Service was quick. Seems more like a local spot than a place you would travel to and reminds me of those old school Italian spots you would see in little Italy near UIC. Portions are large so you won't go home hungry. The menu is quite big too so there might be something for everyone as long as you love carbs

LaVilla is not only a place for great food, but the perfect spot for dinner before the theater. The six of us came in from Lake Zurich to see The Phantom of the Opera and stopped at LaVilla for a pre-theater dinner. The bar, the service, and the food were all outstanding. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of and got downtown to the theater on time. A special thank you to Chris for all the personal touches--they truly made the evening special. We love LaVilla!

Excellent service, decent food with expansive selection, clean. Bland theming. The 40 dollar rib-eye was really filling but thin (not the best rib-eye I've ever had, but, then again, this is an Italian restaurant). It was in a wine sauce. Also had a minestrone soup - okay. A salad - okay. They don't do substitutions on sides. They give the table wrapped mini breadsticks , cheesy focaccia bread, and some other cheesy bread. On the other side of the restaurant they had more cozy, romantic atmosphere - dimmer lighting and a band playing. We were seated in the opposite side which was quite and open and not all that interesting unfortunately.

Ordered a pizza for take out. It was ready in 30 minutes and they were able to do split margarita and supreme. Very delicious! We got an XL since there was a coupon on their take out menu and it was more than enough food. Will be back!

Have to try this when is in season!!!!!!

10/10!!! The food speaks for itself. Food was Phenomenal, Best Pasta I've ever had! Christopher did a great job and was so attentive to us. The atmosphere was awesome, I would recommend anyone and everyone to try this place out!

Service is lax until it's time to pay. Food is mediocre at best and far too pricey for the quality.

Ask the Community - La Villa

    Any outdoor dining available?

No, probably better that way as the traffic could get noisy around there

Do they still have the salad bar?

As already said, no, because of Covid, the salad bar has been removed. I've been there 3 times since early summer. Fantastic! Please go!

Can I buy like the dough for pizza here? I love their pizza but I've been meaning to make my own pizza. A sloppy experiment I've been meaning to try . That's why i wanted to know if I can buy the dough.

Call them. lol. I doubt they would say no. They certainly aim to please and value their customers. I guess I've been going there since about 1981 and never heard no to anything reasonable

Although we are from the area, we had never visited before, and the photos immediately caught our attention. The bar fit our vibe perfectly, and after visiting a few times, we knew it was the right place for us. We rented both spaces: the main bar upstairs and Nightshade, the speakeasy downstairs. Moonflower has a small stage in the main bar, which we used for our ceremony. The space already has so much character that it needed very little decorating. We brought small flower vases and an altar piece that the bride and her now mother in law made together. After the ceremony, we held cocktail hour and served food buffet style in the main bar. Later, everyone moved downstairs to Nightshade. Its lounge atmosphere and dance floor were perfect for our 50 to 60 guests. Some people relaxed around the cocktail tables while others danced, so everyone could enjoy the night in their own way. Moonflower's event organizer, Morgan, was wonderful. She made the entire planning process feel easy and was a joy to work with. She helped turn our ideas into reality, assisting with day of logistics, décor, beverage packages, and every question that came up. She was always responsive and available. Morgan also helped us think through details that had not occurred to us, including coffee for our guests, explaining the parking situation, contacting nearby businesses about using their lots, and recommending DJs. We ultimately hired one of the DJs she suggested. Her extra support was incredibly helpful and took a great deal of stress out of planning. If you have not tried Moonflower's drinks, you are missing out. Their regular cocktail menu is fantastic, and our experience was even more special because of a custom cocktail session with Zach. He created signature drink options for each of us based on our tastes and favorite cocktails. Every option was spectacular, and the final drinks felt personal and special. We chose Funeral Potatoes for the food. Since they already handle the food at Moonflower, we were able to try many dishes beforehand. Our guests raved about everything. We especially recommend the brussels sprouts, deviled eggs, and caprese sandwiches. Alexis, who heads up Funeral Potatoes, was also extremely helpful with selecting the menu. The only outside food we brought in was our wedding cake. The entire staff was phenomenal. Everyone treated the occasion with the perfect balance of care, professionalism, and fun. The night went off without a hitch and was truly one of the best nights of our lives. Moonflower was also extremely reasonable compared with other venues we considered in the city, especially with an open bar and food available on site. Street parking was plentiful, and none of our guests had trouble finding a spot. For anyone looking for a relaxed wedding for 50 to 60 people with a memorable lounge atmosphere, fantastic staff, buffet style food, and exceptional cocktails, Moonflower should be at the top of your list.

The service was awesome - I always love chopping it up with Black bartenders - and the crowd was very very queer. I was legitimately in heaven. So much doesn't feel safe right now - especially with the J6 goon squad running amok in Chicago trafficking people. It was nice to be among my people enjoying great drinks in a buzzy atmosphere. They have a back patio too, and there was a food popup going on during our visit though we did not try anything.
