    Seafood Chimichanga platter

Consistent and decent food here! I typically get pupusas which are great, but they are seemingly out of stock at this time. I usually order food here to go, and I had to call in our order since their online ordering system is not working right now, but someone answered immediately, told us our food would be ready in 20 min which it was, and we were able to pick up with no hassle! A lot of parking in this lot, and the to-go food comes well packaged in containers and plasticware. The food itself tasted great, I particularly enjoyed the chimichanga and the rice! They also provide chips and salsa, both of which are solid. Will definitely order from here again!

My wife and I were shopping in Gaithersburg, Maryland on Tuesday and decided to try this obscure and unheralded Mexican strip mall restaurant for lunch again...we had not dined here for three years. It's located and the old walnut hill shopping center strip mall. As we entered the restaurant, we noticed its very nice clean, modern, and spacious décor. My wife ordered shrimp fajitas and I ordered steaks fajitas. Both were excellent and I especially liked the fact that I could specify the doneness of my steak... I requested my steak fajitas medium rare, and the steak was done perfectly. The shells on my wife's shrimp had to be peeled off but their delicious flavor made this minor inconvenience not a problem. The service was excellent and quite fast. The restaurant itself is very spacious, attractive, clean, and modern. The tile restrooms are also very clean and spacious. The charge for the two fajita meals and one diet Coke and one iced tea was $48 plus tip..... which was pretty pricey for lunch. But the fajitas were a large "dinner portion" meal. If you are on a luncheon budget either of the fajita entrées were large enough that they could be split reducing the cost of this lunch meal by 50%. This is still a quite nice restaurant with excellent fajitas. We will be back to enjoy their fajitas again when we are in the Gaithersburg, Maryland area.

We were in the mood for Mexican food, so we checked out La Vina Mexican Grill in Walnut Shopping Center. The cocktails came in three sizes - small, medium, and jumbo. We enjoyed a medium-sized House Margarita and medium-sized Sangria. For appetizers, we shared an order of Gambas Al Ajillo, which consisted of shrimps sautéed with olive oil, garlic, and cherry wine sauce served with grilled bread. We also enjoyed the Lomo Saltado and Tacos De Birria. We loved how tender and flavorful the Lomo Saltado was and how savory the birria consumme was!

I stopped by Friday afternoon for a late lunch. Wasn't too busy then so it was pretty chill inside. The staff was super friendly and got my food out fast. Everything came out hot and tasty. Those birria tacos were legit, the meat was tender and packed with flavor. Made me curious what this place is like when it's happy hour. Overall, had a solid meal and dug the relaxed vibe. La Vina is a great local spot to kick back and enjoy some tasty authentic birria whenever.

I came here for a Friday dinner with the wife, I was planning on ordering the tacos but ended up trying the Lomo Saltado and a "medium" sized margarita. The margarita was great and was much larger than I was expecting! The food was fantastic, fresh flavors and the steak was so tender. Our server was outstanding and made sure we were taken care of and happy with our food. There was plenty of seating available and a large parking lot out front. Overall I would definitely recommend checking this one out.

Oh my goodness!! This was some of the best takeout Ive had in ages...I wish I would've known about this place sooner!! My food arrived hot and packaged well (via uber eats)..and all the meals were cooked to absolute perfection. The salmon with caper sauce...oh my lawd!! Super tasty..not over cooked...great portion size!! Nachos...with all the fixings on the side (salsa, sour cream, guacamole)..is always a solid choice. Lomo Saltado (traditionally a Peruvian street food dish) was well seasoned and tender.....however, I would've preferred the fries be served on the side to maintain a little crunch. I'll definitely order from here again..Highly recommend if you're in the area!!

Tacos de Birria, Tres Leches, Platanos

I wanted to order something quick for take out since I had to catch a movie showing afterwards. I decided to try La Viña Mexican Grill because I never had before and their menu sounded like it had a lot of delicious food options. I ordered tacos de birria, tres leches, and platanos for myself and I was beyond pleased. The tacos tasted so fresh, crispy in the right places, seasoned beautifully, and mouth-watering. The beef stew was incredible-- tons of flavors bursting in my mouth. The tres leches cake was so moist and perfectly sweet without being overly sweet. The platanos were caramelized so well. The chips were nice and light with a perfect crisp to them. The whole meal was completely satisfying and I told myself that I had to go back and order more one day. My family was also very satisfied with their food. Unfortunately I couldn't get a nice picture since they were so eager to eat their food and enjoyed it so fast. They ordered two whole fried fish, a cheese pupusa, and salmon. The fried fish was unbelievably crispy on the outside and fresh and tender on the inside. The fish meat literally melted away in your mouth-- that's how soft and juicy it was. The pupusa was so yummy and soft and cheesy in the center. The salmon was fresh and cooked very well with perfect seasoning. Overall, a very pleasant meal for the whole family and we will definitely be returning for more.

    Steak Fajitas

Their chips and salsa was fresh. I love how they have chunks of vegetables in the salsa. True Mexican restaurant move. I asked my steak to be medium but lots of restaurants don't know what medium is because I always get done. I don't understand what the hype was all about in the reviews but I'm glad I tried this place out.

I did takeout here with my sisters. This was my first time trying birria tacos and though they were okay, they were not all what I imagined it to be, way too much cheese, like cheese overkill. Birria tacos are definitely overhyped in my opinion. However, I would not be opposed to coming back again to try something else.

I want to thank Kathy and staff for amazing food and customer service. We ordered fagitas for catering for our child's small family gathering and it was so delicious with outstanding customer service. Thank you so much for everything!!

I loved this place. Went here on a whim, seeing the decent reviews on Yelp. Our waitress was fantastic, super friendly engaging with our kids. We went on a weekday so there was only one other family. The food was fantastic. They start you off with chips and salsa along with a green sauce. The green sauce was DELICIOUS!! I could eat it with anything ! We got the Orange pork, Lomo saltado, and the rainbow trout. The pork was the best, tender and the gravy on point. The Lomo was a little over cooked so the beef was a bit chewy. I doused the beef with that green sauce. The fish was fantastic too, although my hubby wished it was a bit more spicy. My kids loved the chicken quesadilla. I only wish they had margaritas as well. Hopefully they get their liquor license soon enough.

I've been coming here for years, and it's one of those places that never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is lively, and you always know you're going to leave happy. I'm originally from Honduras, and one of our staple dishes... arguably THE staple dish... is the baleada. A fresh flour tortilla filled with refried beans, cheese, and crema, with the option to add extras like eggs, avocado, or different meats. I knew this had to be where Kyler experienced his very first baleada. To say it was a success would be an understatement. Kyler isn't the most adventurous eater, so getting his stamp of approval is a pretty big deal. He's officially a fan for life! We were there with my mom, and all three of us ordered some variation of a baleada along with pupusas to share. I also had to introduce Kyler to our version of horchata, which is different from the Mexican horchata he was used to. As an added bonus, we happened to visit during the World Cup, and the energy in the restaurant made the experience even more fun. Between the familiar flavors, sharing a piece of my culture with someone I love, and the consistently great food, this meal ended up being one of the highlights of our trip back to Maryland. If you've never had a baleada before, let La Casita be your introduction. You won't regret it.

They let me know the Sweet Domino arepa can be made vegan with no cheese. I ordered this and really appreciated how kind and accommodating the woman at the register was. The sweetness of the plantains added a nice contrast to the savoriness of the black beans. Additionally this arepa was PACKED with filling. I was shocked how small yet satiating this meal was. It has been a long time since I last had them, and I was excited for my friend to try them. We each got an arepa, and we split tequenos and chicken empanadas... Yes, we were hungry lol. The chicken salad arepa I was as good as I remembered, and I got a glass of white wine that complimented it perfectly. It was my first time having their tequenos, and they were nice and cheesy. I'd take those over mozzarella sticks for real. There was only one woman working, and she was efficient in handling orders. I would come back just to hang out... It was JUMPIN' this night! It was a Saturday - they had a DJ, waitresses dressed in matching outfits, and it was packed in there. Disco lights went crazy. Somehow we were able to get a table and sat down to order food. We thought we could get good margaritas here but the only flavor they offered was lime unfortunately. Our food took a really long time to come out but when it did, omg it was worth the wait. It was hot and you could tell everything was fresh and quality. Side note: knowing Spanish will help a lot when coming here. It's a mainly Spanish speaking establishment. Luckily, I'm Latina so I could communicate with the waitress once I noticed her English wasn't strong. All in all, this is a good spot for good Mexican food and late night food. I just give it 4 stars for the lack of cocktails...they didn't have a lot of what showed on the menu (pina coladas, etc.) and for the long wait for food when most people were just drinking at the bar.

While waiting to get it fixed we Found Antojitos, a little Mexican cantina in an older strip mall. It was early aftternoon, and there were several groups of men and families eating and drinking. I sensed that they had been there for awhIle, and intended to stay longer, as if this www how they usual spent their Saturday afternoons. Scanning the menu for something interesting my eyes caught the word Mondongo. Reading the menu details ( in Spanish only) I conFirmed that this was a rich tripe stew. I think my son had a steak and egg burrito. Our meals took a while to arrive. Maybe 20 mInutes. The Mondongo was served in a large bowl. The rich orange broth was brimming with large chunks of glistening honeycomb tripe. I Waac also thrilled to encounter chunks of cartilaginous knuckle bones, and a medley or recognizable and non recognizable fruits and vegetables. First, the broth. It was rich with Umami suggesting hours of boiling down pigs feet and knuckle bones. It had a tomato background, but also tasted of pumpkin, and even roasted pumpkinseeds. There was a hint of masa harina reminiscent of tamales. I couldn't identify the other flavors, maybe star anise or allspice. There were big chunks of yuccaa, and plantain slices skin and all. There was some green, maybe chayote. But the Honeycomb Tripe. The three times washed washed cow's stomach was soft and soothing. For the FIRST TIME EVER, I enjoyed a bowl of stomach without any odor or flavor of offal. I keep trying without success to replicate that recipe. Fortunately we have another soccer tournament in two weeks. I'll be back. Jim L
