    Creme brûlée
    Andrea S.

The three course meal was amazing mainly because of the foie gras. The texture and taste was delicious and the restaurant prepared it well. We also had the duck breast with orange sauce which was good; eating the duck reminds me of eating steak in terms of texture. I had the creme brûlée for dessert but i recommend the profiterole pastry which has ice cream and chocolate. The service was great as well! I recommend this place!

We had dinner here on a Friday night with a reservation at 19:00 and were promptly seated. My got a glass of wine and my wife got a spritz; both were good. We both went with the 3 course meal each and got: Onion soup - good deep flavor Escargot - really tasty, garlicky & buttery Lamb - good flavor, was overcooked a bit Duck confit - great flavor, crispy skin Crème brûlée - perfect crunch shell, tasty custard Profiteroles - Literally one of the best desserts I've ever had!!! We really enjoyed our meal here and would recommend it if you're looking for a tasty bistro near the Eiffel Tower4

Chez France... our favorite dinner spot in Paris!

Six years ago, my wife and I had a memorable dinner at ChezFrance. So, when we returned to Paris this year, we wanted to revisit. Happily, it didn't disappoint! We both ordered the 3 course option of starter, main, and dessert. Since California bans Fois Gras, we had to order it as our starters. The owner, Regis, suggested a special sweet wine with the Fois Gras and it was a perfect pairing. My wife ordered the Duck Confit as her main and I ordered the French lamb. Both cooked to perfection... loved the sauce that came with my lamb. The dessert selections also didn't disappoint. Regis and his team were so friendly and professional.... we made another great dinner memory last night. Highly recommend !

Let me start this off with a simple statement: WE LOVED THIS PLACE WITH ALL OF OUR HEARTS!!!! We ate or snacked at nearly 25 different places in our 9 days in Paris. This was meal #1 with a bullet! There were no misses here. There were no flubs here. If you don't leave loving Frances and her team, I'm going to suspect you have a heart made of ice. I had the small salad with fried Saint-Marcellin cheese & tomatoes for a starter and special of the day which was rump steak skewers with their take on a BBQ sauce & fries. My wife had the escargot for a starter and duck confit with potatoes. For dessert I had an apple & berry crumble and my wife had lemon sorbet with a shot of limoncello. Frances brought me a shot of limoncello, as well. From the moment we walked in the door, until the moment we walked out they treated us like family. It was simply unheard of in Parisian terms. Everything was so warm and welcoming. The food was beyond delicious. The meat on both of our dishes was melt-in-your-mouth good. It wasn't just us. Frances sang with a woman who was almost 100 years old. She joked with a table full of Russians until they were slapping the table. The couple next to us from Maryland wanted to adopt her. She correctly guessed the folks next to us were Korean and proceeded to have a discussion about her favorite Korean things with them. Everyone who came in the door was family. We heard about her family in Canada and her recent vacation to the coast. She did all this and kept the atmosphere in the restaurant very soothing and even a bit romantic. You absolutely need to visit. Give Frances a hug for me!

I could not ask for a better dining experience. I wanted to go somewhere special for Valentines Day where we could relax and enjoy our evening without any pretension. I was coming from another country and made a reservation via email. Chez France was quick to respond and we set a time. Upon arriving, we were the 2nd table to be seated, but the restaurant filled up quickly behind us. The waiters let us pick a table and they kindly asked if they could hang our jackets for us. We were presented with a special Valentines Day menu and the regular menu as well. We opted for the special menu! The food was amazing! It was the best meal I've ever had in Paris! My husband's steak melted in your mouth. My fish was so flaky with an incredible champagne sauce. The fondant au chocolat dessert was so rich and beautifully prepared. If it's on the menu, you must order it! The service was wonderful. Everyone spoke English and the menu was in English as well (my French is very limited). We are checked on to make sure we were enjoying everything. The ambience is so romantic. The red walls. The dim lighting. The soft music. It was a perfect night.

In all honesty this was pretty good, but similar to other same dishes we've had elsewhere in Paris.

Stay away if you are a tourist. They seem to have recently hired an extremely condescending and disrespectful waiter, and I also just learned that racist patrons visit and support this restaurant. I posted the following review on TA and received a hateful private message from a local within a day, telling me to go back to my own country. The food is not as good as people say it is - really just okay in our opinion, and definitely not worth being secretly despised by the waiter and their racist local patrons over. Imagine sitting there and people around you don't want you there the whole time... *********************** When we got there right when they opened for dinner they tried to sit us near the window by the door, where if the door opened the cold wind will come in. Given how cramped the tables were my elderly parents can't sit inside on the couch and must sit with their backs facing the door. My dad has a bad back and cannot endure the wind, so we asked to move inside. While we were accommodated, being literally the only customers at this time, our waiter started to display some strange attitude like we were being demanding and picky about our seats for no good reason. I wanted to explain, but decided against it, and the rest of the night we had the same waiter who continued to make us feel very awkward and uncomfortable. My elderly mom is also suffering from a health condition, and at the time felt very bloated because of it. She only wanted a hot French onion soup and the opportunity to spend time with us during dinner. When we tried to order just the soup for her the same waiter gave us all sorts of attitude and became really impatient and clearly unhappy. He insisted that she must also get another item or nothing. We ended up getting a crème brûlée for "her" to share at the end. Being new to the restaurant and France in general we asked for recommendations off the menu, and the waiter not only refused but also gave us such a bad attitude for even asking. I then asked him if they served hot wine, at which point he looked at me mockingly and said no. I don't know why I can't even ask an innocent question. I've had this from other restaurants in Paris. We've been out in the cold all day and I was craving a hot wine, and I was made to feel bad for asking. Once the entree is served we ate fairly quickly, for 2 reasons: 1) we had a 9:00PM appointment to enter the Eiffel Tower and the restaurant opened at 7:00PM, meaning that we needed to start walking over around 8:30PM; and 2) my parents are suffering from jet lag. Dinner time in Paris is the middle of the night where they are traveling from. If we eat long dinners where they sit and idle for long periods of time they end up dozing off at the table. They become miserable and we end up looking rude. Therefore, as soon as we are done eating we waved down our waiter and explained that we are done. He took a look at us and said, "no, you are not", and left. We waved him down again, at which point he starts ranting about how we ate too fast and it is not nice to eat fast. "Do you have somewhere to be?", he asked. Well, actually, yes... We explained that we have to go to the Eiffel Tower at 8:30PM and he starts saying that we can't go at 8:30PM because it is entry by the hour. We proceeded to explain that we have a 9:00PM appointment and therefore need to start walking at 8:30PM, at which point he finally relents, took our plates, and had the kitchen start on our dessert. After dessert it was still only around 8:06PM, so I asked for a latte. He jeered and said, "this is France, we don't have lattes" and then stared at me. I felt extremely uncomfortable. I really don't understand where this attitude is coming from. I've had lattes from so many different cafes and restaurants here, and even if they don't serve it all he had to do is say they don't. He then asked me if I wanted an Espresso, but Espressos don't have milk and I like my coffee with milk! So I paused for a few moments, thinking, and my husband asked me if I wanted a cup. This waiter then starts making fun of my husband, "everything comes in a cup. What else will it come in?" Okay... it's just English conversation. We say, "do you want a cup of coffee?". My husband literally meant if I wanted one anyway (without milk) when he said "do you want a cup". After some more negative attitude conversation from the waiter we discovered that they served "cafe au lait", which I ended up getting. The whole meal we felt so unwelcomed, unwanted, uncomfortable, awkward, and stressed. I've NEVER felt like this in any other restaurant in my life. The most I've experienced before is maybe some hurried service and impatience from low-end restaurants but never did I feel judged and mocked. Here I was scared to say anything, ask for anything, or frankly do anything other than eat my food because it's uncertain what other kind of abuse we will receive. ************ The rest did not fit, but you get the idea...

Very Good Dinner. Prix fixe 2 course dinner is 26e. Overall a very nice meal and experience. Cozy place. The pate was excellent. The marinated salmon was well. Duck confit was good. Very friendly staff.

My sister and I stumbled upon this incredible restaurant one night durning our stay in Paris, and I'm so thankful we did. We walked in at around 9pm on a Wednesday night, and the place was relatively empty, the hostess/waitress was absolutely charming! Her English was also decent, and she was eager to accommodate to our lack of french. Both of the dishes my sister and I received were excellent and they were fairly priced. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely return.

This is one of my favorite French restaurants in Paris Dinner is delicious here. This is a small restaurant and it gets packed so make reservations otherwise you're going to have to wait a while to be seated. Very clean restaurant. Big up to Regis he is very hospitable! Great place to eat.

Lovely little bistro, a 15 minute walk away from the Eiffle tower. What makes this bistro special is the warmth and friendliness of the owner and her daughter. They provided the best service we received in Paris. Food, some dishes were better than others. My husband enjoyed the charcuterie board and lamb steak. I liked the duck confit. I was a little disappointed with their ribeye steak, it wasn't juicy or tender. Their desserts are amazing! This was truly our best dining experience in Paris, I would highly recommend it!

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

The egg yolk makes a great sauce to soak up this cheesy and hammy toast. This came with a salad on the side which had a vinegar based dressing coated on it. The only thing is we had miscommunication with the waitress about drinks. We asked for water (l'eau) but they gave us distilled water in a bottle which costed us 8 euros. I learned it's important to learn to specifically ask for carafe d'eau (tap water in French) to get free water! Felt a bit bad that we were overcharged. Just gotta be careful with communicating next time. All in all, I enjoyed trying the amazing sandwich that is a croque madame. Wanted to give 4 stars for the food but the bottled water still irks me.
