We absolutely love this restaurant!! We've been several times and it has always been amazing. It's a fantastic place for a romantic evening out. The consistently delicious food and the intimate ambiance really set the scene for a memorable date night experience. The service is top tier as well.

We stayed in town an extra day, celebrating our anniversary, so that we could enjoy this fine restaurant and we are so glad that we did! Amazing staff, owner, atmosphere, service, and incredible tasting food. From the before dinner drinks, French 75 (with St German foam-wow) & Bourbon Old Fashioned (with muddled orange-amazing flavor added) to the bottle of Vinafore Chardonnay (which was selected by our amazing server) the drinks did not disappoint. For appetizers we started with the Traditional Steak Tartare served with truffle potato chips which paired so well together. The evening continued and did not disappoint with Pan Roasted Wild Gulf Red Snapper & Jumbo Lump Crabmeat Mary Louise (puff pastry so light) and both paired incredibly well with the Chardonnay. (And we are both red wine drinkers-enough said). And finishing the evening with a Berry Soufflé. My husband had never had soufflé before so I was thrilled that his first time with be so delicious, light, and wanting him to try another. Overall an amazing night. Thank you to the staff & chef!! We can't wait to come back again! (Only surprise was no espresso)

This is the urinal in The restaurant - The walls are desperate need of repair

Service was extremely slow and for a Saturday wow no one is here how are they open? Had to wait for my glass of wine which was ordered first before anything, after I received my appetizer. The place is so quiet the loudest thing is the squeaky old ratty chairs. Expected a little more ambiance. Food was actually pretty good. Started with foie gras, which was excellent even though it was duck. Really enjoyed the fish as a whole. Great pairings with the foie still prominent. Great job. The turtle soup was just ok. Would not do again. The scallops were cooked just right and the dish was not really Asian as he had mentioned. The broth was nice and a little citrusy. It grew on me as I progressed but not bad. Side was spanakopita, which was delicious as well and pastry was delicate. Very nice layers and flavor. Ended with the soufflé berry. Also delicious just wish it was a little firmer. Don't go with the dom Paul Sauvignon as it needed to warm up to have more presence. The other rombauer was much more fruity and crisp. All in all not bad. Just needs better service and ambiance. Second visit Foie gras, lobster bisque, Mary Louise, grand marnier soufflé, French 75. This place is a solid 4. Really good food and quiet. What I love about gras is that it's a substantial piece which most places give you a taste they don't skimp here. Fantastic. Lobster bisque could use something in it to bring some dynamic. It was just ok, would not order again. The Louise was great minus the asparagus which was too over powering for the rest of the dish. It was cooked right just not a good mix. Soufflé was awesome. Much better service this time but still practically no one around. Very misleading Considering the amount of people usually tells you how good a place is. Just not here. Enjoyed yet again. Will be back.

Great food with great service. I had the grilled snapper with lump crab meat and the scallops. The drinks were on point also.

The absolute best for a culinary experience in the area! Always consistent with great service from all the staff members, to the chef's/owners coming to check on you with genuine concern. This establishment never disappoints.

A dining experience at La Truffe Sauvage is always a culinary delight, but with the current situation with COVID-19, I wasn't convinced that the experience could be translated well to take-out food. I'm happy to report that my doubts were unfounded. This evening we saw a special announced on the Facebook page for the Paella València for Two. This was an amazingly large portion of Saffron risotto, fire roasted peppers, sweet peas, and fresh seafood including shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels, fish, squid, and some chicken. The last paella we ate was is Spain, and this was on par with the ones we enjoyed there. The dish served two of us with plenty to spare, saving room for dessert: one the best Napoleons I've ever eaten. If you have any doubts about getting a quality meal by takeout from La Truffe Sauvage, worry no more. This meal was truly exceptional.

Filet of prime beef tenderloin, with gorgonzola scalloped potato. The potato was actually really amazing!

Very impressed and is excellent fine dining experience. Only flaws were not having the appetizer special available, extremely loud parties in the large room, and loose & stapled-together menus, rather than placed in proper menu books. Foie gras portion was above average and dessert soufflés are fun.

Grand Marnier Soufflé... is to die for!!

Anytime we are in the Lake Charles area we have to go to La Truffe Sauvage! We have been 3 or 4 times and we have never been disappointed. The service, the food are exceptional and delicious! One must always make sure there is room left for the soufflé..... it is mouth watering !!

It's the kind of place you go for a nice dinner, date night, or when you just want to slow down and enjoy a full meal. The Eats We started with drinks - my husband had The Italiano, which was smooth and well-balanced, and I went with a Hedges Family Wine, which paired nicely with dinner. For the meal: My husband had a house salad and the pan-seared fish, which was cooked well and complemented by the kind of rich, flavorful sauces they're known for. I went with the wedge salad and the surf & turf, and listen...this is where they shine. The surf & turf is a standout - steak paired with seafood and a bold, flavorful sauce that leans into that fusion they're known for. Everything came out well-prepared, plated nicely, and felt like a complete dining experience rather than just a quick meal. The Service Service was attentive and polished without being overbearing. Drinks stayed filled, courses came out at a comfortable pace, and the staff made sure everything flowed smoothly. It matched the overall feel of the restaurant - thoughtful and consistent. Parting Thoughts Between the cocktails, the wine, and standout dishes like the surf & turf, it delivers a well-rounded experience. Definitely a solid choice for a nice night out in Lake Charles - and one I'd return to when I'm in the mood for something a little more elevated.

Upon arrival, we realized my husband mistakenly booked the reservation for the wrong date. The host was incredibly gracious and managed to seat us promptly despite the busy atmosphere. Our waiter greeted us warmly, and our appetizers (the hummus and lamb lollipops were fantastic) arrived quickly which set a promising tone for the meal. However, after ordering our entrees the service rapidly declined. Our server became a rare sight. We both ordered the ribeye steaks, and while we know these aren't quick ticket items the wait time was a little longer than we expected. The meal took about an hour to arrive and our food was delivered to the table by another staff member. Judging by how badly she burned her hands on the plates compared to how dried out our potatoes were and how lukewarm our steaks were, we believe they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a good minute. Our waiter didn't check in during the meal, and our water glasses weren't refilled until we were nearly finished. Additionally, the table was quite unsteady which made cutting the steaks a bit challenging. The food and service quality didn't align with the prices and desired ambience of the restaurant, which was very disappointing. We arrived at 6:45 PM and received our check around 8:55 PM, making the evening longer than we anticipated for a typical date night. While the initial hospitality was appreciated, the overall experience fell short of our expectations. We may consider giving Mazen's another chance in the future, but for now we'll explore other dining options.

I came in from Mississippi. It was my first time in Lafayette, and I can say without a doubt it will not be my last! I happened upon this bistro right here on Yelp and it was a hit with both of us. So much so that we went back the next morning and were greeted just as warmly as the day before! We were greeted and seated immediately. You peruse their well-rounded menu at your leisure and then order at the counter. I know they use savory and sweet in the description, but to me your choices are even broader. Like a little kick with your savory? Order the Cajun immediately. Fantastic boudin! Want a milder start, order the Crepe Madame with your choice of ham or turkey. Savory with a bit of sweet, order the Monte Cristo. The triple berry jam is outstanding! On the sweet side we tried the S'mores with Biscoff and the Creme Brûlée. They satisfied my best friend's favorite food group...sugar. We met and talked with the owner, Cody, while we were there. Super, super nice guy! We had a thousand questions and he answered them all while we ate our tasty crepe creations. We sat and watched his wife prepare the dishes while trying to convince them to open restaurants in our hometowns! We had the best casual and friendly dining experience the either of us has had in a long time and can't wait to go back! Thank you, Cody and family!!
