I have to admit, part of the allure of going to this place is to be able to say you sat in and ate the Tasty G Spot. Giggity. As odd as it is to go during the day and have brunch, I would say it is the move. You pull into a plaza where everything else is closed except for this business and say hi to the security guard stationed at the entrance of the place---at 11 AM---to walk into a lounge beautifully decorated with green walls, floral accents and a disco ball. It is clear that the majority of patrons come much later in the day, like after 9 PM, to get bottle service listening to a DJ or any other performer. This would explain why the air conditioning was cranked so high, to accommodate the bodies and electricity that would pack the place much later. Our server didn't crack a smile but immediately brought us water after we asked and rounded back twice to take our order. Like I said, going during the day when there are only about 5 other parties dining seems to be the move for prompt service and food preparation. The dishes came out super hot and fresh. The Creole Seafood Omelette ($26) was chock full of well seasoned shrimp and lobster and cheese, with a creamy roux on the side that was good to occasionally dip a bite into but wasn't necessary all the time. The potatoes that came on the side were just the right amount of crispy while leaving some heartiness to them. The Fried Chicken and Waffles ($26) included flavorful fried chicken with breading that didn't quit when you tore it or cut into it. The cool part of this dish is the choice you have of the waffle it comes with. The Cookies and Cream Waffles should be your go-to. They were topped with the chocolate cookie sandwich crumbles and a great homemade vanilla icing. For a Lauderhill establishment in an area where you really don't know of anything else happening, this place is worth a venture out for your brunch. Literally one of my favorites now. Queen is a phenomenal bartender. The lemon pepper wings were crunchy, but didn't have enough lemon pepper seasoning on it to my taste. Other than that, everything that I tried here has been amazing. I ordered the Garcia sausage over some Gouda grits. À la carte and I was not disappointed. The fruity pebble waffle is so crunchy sweet and yummy Do not miss the shrimp and grits and the salmon bites are a must try. Not only that but some of the best chicken wings ive had in a long time. The atmosphere was lively, and the music really set the tone for a fun, relaxed vibe. If you're looking for a place to have brunch tasty g spot is the place to be. The ambiance is nice and they have a DJ who plays r and b music while you dine. I went for a birthday brunch and they allowed us to decorate the tables. It was a large party but our server was great her name was Mari. Our food came out in a timely manner. I had the salmon and grits, it was so good i forgot to take a picture ! The oxtail and grits was another favorite but the table. My friend and I visited Tasty G Spot expecting to have an enjoyable dining experience, and while I understand that restaurants can become busy, the overall wait time was extremely disappointing. We waited approximately 45 minutes to an hour just to be seated. Once we were finally seated, we were informed that we would have to wait another 45 minutes to an hour for our food. After placing our order, we waited approximately 30 minutes just for our pitcher of mimosas to arrive. Throughout our entire visit, our waitress only came by our table about 2-3 times, and each interaction was very brief. After waiting more than 45 minutes, we were then informed that the order we had placed earlier was only just being put in. At that point, the experience became increasingly frustrating, especially considering how long we had already been waiting. I want to emphasize that I am a reasonable person and understand that weekends can be busy and that delays can happen. However, the combination of the extended wait to be seated, the additional wait for food, the lack of communication and table service, and the delay in our order made the experience very difficult to enjoy. Unfortunately, the food was not worth the amount of time or money we spent. My friend did speak with the manager about our experience. The manager was understanding and explained that they recommend coming during the weekday rather than on the weekend for a better experience. I appreciate the manager taking the time to address our concerns, but based on this visit, I would hope the restaurant considers improving its weekend staffing, communication, and service. Customers are more understanding of long wait times when they are kept informed and feel attended to throughout their visit. read more

Hidden gem that you may miss driving by but once you're inside, it's like you're transported to a pretty forest garden. Very Instagramable decor and they have spots set up just for good photos. The staff is friendly and the food is good looking too. There's a full bar and a lot of good drink creations. They don't serve coffee though. Lemonade and juices are available. I tried the fried chicken and French toast. It was delicious. The chicken wings were lightly breaded, fried very crispy and seasoned well. Comes with 5 pieces plus 4 wonderfully battered pieces of bread. Everything was fresh and came out piping hot. The grits were buttery and smooth. I went with the "cookies & cream chicken & waffles" and my friend went with the "fried pork chop" sadly neither one of us could say that the food was amazing. It was decent at best. I liked the chicken wings they were fried & seasoned perfectly. The waffles tasted like the waffles you make in the waffle makers at hotels - but not the good hotels, it's like a best western vibe waffle. My friend said the fried pork chop was tuff, hard to cut through and chew. He enjoyed the grits but the eggs were too salty. I had elderly aunties with me & there were no complaints! I had the pound cake French toast with wings & tried the mango lemonade & the raspberry lemonade! Chile! It is literally pound cake, so you are having dessert for breakfast! Big backs beware! It was delicious! It needed no syrup because with the powdered sugar, it was sweet enough! Don't let the look of this place fool you because it's located inside a warehouse across from a car garage, but the food is amazing and so is the service. 2 sitting tables outside and 3 located inside, tight space, but immediately greeted once walking in. The menu has a variety of choices with reasonable prices. My friend ordered the salmon bites with grits, I ordered the stuffed strawberry French roar with wings and side order of grits with sauce... amazing and fresh! the arrival of the food was about 30-35 minutes, but it's worth it. Complained and waited at table for about 7 mins before a manager came to check on us. Which she stepped out, but we weren't notified. Young lady with glasses came over to take our food. Well that was a very good idea. We walked in the place is definitely inviting don't judge it by the outside. Our waitress was Michelle she was very kind professional and patient. We asked her a couple of questions about the menu she knew exactly what we were talking about she was able to answer the questions with details. They do have a bar and it looks to be a full bar. The food was absolutely amazing everything we ordered was amazing. The portions were huge we each brought half of our food home. There was one thing that one of us ordered coffee and the coffee was cold but of course Michelle was right on top of it and she took care of it and was very apologetic. I recently visited Tasty G's and overall the food was delicious and very fresh. The restaurant has a beautiful aesthetic and the atmosphere is very welcoming when you walk in, which made me excited to try it. I ordered the shrimp and grits and added Gouda cheese. The dish itself tasted great and the ingredients were clearly fresh. I also added a side order of toast, but it was brought out much later than the rest of the meal. Unfortunately, when it finally came out, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the delay. My main issue during the visit was with our server, Destiny. When I asked a question about my order because I didn't see the cheese (I later realized it was mixed in), her response came across as very rude and aggressive. I was simply asking for clarification, but her tone and delivery felt unnecessarily harsh. The food and ambiance were great, but customer service is a big part of the dining experience. The catfish is not crispy and it was too fishy unfortunately we returned that also. The lobster is a bit salty considering it's already a salty meat shouldn't have to season it as much, we ordered a Mimosa pitcher in which the bartender gave us flat champagne so we had to return it, our waitress fixed it over and it was delicious. We were set at a table with a ceiling leak so we were moved. They didn't block the area off and turned around and sat more guest there which was awkward. Otherwise not a bad experience at all. It was close to noon when my brother and I arrived, and it was packed. People were standing waiting to order, some eating in their cars, 2 outside tables and 4-4 seater tables inside. We were prepared to order and go due to limited seating, but as luck would have it, we snagged a table when a family of 4 were leaving. My brother ordered the red velvet waffles and wings$20 and I ordered the salmon bites, cheesey grits and eggs with a side of the house potatoes $40. Tasty G is the epitome of a hidden gem, the food was seasoned to perfection. The service was warm and inviting. Would definitely recommend this place for breakfast. Giving this place a 4-star because it didn't have proper flatware, glasses for drinks and the ice machine was broken. But the place is very small on the inside maybe 3-4 tables inside and they do have some seating outside.
