"Tacos are like a hug in a tortilla." We were in the mood for tacos and Gringos and Mariachas seemed like a great choice. I have had 2 successful and delicious 5 star meals at this location. Both times prior to this time, we ate inside the restaurant. Unfortunately, take out orders don't seem to get the same care and attention. First, let me say the food was very good. But, my order had issues as soon as I arrived. We asked for the spicy sauce to be taken off our fish tacos. Luckily, the hostess who took the order noticed right away, that it was made incorrectly. So, it had to be redone. We asked for pico de gayo to replace the sauce and the fish tacos were drowned in the pico. It should have been placed on the side. We were charged $1 for every salsa sauce we ordered. When you eat in the restaurant it is given freely. The chips were served cold. When, I called and asked about it, I was told these were changes that had been made last month. We enjoyed the carne asada tacos with the avocado crema. They were delicious. My grandkids loved the Spanish rice. We also really liked the tacos Al pastor. The pork and pineapple are a tasty and flavorful combination. These were great. So, was it a total loss? No, not at all..we enjoyed a lot of the meal, but when you are paying $80 for a take out dinner, you want that attention to detail that you receive when dining at the restaurant. I will definitely be back, but I will be eating inside the restaurant. That, way, I can get my margarita too. read more

It's all about the patio and the service at this hip tex-mex concept in Potomac. Stopped in for lunch last Saturday and had a great experience. Our server was super friendly and attentive. I love their patio! It provides good shade and overlooks a pretty courtyard--so you're not eating tons of car exhaust along with your tacos. The food was solid, but not outstanding. My tacos (chicken, cauliflower, grilled fish) were tasty, but small. I'm a big eater, so I needed to eat six to fill me up. My dining companion had the veggie burrito, which she enjoyed. If you're all about food volume for the money, you might be happier elsewhere. I highly recommend this spot as a gathering place for happy hour or to catch up with friends over drinks--especially in the nice weather!!! read more

Came here for lunch yesterday; first time here. Place is super cute, love the art on the walls. My friend had the shrimp fajitas and it looked nicely season, she loved that. I had the birria tacos (corn tortilla), they were great. It was a bit smaller than I'm used to but to be honest this is probably what a lunch portion should be. First time to Margarita Monday at Gringos and Mariachis at Park Potomac. The food is fabulous. We ordered guacamole with chips, kale Caesar salad and chicken and avocado soup. Our entrees included two quesabirria tacos, two carne asada tacos and the chicken chimichanga. All delicious winner choices. Our server Patty was friendly and took excellent care of us. The server was willing to ensure dishes were made according to our dietary needs. I've been to the Bethesda location as well, but prefer this spot since its much more spacious. The decor was spot on, and loved the rustic appeal! My friends absolutely loved the Birria, Honey Glazed Shrimp and the Chicken Tacos. I appreciate how they had other options for vegetarians such as the Chorizo and the Sofritas. Each taco had the right amount of salt and spice; they were so good we ordered more of each kind! While visiting some friends, they brought us here bc we were missing some good Mexican food. It was super cute and in a small downtown ish area. There were 6 of us and we were seated pretty quickly. We went sort of late so maybe that worked in our favor. I had the seasonal mocktail of Cinnamon Apple Fizz, while everyone else had House Margaritas. All you heard was OMG, this is soo good, perfection in a cup from the group! We each had something different, but most ordered the vast variety of different tacos! I personally had the chicken tacos and was super impressed. They were smallish and come in 2s. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, and very juicy. The onions were just the right touch. Honey had the tacos as well, but he had the duck! They have chicken, duck, shrimp, beef, and fish. So many options, but we all really enjoyed the food. It was the perfect spot for a late dinner but also intimate enough to make it a great spot for a first date, or after work margs. I wish we had one in Texas! It was so so good. Everything was reasonably priced. We ended the evening with cocoa tres leches to have once we got settled in for the night. Perfect place!!! Great job! I wish I would have caught our servers name! In some cases this is as much as a 40% discounts which is pretty substantial. The experience was honestly nothing to write home about.
