Chicken burrito bowl
Xavier I.

Thursday 1/25/2024 I've always had this Mexican restaurant in high regards ever since I intially tried this place back in 2020 but that has changed based on my most recent visit in 2024. In the past, I've had a chicken burrito bowl, ranchero wings, and brownie but this time I got a chicken burrito (with yellow rice, black beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato salsa, sour cream) $11.50 and a steak quesadilla $13.95. The prices continue to increase and it's not for the better. The burrito was decent but your much better off getting a bowl with a tortilla on side so you can get more food for the cost. The steak quesadilla was alright but was overpriced for what you get in my opinion. The ranchero wings are solid but they can be overcooked and burnt at times. The brownie was a regular basic brownie, nothing special. Overall, the restaurant is still solid for the most part but it's not as good as i remember and I would rather go to a few other spots first if I want Mexican food.

I came here on a quiet Monday evening and there were a few families eating. I didn't have to wait for the lady to take my order. Everything was cooked promptly and I waited maybe a total of 10 minutes. I used to come here almost 8 years ago and it's still as good as I remembered it to be. I believe it's a family owned restaurant. The older lady will roll your burrito into a burrito no matter how stuffed it is. She's the real MVP. I gave this place 4 stars for two reasons. For the ranchero wings, they asked how spicy I wanted it. I asked for not too spicy, just mild. When I got home, they were just plain grilled wings. Also, they never came with the ranch side which might have elevated my plain wings a bit. I really wanted to love them but I didn't.

Jazmin cuisine has become my favorite tex mex spot in the area, you can't go wrong with any of their options. You can build your own burrito with fresh ingredients and generous portions. Each bite is packed with flavor!

Asked if they could add jalapeños and fajita onions and peppers to my quesadilla. OMG delicioso so good.

Wings, a little burned for my liking

With taco bar down the street, it took a little convincing to get David to drive 15 mins to try Jazmin Cuisine (and I think we have differing opinions), but it was well worth it to me! It was sort of chipotle style, because we got to choose what we wanted in our steak burrito and carnitas burrito bowl. Steak burrito - the pictures of this were just too mouth watering not too order. THE BURRITO IS HUGE. The girl definitely struggled to wrap it up. Get the yellow rice because it has more flavor for sure. A very straightforward, filling, delicious burrito. Carnitas burrito bowl - didn't see it on the Yelp online menu, but it's there when you go in person, underneath the burritos. I thought mine had too much lettuce and raw onion personally, but again, it was LOADED. She gave me so much carnitas so I couldn't complain. I should have gotten the yellow rice, have to get that next time. Wings - a little more burned than I would have liked (see photo) and probably won't get again. Nothing really that much more special than wings you'd get at papa johns as a side or something. Overall, it wasn't quite a 5 but I rounded up for the sheer amount of food they gave us and we were both happy campers! PS shoutout to the guy we saw get chipotle mayo and made us ask for it on the side - GREAT call :)

Steak Enchilada

I've lived in MOCO for a while, but never knew Jazmin Cuisine existed! Ordered steak enchiladas for takeout. I appreciated the fact that they did not skimp on the meat and packed my to-go box to the top. Loved my enchilada. The steak was so juicy and flavorful and went perfectly with the sour cream, guacamole, and Pico de Gallo. The rice and beans were a bit bland though. This place deserves more attention. Will definitely be coming back for my Tex-Mex fix.

Menu. The usual tex-mex menu. Easy to order.

Food and the service are excellent ! Go to place for TexMex. Their ranchero wings and breakfast burritos are a must try.

Overpriced in my opinion I could go to cafe Rio & get the same thing. It's not bad just overrated.

The food is outstanding. The chicken nachos and chicken quesadilla are my go to. Definitely a place to add to your restaurant rotation.

I was so chilly that I ended up ordering a hot chocolate yes at Guapo's when I really should have been drinking margaritas lol. The birria tacos were incredible and that hot chocolate was one of the best I have ever had. The customer service was excellent too, fast, attentive and friendly. Even with the cold spot, the food and service made it a great visit.

Push back on rushed service. Expect to be approached quickly and pushed until you order and left alone after your food arrives until you feel compelled to ask for a check and leave. Do not sit outside if you have babies/kids if you want your table to be large enough to fit your meal/drinks. -- Starting with the food, it's pretty good overall. Beans/rice come standard on a lot of options. They have a lot of creative appetizers. The guapomole and guacaviche are both worth trying. Might be a tad pricey for the portions and quality but nothing unreasonable. Burritos are a little on the small side for my expectations. During days when Rio is busy and dinner hours this place is so exceptionally busy so expect it to be loud. Everyone and their cousin has their birthday here and the wait staff are seemingly constantly singing and banging on instruments some days. The wait staff are exceptional for this type of restaurant- the reason why is likely due to so many experienced wait staff working here. And here's where we arrive at my issues with Guapo's and where it goes from a borderline 5* to a rapidly dropping 3*: Guapo's prioritizes turning tables over customer experience. And it RUINS the experience. The staff rush you to order, if you order dinner/appetizer there's a very good chance you'll be two bites into an app when your dinner arrives. Their tables are too small and too tightly packed- especially in the outside area. You can't really fit two meals, drinks, and an app on these tables for 4. Guapo's is a high volume money printer and it's become so bad I prefer looking at other options lately.

The 1800 margarita. Ive gotta explain how to make a margarita. It's shaken, not stirred and salt the rim. I learned from last time. As soon as I day down I was ready to order. But no chips and salsa. They have a nice private back room for private events or their comedy shows. The main restaurant has a nice bar area and TV's for football or whatever sport. I always got the same thing, the enchiladas. Food is solid. Prices are reasonable here, which was a nice change in the 2020's. What I realized in 2024 was the enchiladas and plates are kind of on the smaller side. When I think of sit-down Mexican restaurants, I think of hearty meals, but this wasn't so hearty. I was hungry several hours later that night in 2024. In January 2025, I was here for a friend's birthday party and remembered that the portions are smaller than typical Mexican restaurants, so I added a bean pupusa to my enchilada plate, which was excellent, even better than the enchiladas, which are solid. It was a little chaotic with the number of people there, and the awkward table setup. It would've been better having that backroom, but there was a comedy show or something happening that night in there, so we made do with the long high tables put together in the middle of the restaurant. Service has always been good here overall in terms of friendliness, but a couple of times when things ran a bit slow. Also, beer pitchers were cheap too. I remember the couple of events where people split including at the January 2025, my friend's brother & his wife split beer with me. Overall, it's a good local business in the area. In spite of a few flaws, mostly good & would return again in the future.
