a business, but this is one of the exceptions. Simon, the owner of Repair Gig is extremely knowledgeable with all computer things. Always with a smile, he offers solutions at reasonable rates. My laptop hard drive was extremely slow. I took it in to Repair Gig to assess possible options to speed it up. The boot up process easily took over 2 minutes, which seemed like an eternity to me. Simon suggested replacing the hard drive with a solid state drive. He said the speed of the computer would increase significantly with no loss in reliability. Boy was he right. He installed the new SSD drive with Windows in about 3 hours. The result is that my computer now boots in less than 20 seconds with significantly improved performance.
