Chicken breast, mojo rice and yuca
    Kasina G.

I went back again and OMG!!! Man, when I tell you the chicken breast was tender and flavorful, you best believe. I ordered the chicken breast with yuca, mojo rice and a side of tostones. Everything was so so good. This dish did not disappoint, go order you some and you will see. Good service and atmosphere.

Very clean, quiet, calming music, friendly staff, not very busy at the time I went but most orders are prepared when ordered, they do have soups, rice, beans, pastries and some Hot food readily available

A few days ago, I was driving through the area and noticed this Cuban Cafe in a desolate plaza. Did a quick review check through Yelp and observed a single review with a brutal (really horrific) one star rating. So of course I wanted a peek to provide my input from a self proclaimed master connoisseur of cultural eateries. The listed opening time online is 9am so of course I was sitting in the parking lot at 850am. Exactly at 9am, I noticed three employees decked out in La Vina logo attire who unlocked the front door and entered. Within minutes the Closed sign on the door was manually reversed to Open and excitement set in for hopefully a good experience. My first thought was how could the food prep be ready for incoming customers? The friendly owner greeted me and immediately poured a hot espresso into a non-logo foam cup. The dining area was clean and very spacious with a massive red La Viña Cuban Cafe sign affixed to the wall surrounded by several color coordinated red & white seating. The rear room behind the food display was in disarray and doubled as storage. The owner indicated that in the near future the rear room may be utilized as a buffet area which seems like a great idea. Im in a cuban cafe, so I try to order a coffee with a guava pastry, although the pastries were still sitting in the display rack from the day before - not a good sign. The owner advised the baker is making fresh guava pastry but will take fifteen minutes, which I impatiently waited for while sipping my coffee. The bathroom was absolutely spotless with an optional hand air blower. The guava was sweet and the crust was decently flaky and appreciated the freshness of my morning treat. An opinion as constructive criticism would be for the baker to arrive at least thirty minutes early to provide timely freshly prepared pastry for early morning customers. This family owned and managed bakery is only three months old and with only a couple minor hiccups, the cafe seems to be on a successful journey with a rational starting 3.5 star rating.

06/10/2025 - Came here as I live close by and was glad there was a cuban restaurant near by. The lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful. The food was good and filling, we definitely will be back, to.try other dishes. We had: 1.Masa de Puerco with moro, and Plantains -Very good and moist 2. Cuban Sandwich- Very good size and Very good. 3. Jupinia drinks

Ropa vieja (shredded beef), moros y christinanos (white rice and black beans) and platanos maduros (fried over-ripe plantains)

We visited Saturday after most each lunch. Only one other person in restaurant. Me and my lunch companion had ropa vieja (shredded beef), moros y christinanos (white rice and black beans) and maduros (fried over-ripe plantains). The food was delicious! Ropa vieja had just the right amount of salt (some Cuban restaurants over do it). This restaurant is in a strip mall shopping center. Food is ordered at the counter from the wall displayed menu shown in pics. Most of the cooked food is in the display case. I would consider this place as fast casual and I would consider ambiance as 4 star for what it is, a strip mall, fast casual Cuban restaurant.

If you like really good Cuban Cuisine, you will absolutely like this restaurant. Their prices are reasonable and the food quality is excellent. I ordered the Cuban Sandwich which came with pulled pork versus the sliced pork which some places give you. My guests told me that they really enjoyed their food. The restaurant is located in a strip mall that is a little rough for parking, but Don said let that dissuade you from eating there.

This might be the best Cuban food find I've made in a long time. La Viña is just five months old, tucked into a beat-up strip mall off University Drive in Tamarac, and absolutely worth the detour. The pan con lechón (ordered with extra onion and mojo) is a standout: roasted in-house pork, sautéed onions, and a hefty, crunchy piece of chicharrón, all served on fresh-baked Cuban bread -- which they also make themselves, both round and loaf. At $10.75 with fries or tostones, it's a massive juicy sandwich and a ridiculous value. I'd put it up against anything on Calle Ocho, and honestly, it might be better. Easily the best I've had in West Broward. Croquetas are made in-house as well -- crisp outside, creamy béchamel inside, no filler. They're served with a punchy cilantro dipping sauce that balances the richness perfectly. The passion fruit batido (ice cream shake) was tart, cold, and creamy -- a great match for the pork. And yes, in addition to house-baked empanadas they bake their own flan and bread pudding, which sit waiting in the display case to tempt you after the meal. This place is the real deal, top to bottom. Friendly service, humble setup, and serious food. I'll be back -- probably tomorrow.

Don Lucho's is probably the closest you will get to a Bronx or Spanish Harlem-style bodega sandwich…read moreshop in West Broward. It's in Coral Springs and has been open for at least two years, and I feel stupid not having gone there this long. It's inside a Grab-N-Go convenience store, and while there is some bench seating, it's a takeout-oriented business. The menu is a mix of Cuban, Peruvian, and Bodega-style breakfast and lunch sandwiches, empanadas, tamales, and ceviche (which I have not tried yet). I got two sandwiches: #1 The Chopped Cheese, which is NOT listed on the printed menu, is posted, and I suspect it is a fairly recent addition. This is not a particularly gourmet or foodie sandwich, as it was created in Harlem or the Bronx (nobody knows exactly; multiple people and bodegas claim origination). It is as blue-collar as it gets, with Latino, Yemeni, or Pakistani origins. But it has been the subject of much Youtuber, Instagrammer, and Tiktok fanfare in the last year or two. Essentially, it is ground beef (a burger) that has been chopped up on the grill using a large spatula and seasoned with an MSG-heavy Badia/Goya sazon or halal meat spice blend with melted American cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a hard roll. They're using a soft hoagie roll here, but it is excellent. In NYC, you can expect to spend $7 or less for a basic one; here, it's $10.55. It's good if you have that sort of craving. #2 The Butifarra. This is a Peruvian sandwich made with roast pork (sliced uncured ham), thinly sliced red onion, lettuce, and a lime dressing with oregano. It's really good. I also tried their in-house empanadas with ground beef and garlic shrimp. Both are good. The french fries are also really good; they are of the skin-on type, so it's definitely a better product than what most fast food places buy. Order them well done, (Buen Hecho) There are no tostones to be found here, though. They have a Cuban sandwich and a few other things that would go well with those. The place offers several different in-house dipping sauces; I got a spicy green one and a habanero one. When I took photos and video, the staff freaked out, "NO SE PUEDE GRABAR!" so I only got about 30 seconds of the chopped cheese being made. The bodega has typical convenience store stuff, but it also sells a brand of chips made in Miami called "Rap Snacks," which looks interesting.
