I've been to this place for a handful of times since they opened and their food and service is always amazing. It's family and locally run so they really try to build a connection with the community. The place is spacious inside, plenty of seating for relaxing or doing work/homework. Their patio is huge and they are pet friendly! One of the best coffee places here in the Washington St /Heights area
This was such a cute restaurant! I loved the ambiance and bright colors. The coffee is amazing and the jalapeno bagel incredible as well! There is plenty of parking as well.
met a few people at this cafe. the service was great accommodating our size and putting the drinks out in a timely matter. ambiance was very mom and pop. the blueberry muffin was nice and warm. i decided to try their dubai chocolate frape and was happy to find that it had no milk in it. it was an interesting flavor that you don't often find. the crunch at the top was a nice addition to the drink. overall it was a good time here.
La Vita Coffee is a unique establishment located along Washington Avenue before you get to Yale if traveling West. I told the owner the alley behind the business is actually labeled as Waughford on Google maps even though the street sign is only located across the street. I have seen signage for the two businesses located in this building for months, but only just recently stopped by early one day. Burger Vibe is the other business which operates out of the same building and counter. At first, I thought maybe this is a case of two juxtaposed businesses, but it is actually a 2-in-1 situation, if that makes sense. Decor-wise, I couldn't really get into it, but I think the place has a good, peaceful vibe to it. I ordered a Caramel Macchiato (I love caramel) and really enjoyed it, so delicious. However, reading my receipt later, I was not a fan of the upcharges. An iced coffee with a base cost of $5.85 had a $1 upcharge for oat milk and $1 upcharge for espresso modification for a total of $7.85. They need to rethink this. Mariel T.'s and Christina H.'s reviews also address the pricing on coffee. The cranberry orange muffin I ordered was kind of on the tough side but still tasted good. At one point, I sat outside and enjoyed being out there just watching the traffic go by. I would like to come back one day and order a chai latte and a burger. The way the burger was described to me made it sound like it's really good.
We have tried this cafe twice because we were in the area and were not disappointed at all. The service was very friendly, and took their time to answer any questions and were open to adjust our orders as we liked. We ordered an iced chai latte which was easily one of the tastier and better ones I have had in the Houston area, it does come on the sweeter side but you have the option to ask for it less sweet which is nice. We also got a Brown sugar pumpkin Shakerado, which was also very tasty! We definitely want to try out their food items, as they also service burgers and other pastries! There is plenty of seating in their spacious and Tuscan feel decor, so it's a good place to do work.
I want to applaud this owner--our interaction with him was so pleasant. He provided several options for us, happily answered our questions, and even offered suggestions that we ended up liking without being too forward. I also noticed he was very clean and diligent in making sure the blender was throughly washed between making drinks, as my friend has a milk allergy. That attention to detail (you can tell he was knowledgeable about what he serves and happy to serve) and care to his customers is worth acknowledging. the exterior is unassuming, but upon walking in, you instantly feel it's a spacious and cozy coffee shop (and burger and bagel spot?!). There were several people studying here. What's surprising is the variety of drinks and food! (I've never heard of a prickly pear or lemon grass matcha!). Vegan and gluten free friendly options. The owner detailed he provides different matchas, including traditional unsweetened and a creamy, sweet matcha from Italy as well. With his recommendation, I got a hot matcha latte w/ espresso shot and it was a good evening pick me up before heading out to dance with friends. The pastries appear homemade. Everyone with me enjoyed their drinks. I'm going to have to come back to try some burgers and other items soon :)
Spontaneous stop for a warm beverage for an art class in Montrose. Grabbed a chai latte due to a tickle in my throat. Lovely blend of sweet and spicy. 10/10 And this is coming from a Patel! Service was friendly and prompt. Once you know where it is- easy to get to. Parking was good for this part of town. Large space with various seating. Decor was casual eclectic. Large patio. There was a faint smell of cigarettes- so ew.
This is a very pretty café. The coffee is delicious. We had the jalapeño cheddar bagel with honey cream cheese. Yummy. The staff were very nice and friendly.
We recently visited La Vita Coffee and Burger Vibe on Washington Avenue and honestly loved it so much. It's such a unique concept with New York style burgers and bagels, Italian coffee, smoothies, and gelato all in one place. I had the strawberry gelato and it literally tasted like a strawberry milkshake. It was so creamy and flavorful. My husband got the cheesy bacon fries and they were really good too. We were too full to try the burgers this time but the prices looked super affordable. We also grabbed half a dozen bagels to enjoy this week and they look amazing. You can truly feel that this is a family owned business. The space is big and welcoming and the owners are so kind. It just feels personal and genuine in a way that's hard to find. The only challenge is the location since Washington is busy and parking takes some intention, but it is absolutely worth the stop. We're already planning to go back and try more. Please go support them. It's a special spot.

WOW. I woke up this morning to no power in my temporary apartment here in Houston, and I couldn't be happier about it. Why? Because I found this delightful spot for breakfast and caffeine. I'm a frequent traveler, and have already hit some incredible food spots here in Houston. This is now at the top of my breakfast and coffee/tea stops. Drink: I had a divine dirty chai latte with pistachio nut milk (a new milk for me) which really added a fresh twist on a classic morning beverage favorite. La Vita's owner, a very sweet and passionate man who clearly loves what he's doing here, shared that they fly in their chai in powder form from Italy. No nasty syrups or pre-mixed chai here and I can absolutely tell the difference! Food: I had THE BEST everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese since my last trip to Manhattan. I won't spill the beans on how they achieve this, but they have legit true NYC bagels here. DO NOT PASS ON THIS sandwich! You'll be very sorry you did. The ambiance is chill, with loads of seating, and the service is top-notch. I highly recommend you get over here as soon as possible! Definitely an interesting little place to explore when you're out and about looking for something different. Parking is tricky. Make sure you don't park in Schlotzsky's - signs are posted. There is a hightop chess / checkers table, and Saturday morning even included a few people involved in dance lessons. Had an iced chai latte - exactly as the barista suggested - and it was delicious. They have a large coffee menu for the coffee lovers. Multiple flavors of NY style bagels are available, with a wide selection of spreads. They arrive daily from NY partially cooked - finished on site - and available until 12pm. Ordered up the Southern Burger - leaving off the serrano peppers - SO DELICIOUS! The fried green tomato was a perfect topper. I cut it in 1/4ths - still too much! Made the burger a meal - with onion rings. The perfect size ring! They also offer steak fries or brussel sprouts as a side - the sprouts are flash fried and topped in a choice of flavors. Several seating options inside + a partially covered patio. read more

We have tried this cafe twice because we were in the area and were not disappointed at all. The service was very friendly, and took their time to answer any questions and were open to adjust our orders as we liked. I got the sugar-free iced vanilla latte and it was very good! The man who served me was very hospitable, and the restaurant is peaceful and quiet (perfect for studying). The free WiFi is why I came here initially, but I'll be back for the above reasons! read more

I'm picky with burgers and this one really surprised me. The flavor was exactly what I've been looking for. The beef tasted fresh and real, not bland or frozen. The cheese melted perfectly, the sauce had the right kick, and the grilled onions were done right. Everything came together clean. The bun was soft but held up the whole time. No falling apart. The fries were crispy and seasoned well. You could tell they were cooked fresh and not sitting around. Overall this spot hit. Simple, good, and worth going back for. I'd order this same burger again without changing anything. read more

Definition of a hidden GEM! Unless you're looking for it, the place is easy to look over as it's on a busy intersection and you're usually on that intersection when you have somewhere to be. But let me tell you the day i decided to come was a great one! And now I've been back many times with multiple friends and we all agree the place is delicious! The place has a nice outdoor patio with beautiful sunset views of the cityscape around you! The interior is very vibey with old touches and an antique flow. There are fun little board games and it makes for a relaxing hangout spot to talk and enjoy food! As for the food it is great!! The Texan burger is delicious and the cook cooks it with love! Everything here is made from scratch like their in house seasoning and in house sauces. They even grind the meat fresh in house! The onion rings are some of the best I've had in a long time. Every time I come here the burger vanishes really fast, and not because it's a small one. They also have other cultural burgers like their oriental burger, the Mexican burger, the Italian burger, and much more! If you're looking for a tasty gourmet burger spot that's very filling and brings good vibes then look no further and go ahead and give Burger Vibe a shot! read more

Comfortable with plenty of room. Food and drink is very addictive. Matcha latte with pistachio milk has me in a chokehold which is the only reason I don't order the brilliant chai. Parking is easier than it looks and so worth the effort read more

BAGELS! As someone who has been on an endless hunt for the perfect bagel sandwich, I can finally say--this place nails it. A true NYC-style bagel shop in the heart of Houston? Believe it. From the first bite, you know these bagels are it! Fresh, Chewy, flavorful, and with that unmistakable authenticity that's so hard to find outside of New York. 100% ordering it again. Surprisingly good burger and a decent, lowkey place to get some work down and convenient if you need a coffee Ambiance: 7/10. Nice place in the inside, buts definitely a cross between a restaurant and coffee shop. It has a lot of restaurant type tables but you can pick any and sit. It has some coaches but don't seem like the best to work from since they're tucked in the corner. Regardless there is a lot of space and a large patio if you want to sit outside. Food: 9/10. Extremely surprised by the quality of burger. Seems like they opened a burger hustle called Burger Vibe. We got a regular burger with fries and a Texans burger with fries. Those fries were crispy! Nice crunch and good seasoning. Fantastic to eat and be eh enjoyable. Decent portion eight the burger, but easily can get another order because of how good they are! As for the burgers, the integrity of the burger held up. The Texan came with onions, onion rings, pepper jack cheese, bacon, pickles, bbq sauce and a side of pickle jalapeños. It was a heart boy and never felt that the burger was breaking apart. The flavor was rich and great! Found myself enjoying each bite and enjoying how juicy it was! Hit the spot and would try other burgers again! As for drinksx regular fountains drinks, and with free refills! Can't beat that! Overall, 8/10! Great burger spot and convenient if you're in the area. Such an amazing place! The sweetest owner and omg the chai was incredible!!!! They just came out with a tropical matcha was was so so delicious definitely coming back for the matcha and as I was walking in I could over hear a couple talking about how amazing and delicious the burgers they just had were AND free parking!!! read more
