My mother had an accident and she had to undergo surgery. Dr. Zalzaleh is an exceptional individual. He was the person who helped my mom with the arm surgery, and everything went A-OK! He explained what happened, the X-Rays, the proceedings in clear and concrete detail. Very awesome and wonderful man. Not to mention, the other nurses and doctors were extremely welcoming as well, they accommodated my mom despite her being shy, it's a very friendly and open environment. I was very happy to entrust my mother to these wonderful people's care. I couldn't have asked for anybody else better.

This hospital was a bit tricky to find because it was on 681 building and GPS was sending me to the other side of the street but once I found it, I was smooth sailing from there. All employees nurses aestheticians and doctors are friendly and professional. They have personality not like some robots in other hospitals/clinics. They immediately took care of me and made me feel safe about my tonsillectomy procedure (Tonsils removed). Highly recommend this hospital. They take great care of their patients.

My husband had knee surgery at La Veta Surgical Center and the staff was simply amazing. They all went out of their way to make sure he was comfortable. I received a text when the surgery started as well when he was in the recovery room - this is something all hospitals and clinics should do since we all worry about our loved ones when they go through any kind of procedure. All in all, a great experience.

Pre-op for my Carpal tunnel release!

I had a really good experience here at La Veta Surgical Center. I was scheduled by my Orthopedic surgeon to have a release of my carpal tunnel. When arriving at the facility, I was greeted pleasantly and noticed the facility was very well kept, clean and appealing. The front staff was kind, communicative and helpful. I was taken back quickly for my intake and pre-op preparation. The nursing staff was wonderful, they really accommodated my needs and made me very comfortable. My pre-op was longer than my surgery, so it was nice to be comfortable and well taken care of. I highly recommend this place for any outpatient surgeries. It really was a great place to be. They stayed in communication with my family and I genuinely felt cared for and safe while in the facility.

From the moment Dr. June Sadiq walked into the room, I could tell he was genuine, compassionate, and truly cared about his patients. He took the time to listen, answered every question thoroughly, and made my grandma feel comfortable during a stressful time. What stood out most was that he never made us feel rushed. He was attentive, thoughtful, and kept checking on her throughout her visit, which meant so much to our family. When I asked if he could speak with my daughter over the phone to explain my grandma's test results, he didn't hesitate. He patiently went over everything, answered all of her questions, and made sure she understood the situation completely. That level of kindness, patience, and professionalism is rare. Dr. Sadiq is truly a gem. UCI Medical Center is incredibly fortunate to have him as part of its team. Thank you for treating my grandma with such compassion and dignity. We will never forget the difference you made.

If I could give this hospital a negative review, I would. Unfortunately, I had a horrible…read moreexperience, and it was not because of the nurses. The nurses were friendly, caring, and did their best. My biggest issue was with the case managers. My father was admitted to the hospital due to shortness of breath, pneumonia, and cancer. He was placed in the older, run-down side of the hospital. During the summer, the room was extremely hot because the AC was not working, and they provided a fan to try to help. The room itself was also very small and uncomfortable. Again, I want to emphasize that we had no issues with the nurses. They were kind and helpful. The problem was the case management. It felt like the main priority was simply getting my father discharged as quickly as possible rather than making sure he had what he needed to safely go home. He was discharged without several necessary medical supplies and we were told they would be delivered afterward. Unfortunately, the vendor could not provide one of the supplies because the prescription they received from the case manager did not include the required model number. The vendor needed an updated prescription before they could send it. I called the case managers repeatedly, leaving multiple messages and calling every day for over a week. No one returned my calls. We eventually had to contact my father's doctors ourselves to try to resolve the issue. This should not have been necessary, especially for a patient dealing with cancer and recovering from pneumonia and breathing problems. It is extremely frustrating and disappointing to feel like the healthcare system no longer puts patients first. Discharge planning should be about making sure patients and their families have the proper support, medications, and medical equipment--not simply getting them out the door. UCI, please do better. Please consider replacing or retraining case managers who are unwilling to communicate with patients and families and who do not follow through on critical discharge needs. Because of this experience, I would not recommend this hospital, primarily because of the case management and lack of follow-up.

It is the one of the most clean and accessible facilities you could access. Not only does this pavilion have a radiology department, there is also a pharmacy (which dispenses most medication to the hospital directly but you can also go here to pick it up), as well as blood testing here with a phlebotomy department. The technicians are mostly competent here and friendly. With an appointment, you are in and out of here on time. Which leads me to the only criticism of this pavilion. You are charged for parking. There used to be validation for parking (or so I heard) if you visited the facility. Unfortunately, there are no other parking available as St. Joseph Hospital is situated alongside CHOC so most of the surrounding locale is full. Even when I was an EMT dropping off emergent patients for both CHOC and St. Joseph, there were barely any parking for the ambulances! All-in-all, I would still come despite the mandatory parking fee even with a handicapped placard because the facility is worth it (compared to other places like Los Alamitos).

The paper literally says…read more"this is not your final time, you will get a call with your final time" I got my phone call and it was exact maybe to exact. I got there way early and sweet Vanessa at the desk was like Ray can you come back we're a little behind. I looked around and saw 30 patients crammed into this little office. I said ok I'll come back at 10:30 on the dot my appointment time. When I got back at 10:30 Vanessa had my paperwork and the waiting room was practically empty. These doctors knock out but checks like they are slinging burgers one patient in and out in 20 minutes including anesthesia, surgery and wake up time. By the time I got back guess what time it was 11:30 the time that was on my original paperwork. Guess what guys I think they have a system and they know what they are doing. They have a huge team moving beds in and out getting you changed, hooking you're iv and rolling you into the poop check room. By the time you wake up it's all done. I was the last patient so I thought every body would be rushing out of there-nope they treated me like the first one and on my way out the door the doctor even came to tell me everything was well. Oh and they called to check on me the next day. This is first rate service very rare. I highly recommend you get all your but checks here if you need it.

As Michael in Irvine back on Nov 6, 2024 posted his review on yelp, when they called me for the pre-op, at the end of the call the person advised me, "we'll see you at 11am" on Fri Mar 6 when my initial appt was for 12:45pm and I had already had my wife make arrangements to take work off that afternoon as driver is required. I advised the person of that and got no sorry and let her know that if there was a problem I would get back and so ok, I would plan to now arrive at 11am as instructed. So, my wife now had to go back to her boss and request to get off earlier, which he is nice so of course allowed her to. I called early that Friday morning as up early to complete my work for my job before showering and departing to make the 11am on time and they confirmed yes, you are still on for 11am. Upon my arrival at around 10:45am, when I walked into the waiting room, it was jam packed and I even stated out loud, "Wow, this is a lot of people ahead of me for my 11am appt." I sat in the waiting room watching the time pass, 11:30am, noon, and at 12:30pm I asked the receptionist Vanessa who the only nice person there what the heck is going on here? I called my wife who asked, are you ready for pick up as she was expecting the nurse!" When I advised her I was still in the waiting room she got upset with me as waiting in the parking lot next door as expected a 30 min procedure when she could have gone home and done some other things, wasting her time. At around 1pm I asked Vanessa who was in charge of the scheduling and she advised Janelle the nurse. I asked Vanessa to please have Janelle come and speak to me in the waiting area immediately. Janelle opened the door and asked me what do I need as if she had no clue about why I was summoning her! I asked her, "How much longer are you going to keep me waiting, my appt was pulled in to 11am from 12:45am without my approval and now its past that time". No apology, Janelle looked at me with a snide look on her face and advised me, oh we called you to push the 11am back out. I advised her no you did not as I was up early and on my phone and would not have missed that and so I pulled out my phone and yes, they had called me, at 10:06 am, less than one hour before my appt and I had missed due to being in the shower to be on time at 11am. I told her, "no, you don't pull someone in without approval/prior notification and then call less than an hour before and try to push them back out, this is RIDICULOUS!" Still no apology or advising she agreed, and back to the waiting room for another half hour or more. At this point I was upset as now wondering how late they could be before the 3 liters of liquid crap I drank the night before and another liter in the morning to the strict timelines on the pre op instructions would no longer be effective and they would need to reschedule me. They finally took me back to get my gown on and put the iv in me in preparation for the procedure around 1:30pm and I fell asleep waiting...When I awoke at around 3pm and no one around, I was getting angrier by the moment as I had planned after the surgery to go to jersey Mike's for lunch and then watch the Sharks hockey game that evening at 5pm. I yelled out for someone to come and Janelle came and I advised her to please call my wife and let her know I still not taken into the procedure yet. She did begrudgingly and I could hear my wife through the phone say "you have to be kidding me!" I was finally wheeled into the pole position at around 4pm and not taken into the operating room until about 4:30pm and I told the doctor and nurse who asked me "how are you doing?" to spare me the pleasantries, that I was pissed at them ruining my entire day over what should have been a 30 min procedure and when I asked who was the anesthesiologist a man advised me I'm not an anesthesiologist but will be taking the doctor's orders on administering which another red flag. To add insult to injury the doctor advised me he not making enough $ to which I should have said "shut up dude, you probably make 3 times more than everyone on your incompetent staff" but did not as just wanted to get the procedure done and go home. After the procedure they dressed me and I don't even remember coming to until I was in my wife's car as no doubt they were so embarrassed about what they put me through that day they didn't want me to come to and give them some choice parting words. When the post op nurse called me the next week to ask how I was doing, I asked her, "were you there Friday?" Still no apology or confirming they will change.
