Never been to the Austin locations but Jo's seems to be fitting into Houston just fine. Love me a coffee shop that opens a little later; an escape to wait out the crazy evening traffic. I got lucky & snagged one of the 2 parking spots they had in the front but there is a huge PARKING LOT in the back. This is a great spot to study / get some work done. They have 6 two seater tables with OUTLETS all long the bench. There's a 5 seater bar facing out to the street & lots of outdoor seating. This place seems to be PET FRIENDLY allowing dogs on their PATIO. I got their ICED TURBO (on draft). It's their signature however I will say it tasted like a slightly spiked CHOCOLATE MILK for me. I can't vouch for how much of a caffeine boost I'll get from this. I prefer a stronger coffee flavor so I won't get this one again but their other drinks sounds good. PRICING wise I feel like everything is very fair. A LARGE coffee is $6 vs paying $8 at other cafes. They have BREAKFAST TACOS from 7am till sold out & GRAB & JO'S at 11am. Pastries anyone? Accidental find. Super close to me. There is additional parking in the back along with a back entrance. It's a cute quaint small coffee bar. There were two customers working (around 2 pm on a weekday). There was one young lady in the front working who was very friendly and acknowledged me as soon as I walked in. They have a drive thru too. She was working both. I don't drink coffee so had a hot chocolate and picked up a few pastries. Def would go back to meet a friend or for a sweet snack. read more

This place is a great coffee spot! I've only had their iced lattes but they are always very good with lots of flavor. They have a specialty drink on draft which is my favorite - the Iced Turbo (hazelnut and chocolate). Lavender latte is also good! The tacos and kolaches are good as well, but always always sell out early so they can be hard to get. They have a drive through and plenty of parking. It's a nice quiet place too to study inside. The pistachio latte was a bit sweet to my liking and I couldn't really taste the pistachio but it was pretty good and there were open tables inside so it was nice to study in. My friend ordered the blueberry matcha but it was not good. It was super syrupy that puts a weird coat in the mouth and could not taste the matcha at all over the sweetness of the blueberry. The workers were nice though and they had milk on the side that we added a bit to my friends drink but then it just tasted like blueberry milk. read more

Excited to try out Austin's import of Java. Plenty of parking in lot and dog friendly with indoor and outdoor seating. Iced Turbo was like a hazelnut Vietnamese coffee and the hot Bungalow has a kick with cinnamon and cayenne pepper. Saw folks trying out the breakfast tacos it's of families today. Service is friendly and they just opened. Ambiance is Austin chic. Highly recommended for coffee! read more

In a part of town that seems to have coffee shops at every corner, Jo's coffee is unique in offering a large parking lot with drive through and breakfast tacos. I was in the area and wanted to check out a new coffee shop since I'm rarely in the heights. I stopped by another place first but couldn't find a parking spot so I was excited to see so many parking spots here. It was a chilly day so I chose to go through the drive thru instead. It's nice they have the option. I got an iced turbo drink. I always try drinks from special menu at coffee shops. From the description of the drink I was expecting something to be a little more unique. It was good, just not as unique as I had hoped. It also seemed small for $6. Originating in Austin, Jo's coffee opened a location in the Heights. The floor to ceiling windows offered a lot of sunlight to the light industrial/ Austin chic interior. I ordered the Belgium on tap (which is Iced Turbo mixed with cold brew) just in case the signature Iced Turbo would be too sweet. The coffee was decent but nothing special. Given Heights has so many other boutique coffee shops that offer better tasting coffee, I won't be a regular here. read more

It's "okay". You see, the problem is that here in the Heights, there are just too many choices. And most of those have spectacular coffee. Right down the street is New Heights Coffee Roasters. Local, excellent roaster. A bit further is historically significant Antidote, though I've never thought much of the west Texas roaster that they use. Then you have the grandfathers of the Houston Coffee Scene, in Catalina and Boomtown. And the higher end specialty places of Tenfold and Simply Coffie. And that's just scratching the surface. So I found myself underwhelmed by Jo's and actually disliking their so called "Turbo" coffee. read more

Super clean and quiet place to do work or grab a quick bite or drink. There is a drive-through option if you are in a rush. I was surprised at how reasonable the prices were for the quality and ambience. My drink was super refreshing and I will definitely return to try their tacos when available! read more

Finally stopped by Jo's to give it a try. Have passed by this place numerous times. It didn't disappoint. Really cute interior with good amount of seating inside & outside. Plenty of natural light which is a plus. Had a Winter Berry Matcha (from winter special menu) and a cheddar/jalapeno scone, which were both really good. Would definitely recommend. Friendly staff. They even had a drive thru which is not too common for the area. Will definitely return when in the area! read more

Heard this place was in town and decided to give it a try while waiting for my dog to get groomed down the street. The Jo's special is tasty. Period. Can't wait to get that again. My taco from Taco Deli and no fault of Jo's had a tortilla that wasn't cooked all the way. I was able to trade it out and had a cooked tortilla on my next one. There was a group of people who seemed to be waiting a while for something but wasn't sure what was happening. Drive thru was rolling along but overall they seemed really busy but the place wasn't even packed. Probably just a new business ironing out its kinks per usual. read more

Overall the staff the coffee the croissants were great. Just the place itself was small. We traveled 25 mins to this location due to its great reviews on coffee and were hoping to stay. All the tables were taken (really limited tables and chairs) so we tried to sit outside in 38 degree weather, you can guess what happened, we ended up leaving. Either way what I really liked was how they greet you and the coffee was delicious. Still wish it was bigger, I don't think I would travel 25 mins again for coffee though unless I can sit and drink it there. read more
