On Friday night, January 30, 2026, during an incredibly stressful situation involving my father's skilled nursing facility, the ER team at UCLA Medical Center in Orange stepped up in a way I will never forget. It was a busy Friday night, yet the staff treated my father with urgency, dignity, and genuine compassion. What could have been a chaotic and impersonal experience instead felt human and attentive. After we arrived, the ER team worked tirelessly -- not just medically, but administratively -- coordinating with insurance, social workers, and case management. When my father became stuck in the ER due to complications with his prior facility refusing readmission, the UCLA team did not give up on him. They continued advocating, communicating, and ultimately helped secure placement in a better facility after nearly a week in limbo. That level of follow-through meant everything to our family. I especially want to recognize Nurse Claire in the ER. Her kindness and humanity were extraordinary. She gave my father blankets, made sure he was comfortable, and even offered me blankets, food, and water during a long and emotional night. She cleaned my father up with such care and dignity. After 10 hours of uncertainty, she brought calm, reassurance, and genuine bedside compassion that I will never forget. I also want to thank Dr. Carson Dangberg for advocating for my father during a very unfortunate situation. His professionalism and willingness to step in made a real difference. In one of the hardest moments for our family, this ER team reminded us that healthcare can still be compassionate and patient-centered. We are deeply grateful. read more

This is today's ER visit. So disappointing since I was a proponent of UCI and felt they were very very good. Went to the ER at around 6:00 AM. Had woke at 1AM with chest pressure(not pain), horrible nausea that was not relieved by my zofran at home. And just felt awful in general. Met with doctor and explained I had a history of tachycardia but it didn't feel like that was more like a heaviness and said nausea is very bad. Said I had a history of GERD. Also said I have been fighting a case of SIBO also. Said in addition I have lung disease. Tests were then performed (blood work) and chest xray to rule out any heart issues. Perfectly needed. Was sent to wait for results. Waited several hours. No one came to start an IV for hydration or any pain meds or GERD meds. One would think if you mentioned you woke at 1am and it's hours after and you've been nauseated, you MIGHT be dehydrated. I kept watching people being put on IV's and nothing yet for me. My test results came back (saw them on my chart) indicating no heart involvement. So still no move to address my nausea. I had been trying not to vomit for 6 hours. Then a nurse came out and said I was being discharged. I then said I have received nothing for my nausea! She said do you want to talk to the doctor? well duh yeah don't they come and say what the diagnosis is upon discharge? So she sent a message to him. An hour passed and I threw up bile in the bathroom and felt a little better. I told nurse I may just leave as I guess I'm not going to get any meds. she called the doctor and he came and said I didn't have a heart attack. I repeated I didn't get anything for my nausea. He says he will send a prescription to pharmacy for Zofran. I told him at check in I had them at home and they didn't work this time. At that point they wanted me to wait yet again going on my 7th hour there but I left. I could not believe this. So weird. I should have gone to my primary doctor but at 5 am his office isn't open. anyway I'm never going there again. read more

High-Risk Pregnancy Care Felt Unsafe, Rushed, and Poorly Managed: I am writing this review because my family's experience with UCI Labor & Delivery was extremely disappointing and scary, especially because my sister was considered a high-risk pregnancy due to her age, diabetes, and other medical concerns. My sister was originally supposed to be induced at 5:00 AM on Sunday, 4/26, but there were no beds available. Later that day, around 6:00 PM, the hospital called and told her to come in around 9:00 PM. When she arrived Sunday night around 9:00 PM, she was brought in, but instead of starting the induction process and properly monitoring her as a high-risk patient, she was discharged around 1:00 AM because they needed the beds. This was extremely upsetting and concerning. A high-risk pregnant patient should not be sent home in the middle of the night because of bed availability. By around 8:00 AM the next morning, she started bleeding and had to rush back to the hospital. A nurse apologized and said they were sorry, which only made the situation feel even more concerning because it seemed like they knew the situation should not have been handled that way. Once she was back at the hospital, the experience continued to feel chaotic and poorly managed. The hospital appeared to be short-staffed, and communication was not reassuring. Her epidural was delayed because the doctor kept getting pulled away. She was in significant pain, and for a high-risk patient, the delay in pain management felt unacceptable. By Monday, 4/27 at 12:49 PM, she was around 4-5 cm dilated and waiting for medication to help her dilate more. Around 3:51 PM, contractions were getting stronger, and she was waiting for the epidural. Then around 6:25 PM, we were told she needed an emergency C-section. This was terrifying for our family, especially after everything that had already happened: the delayed induction, being sent home due to lack of beds, having to rush back because of bleeding, short staffing, delayed epidural, and poor communication. Thankfully, the baby was born Monday evening and is okay, and we are extremely grateful for that. However, the process leading up to the delivery was stressful, scary, and poorly handled. I understand hospitals get busy, but bed shortages should never come before the safety of a high-risk pregnant patient. My sister should not have been discharged at 1:00 AM, only to have to rush back by 8:00 AM bleeding. This experience left our family feeling like patient safety, communication, and high-risk pregnancy care were not prioritized the way they should have been. read more

My wife was admitted to the ER on 4/25 at approximately 7PM with documented frequent PVCs, palpitations, and dizziness. By 3:38PM the following day -- nearly 21 hours later -- she still had not received her cardiology consult. When I called to follow up, I spoke with a nurse named Keyla who was covering for the charge nurse. Her response: "It's not the ER's fault. Cardiology is a separate department and we don't have control over them." When I asked to speak with the charge nurse directly, she told me to call back in 45 minutes because the charge nurse was on break. Keyla was filling the charge nurse role at the time of my call -- making her the designated escalation point. Instead of escalating, she deflected all responsibility and dismissed a family member whose wife had been waiting nearly a full day for a cardiac consult. This is not acceptable at any hospital, let alone one that markets itself as a top-10 academic medical center. A nurse covering charge duties does not get to abdicate responsibility by pointing fingers at another department. Formal complaints are being filed with UCI Health Patient Relations, the California Board of Registered Nursing, the California Department of Public Health, and Livanta. A specific complaint is being filed against Keyla. This is not about inconvenience. This is about patient safety and basic standards of care. read more

What an amazing facility. I took my wife to UCI for an outpatient procedure and what a class act. From check-in to check-out the staff were amazingly kind, compassionate and efficient. The parking is a bit crazy but the Facilities are clean and well maintained. My wife was well cared for and the nursing team were phenomenal as was her physician. I also checked out the cafeteria and had a breakfast sandwich and coffee while I waited for my wife to return to the recovery room. A nice experience and my wife is doing well. *Discrimination Alert!!!! This review is reflective of my deep anger & sadness at the way a loved one of mine has been & is being treated here at this hospital. My loved one has been here since Wednesday suffering with blood clots in their body. In the time my loved one has been here many people have been moved out of the ER & into rooms. The fam has asked when our loved one would get a room only to be told that the rooms are full. Meanwhile it's obvious that this is a far stretch from the truth because other non Hispanics have been moved to rooms. Finally they put our loved one into a very small room with a broken tv. I wholeheartedly want to believe that the treatment is not due to discrimination but upon seeing & hearing the care other people are receiving in contrast to our Hispanic loved one I can't help but feel that discrimination is playing a factor in their treatment. When I visited my loved one yesterday I asked the nurse to check the catheter because my fam. said it felt like it was leaking & took awhile for the nurse to return. I understand that there's a lot of other patients so I get that part. The cardiologist here does not want to do surgery until our loved one has a primary care doctor which is questionable! If they have blood clots near the heart why do they need a primary care doctor?!!! As someone that worked in the medical field for over 10+ years as an M.A. & CPT the care here comes across as lacking!!! Too long wait for the resident doctor , even if you want to leave already as all your test are done and you have the results and you can view it as well in the my chart, all they will inform , doctor will have a chat with you and its been 2 hours since that, you are still not discharged from ER, though its not so busy at the moment . And its usual words are "it will take a while" , as a patient you will definitely be more sick staying in an enclosed, cramp ER place. This is my second time here, but will never again will walk into this. So far the worst ER experience i ever have. It's sad that the cafeteria has plenty of healthy options but the patient menu is diner food. Biscuits and Gravy for breakfast? French Toast brioche? You can get yogurt but no plain yogurt, only sweetened. No fresh fruit available to patients but it's in the cafeteria. You can get soda water in the cafeteria but patients get juice or ginger ale or cola or diet cola. The menu is filled with propaganda about healthy food. For whom? I started off at UCI Irvine Hospital. Their menu looked fresh and healthy. I was told it was demographics in Orange. Come on UCI, you can do better. Your patients deserve better. read more

You can never get thru to a live person. there call center is frustrating, and wastes a lot of your time. If you have an emergency, good luck as it takes days to get a hold of anyone. You call, leave a message, they call you back, take another message, then you may actually talk to someone! I have nothing but high regard for the UCI OC Medical Center staff and facilities here, which were outstanding, especially in regards to neuro-related care. I had experience in several different units here from the ICU to the stepdown unit to the acute rehab and interacted with a number of different nurses, doctors, therapists, and staff. Of course, as in any facility, some experiences were inconsistent, but overall, the level of care and attention given to me was terrific and positive. There were moments such as in the ICU where the nurses were able to give me so much hope and simple, joyous moments like a plastic hair shower or a flavored toothbrush when I was unable to eat. They helped me recover that much faster and gave me something to help push forward. The doctors as well were informative and able to be honest with their analysis. Yes, this is a teaching facility, so there is a heavy mix of rotating residents along with more senior doctors. But I found most of the residents that attended me were knowledgeable and a joy to work with. I also appreciated the holistic perspective of the hospital as well. This meant that different activities and services were offered from a volunteer violinist playing at the acute rehab or an adorable therapy dog that we were allowed to be with for a bit. Some other patients near me also were able to get acupuncture when appropriate as well. Thank you so much to the UCI Hospital crew for helping me get better and to a better place. UCI Medical Center is an amazing hospital with a phenomenal staff that includes the doctors, nurses, and respiratory therapists. My brother was brought here after suffering from a Ischemic stroke. The ICU and Neuro Team have worked around the clock to provide him with the best medical treatment. They basically save his life and he's on the road to recovery! I am giving up on UCI dermatology. Scheduled appointments are frequently cancelled. That's OK and understandable as schedules change. But if you don't answer the phone when they call to cancel/reschedule you are screwed. When calling back the provided phone number nobody answers and you are put on hold. Thirty to 45 minutes later they hang up on you. Extremely aggravating. Why can't more people be hired??? It is impossible to reschedule! I've tried 10 days in a row with the same results. It's too bad because the doctors and nurses are nice, experienced, professional, and wonderful. Too bad you can't make an appointment to see them and get treated. I see that negative reviews here receive a generic sorry about your experience response along with an invite to contact the patient relations department. Huge parking structure within walking distance to the pavilions, to see the specialists. Buildings are very new and well maintained. Staff is not so bad considering how busy they get, can seem just a bit impatient if you have questions about some of their forms. Doctors are the best of the best! read more

I attended a stem cell lecture here. it was very informative and brought up amazing ideas with ways to use and improve them. It was really fast pace and well thought out. the speackers all knew what they were talking about and were able to answer questions in a technical way and connect all their ideas into one big picture. While everything was amazing I do want to add that with some much information is such a small amount of time it was hard to comprehend a lot of it. but overall this was an amazing lecture that thought me alot about new and incoming innovations in the medical field and makes me curious what the future of medican will look like in the upcoming years. read more

My son had surgery and recovery at UCI medical center in orange. Good hospital, great treatment, friendly staff, helpful nurses, and top notch doctors. This is a teaching hospital so the doctors are often accompanied by students and interns. They stay up to date on the latest treatments and technologies. If your doctor recommends this teaching hospital, run the other way! My dear friend with stage 4 prostrate cancer was sent for spine surgery. A normal hospital would have never recommended the horrific metal in his neck Picture: C2-C5, and T-11-L3. They never told him he would NOT BE ABLE to swallow EVER! after the surgery! they wanted to learn on him. 3 weeks he finally needed additional surgery for a feeding tube in his gut for the rest of his short life, and they refused to send him to rehab for they felt NOW he is just going to die, its too late to resume cancer therapy, can't take any drug that might make him through up! This hospital is horrific, dishonest!!!! He had cancer in his spine which had to be removed and all sorts of metal placed to hold the bones together. I was here a couple years ago for a rare neurological condition. I arrived 15 minutes early and the designated parking lot was completely full with no additional cars allowed inside. I had to park at a government office parking lot far away and paid full price all while being late to my appointment. The other option was to pay valet. Trying to seek medical treatment and instead nickel and dimed for parking. Absolutely shameful. If you have the option to go to the UCI Medical Center in Irvine, go there. Everything there is new and state of the art. And parking was always free. Not sure if that's still the case, but at least you will be able to find parking. read more

They took such good care of her from the beginning to the end of her stay. Each nurse & doctor that was in charge of my grandmas procedures & health issues explained procedures & health problems throughly & were very patient & caring towards my grandma & myself. They kept me up to date at all times. It is a very big hospital with different facilities. All people working here are so very nice & respectful. UCI Medical Center - Emergency Room All the staff were amazing, but special thanks to Katherine, RN, and Dr. Andy Hsueh and their team. We were there on January 31 from 7:00 PM to 2:00 AM. The ER was very busy, but the staff worked nonstop with kindness and smiles. Everyone was respectful and easy to talk to. We came to UCI ER based on an AI recommendation for the best Emergency Room in Orange County, and this was truly correct. The care and professionalism exceeded our expectations. We live in Texas and were in California for a short business trip. Receiving this level of care while away from home was an amazing and reassuring experience. This experience made me truly believe that California is one of the best states in the USA when it comes to humanity and patient care. Katherine, RN, was outstanding--caring, patient, and compassionate. Dr. Andy Hsueh listened carefully and made us feel safe and confident. On August 2025, I met with Dr. Jasmin Lebastchi - Endocrinologist. We went over my past endocrinologist and all my prior blood work. Afterwards, Dr. Lebastchi stated that she wouldn't have even started me on TRT. While I was in the low range for testosterone, I was within normal levels. She would only have started someone on TRT if they had 'less than 200' total testosterone. None of this was included in her assessment notes. Only after this, did she started asking me if I had any symptoms. Mentioned general fatigue, low libido, etc...Stated that when I was put on 40mg every 2 weeks from my prior endo, the 1st week my fatigue was lessened, and had a general good wellbeing. After the 1st week though, it would falter, until I got my next TRT injection. I asked Dr. Lebastchi, at the very least, if she could put me on the dosage that my prior endo wanted to put me on (40mg/week). She mentioned she wouldn't, again mentioning the criteria that I was not below 200 total testosterone. She failed to mention this in her assessment report as well. I asked if we were done with the consultation, and she asked if I wanted to see a different doctor, preferable a male one. I was thankful and said that I would take her offer. I saw a fellowship student on Dec 2025. Long story short, he said I was within normal range and wouldn't prescribe me TRT. Of course this wasn't in his assessment notes either. Of course I'm not a doctor, but based on my research, having a hard requirement of less than 200 total testosterone to be put on TRT, is either grossly misguided, or a careless attitude. Also, not putting in the information in her assessment notes that she plainly refused to put me on TRT unless I was less than 200 total testosterone, shows her dishonesty. Why wouldn't she put this vital piece of information in her notes? Her notes are half truths at best; it makes it seem that I was just being very difficult and was unwilling to tell her my symptoms, etc... read more

Was contemplating writing this but I want to share this. I had an appointment to see my neurologist Dr. Chumakova for a follow up appointment on my MRI for my brain and spine scan to go over results and treatment plan. She's a really wonderful caring doctor, professional, and kind thank you so much. I know I've had a lot of questions and through email so I appreciate you guys helping me as best as you can and answering my questions. Honestly It's really really difficult and hard not knowing what caused my severe neurological pain in my body. I know other people have felt the same way not knowing what is causing their issues too or not getting answers for a really long time or years like me. So I guess I was really anxious for my appointment, and I always forget everything I want to say. Dr. Chumakova did listen and tried to explain to me but still can't give me a full diagnosis. But she did give me some options and explained certain things to me. But they do know I have Spasticity; Demyelinating disease; and Transverse myelitis, which all isn't good and is what's causing my severe neurological pain. This maybe too much information I'm sharing but I feel like I need to share this so if anyone else feels like something is wrong to get checked and trust your instincts because I had to go through hell and back with my insurance changing so many times in the middle of me getting tested and getting referred to terrible doctors who didn't care to listen or help me all the while getting worse and worse. It was so beyond scary feeling yourself getting worse and not being able to get the help I needed until now, and now I have to manage these symptoms for the rest of my life. This is extremely sensitive information I'm sharing but I share this with everyone so if anyone else is going through this know you are not alone it's scary, It's such a defeating feeling not knowing and getting tested so much and still not finding real answers. I will always stay positive and strong no matter what for my daughter. Everyday is a struggle and so damn painful I can't even leave my bed or drive and trying to sleep is pain and impossible somedays to even walk. My entire right side of my body is weak and painful where I can barely lift my arm or do my makeup or lifting my leg is hard and both legs cramp up so badly, I cry sometimes from how bad the pain gets and I don't cry it takes a lot to make me cry. It's horrible the symptoms I feel on top of my autoimmune diseases that flare up constantly and whichever one caused these neurological issues in me. They have to continuously check me to see if anything has changed in my brain and spine and if and when I will get worse. I truly appreciate so much that my neurologist and drs here are trying to help me and tried to explain everything to me as best as they can and help me as much as possible. It's just still so frustrating not knowing why especially struggling so much everyday. I do trust my team of Drs here in helping me on this journey. I won't give up trying to get a diagnosis, I know it could take another episode for that to happen but until then it's a waiting game. It's been a very scary road but I'm putting my trust in you guys to help me so please continue to help me! Thank you so much for all your care and help in my situation. It means so much you have no idea Dr. Chumakova and my team of doctors. I know a lot of my Yelp friends have come to this hospital too. I hope me sharing what I shared is not a problem for anyone. But I really I hope what I shared can help someone out there reading this. I like this hospital a lot, it's clean and the nurses are always friendly and have a smile. I park in Valet but they also have a parking structure as well. The Drs are all kind the ones that I have met so far. This review is specifically for Christian and Peter at the UCI Medical Center's Mobile MRI. My mom and I came in yesterday for her MRI appointment, and both Christian and Peter were so kind, cautious, patient, and helpful. My mom needs some extra support sometimes with stepping up onto higher surfaces, and lying down - they both made sure to talk her through the procedure and helped her feel comfortable before during and after the MRI. They even walked her back into the office afterward to discuss further with both of us. People like Christian and Peter in healthcare make patients feel safe and cared for! read more

UCI medical center in Orange serves as a pillar for the community. The specialists here for me have never disappointed. Whether its neurology, neuro-ophthalmology, ENT, and even the outpatient laboratory. I have encountered many Attendings, Residents, and other healthcare professionals. The parking here while a bit tricky depending on the time of fay because of the volume of people here, its best to give ample time and not rush. If one has an ADA parking placard, the parking is waived and free. This is appreciated. Next to Pavillion 1 is a separate lot for EV vehicles. My only gripe beyond the parking situation, is the phone situation when trying to reach the actual facilities. That in itself is a chain of calling a call center, having someone call you back, giving your information and then reaching the specific division. A few hurdles. If one has the app, you can reach your provider and oftentimes is easier and quicker to navigate the UC medical system. read more

UCI Health took over my doctors office and since then customer service has gone downhill. They rolled out MyChart software that wasn't ready at all. Nothing was carried over such as medicine or anything else. Yesterday I couldn't even login to the site which I have done a few times before. This morning I tried to call and I was on hold forever. Came here to establish care with my new PCP Dr. Jessica Kim and UC's services definitely did not disappoint. I spent 1.5 hour with the NP Erica Liem and she took the time and great diligence creating my health profile in the system. She was very kind, friendly and attentive! I will not go into detail but even the smallest things she noticed and made extra effort in service - I am completely blown away how kind people are in this place! Not just the NP but also everyone in UC from front desk to lab technicians and medical assistants, they don't do shortcuts, no short answers - you ask a simple question they give you DETAILED ANSWERS. Very kind, very polite people. It is a whole new experience to me how genuinely caring they are to patients and treat us like family. The clinic is also well maintained and they have sanitizers in different places. I went home happy and told my husband all the wonderful experiences I've had and very grateful we are able to access UC's care thanks to him. read more

Honestly the worst coordination of care I've seen, both as a patient and a healthcare provider. They are unorganized, do not feel the need to communicate with patients, and are not on the same page. Started communicating with the referral department on October 3rd, Was told that I cannot schedule an appointment with neurosurgery until I get a copy of all my records and have recent imaging done. Imaging was done on 10/1, and records were sent over to UCI by October 3rd. Per UCI, they will call me back to confirm they got the fax. Never got a call back. Returned to my PCP and confirmed that they sent the fax. Called UCI and was told on 10/6 that they never called me back because it "wasn't what they needed." They now asked for a referral even though my insurance doesn't require referrals. Once the referral was sent, they told me to wait for a call back. 10/13 - Called again and spoke to Monica, who stated they already had my complete records since 10/8 but requested them to be resent to Veronica from the referral department. They stated that once the records are received, I should be getting a call on 10/14 for my appointment. 10/14: Called and spoke to Brenda. Per Brenda, all pages of the document were received, and they need a full 24 hours to read the 8 pages and get a call back. 10/15- Called again and spoke to Nicki who stated that all my documents were received but she is not able to help schedule my appointment even though she is working with scheduling since she is just "helping out." Called the new number I was given and spoke to Cynthia, who stated that a nurse named Aimee reviewed my documentation and deemed it incomplete, so they did not call me to update. They stated that there was no radiologist that signed my imaging. Once I verified which documents she received and she pointed out the radiologist's name on the document, she replied, "Oh, I'm not sure, but that's what neurology said." was given a new number to call. Spoke to Merily from Neurology, and she stated that she does not know why Nurse Aimee was in charge since she does not schedule and is not part of that process. Documents verified that they are complete, and Merilyn stated that she does have the full report, and she will tell Amy to call me back. Per Merilyn, they need another 24 hours and requested me to refax all forms again. Called one more time and spoke to Yesenia, who stated that now I have to go through the whole process again with the referral team because they do not have any of my imaging. I ended up calling Another provider from memorial care and got an appointment within 5 minutes of being on the phone. Overall, UCI Medical does not have their system or their process together. I would not recommend this place to anyone who needs care due to how they communicate with patients as well as the broken communication between departments. read more

Uci's phone system and customer support is the worst that I have ever seen and the accountability is beyond horrible. I hope that they soon get sued by a huge class action lawsuit as the administration and patient care services are incompetent and there is no doubt in my mind that many people have died or had serious medical complication as a result of poor management and incompetence and negligence. Horrible experience with the customer service call center Amelia and her manager Emily of the Pain Management department. They lie and deceive my patient right. I try to file a compliant at the UCI Patient Experience Department. Both the manager Stefanie Yoshii and her worker Norma are reluctant to help me to file a complaint. Instead they hang up the phone keep saying there is nothing they can do. AND they are supposed to help patients for their complaints? ZERO STAR FOR SUCH EXPERIENCE! read more

I have an inguinal hernia and went to UCI Health's General Surgery department for a consultation and a potential minor hernia repair. While the doctor appointment itself went acceptably, everything that happened afterward was a complete failure. After the doctor left the room, a nurse was supposed to schedule the next appointment and forward the ultrasound order that the doctor had already placed to the imaging department. Instead, I was left sitting alone for over 40 minutes, with no explanation, no follow-up, and no nurse checking in on me. Eventually, I had to leave the exam room and look for help myself. What I found was multiple nurses chatting casually during working hours, clearly more interested in socializing than doing their jobs or caring for patients who had been waiting. My visit took place on February 3. In any functional hospital, imaging orders are sent to the radiology department the same day so patients can schedule necessary tests. Yet when I contacted the imaging department on February 6, I was told they had never received any ultrasound order from General Surgery and instructed me to call that department again. When I called General Surgery, I asked a very simple question: When will the ultrasound order be sent to imaging? A nurse told me she would "let the doctor know," and that the order would be sent whenever the doctor has time and happens to see the message. When I asked for a specific date, I was told there was no timeline at all. So apparently, critical medical orders at UCI Health are handled based on availability, mood, or convenience. Maybe once the chatting stops and someone feels motivated enough, the order will be sent. This level of disorganization, indifference, and lack of accountability is alarming. It makes it impossible to trust this department with something as serious as a patient's health. After reading the many negative reviews on Yelp about UCI Health, my experience sadly confirms that those reviews are not exaggerated--they are accurate. read more

Horrible experience with a doctor here. After waiting seven weeks for an initial consultation, met with Dr. Gelman who spent four minutes with me, he was a doctor in the proper field but honestly he didn't seem to know what he was talking about. Then he told me I'd have to wait five to six months for the surgery I needed. I have insurance, I paid a $70 co-pay for this privilege, AND THEN these morons called me back two months later talking about I owe them another $210! Y'all can stand naked in the middle of Chapman Avenue and dance for your $210 as far as I'm concerned, you ain't gettin' it from me. Please keep in mind I had no tests done, I was administered no medications, they did no X-rays or cat scans or anything like that. I literally talked to a (stupid) doctor for four minutes. Staff are very nice & sweet. Yet, there is NO COMMUNICATION between doctors and staff. My blood pressures at home is usually normal with medications (twice a day). Here, they gave me different kinds of medications (including injections 3X a day). Nevertheless, my blood pressures are constantly high). A lot of promises made & not kept. Even after the whole team of doctors agreed to release me on Sunday (with my ex spouse as a witness), George refused to give me my discharge papers, stating doctors didn't agree to discharge me. AVOID UCI AT ALL COSTS!!! I have been goingt o UCI to see my Immunologist in Irvine for years. I was referred to the new Hospital on Jamboree for a Gastro visit, and in addition to the overbilled amount for a 30 minute consult. I was billed $180 dollars as a 'Facility Fee', they charge extra for going to the appt. In addition to having terrible new system called Epic which is faulty- you cannot book appointments, the appointment desk is non existent, you simply leaver your ph # and then wait for them to call, which they never do. Go to HOAG or ST. JOSEPHS. I recieved a comment from Kaitlyn on 1/20, I am not sure if she is a BOT or actual person, the page she sent me to voice my concerns only has- ' Choose your Clinicians' - no place to voice concerns. Megan was my nurse I was in Trauma room C I was there for asthma attack. My nurse was so nice so sweet she kept me calm as I was scared. There was a lot going on there it was a busy emergency room. I want to personally thank everyone who helped me at 1am I came by ambulance the paramedics thought it had to do with my heart but later cancelled that since it was just an asthma attack. I seem to get asthma attacks at night more than during the daytime. This attack straight woke me up out of bed. Thank you again Megan & thank you to my doctor & Respiratory nurse for giving me treatments and getting me another chamber thingie for inhalers. God Bless you all!!! read more

Went to UCI for an eye exam due to small flashes. After examination was sent to their specialist who examined me and determined I had Melanoma in my left eye due to a small spot in my eye. I explained my 89 year old mother has the same spot also. UCI doctor scheduled surgery and was going to have my left eye removed, radioactive plate sewn in, eye put back in for a week and then eye removed again and radioactive plate removed. After procedure I was informed that I would more than likely lose my vision in that eye. Thankfully I got a second opinion at UCLA four days before my scheduled surgery at UCI. The specialist at UCLA with 20 years of eye cancer experience informed me I was mis diagnosed and did not have Melanoma. UCLA monitors my eye every 6 months and all is good. I plead with anyone who reads this to not go to UCI and at least do you very best to get a second opinion. They were more interested in me signing a form authorizing them to let students watch the procedure than doing the right thing. Would never go back or send anyone there as I would be without vision in my eye right now had I gone through with the unnecessary surgery. read more
