Usually Yellow Cab (818) 242-3131 is usually very fast and efficient. Today, I got a text that my flight was cancelled and I wanted to try to catch an earlier flight. I immediately called Yellow Cab and they said it would be 5-15 minutes. The cans usually wait at a hotel 1 mile from my home, so they usually come quickly. After. 20 minutes, it still hadn't arrived, so I called back. Apparently, there was a "computer glitch" and my request hadn't gone through. She sent the request again and about 10 minutes later a cab showed up. This driver could barely get out of the vehicle and almost shut my arm in the trunk when I tried to put my bag in. His vehicle was filthy, with an empty soda can in the back and empty food containers in the front, with spilled rice all I between the front seats. Once near the Burbank airport, he drove past the entrance on Empire! Then he drove past the left turn to get onto Hollywood way. When I stopped him, instead of turning onto Hollywood Way after making a u-turn, he kept going back to the original Empire entrance! Extra $2 gone, just like that. I was still trying to make the earlier flight, so I didn't get his name or cab number. After this, and the fact that I could have easily made the earlier flight had they sent a cab the first time, I will be taking Uber or Lyft from here on out. read more

Cab which arrived 20 minutes late was an old sedan and not in great condition. It already had 2 passengers in the back seat. My husband took the front seat and I squeezed into the back seat. Ride was not comfortable as there was practically no room to breathe. I asked driver what the fare would be with 4 people sharing as there was NO meter in "the cab", he advised that it would be $35 per couple or $70 total which was at least twice the metered rate from Redondo Beach to the airport. I objected but to no avail. In fact, I was blamed bythe driver for him missing the first left turn inside the airport which lengthened the trip as I was trying to discuss the fare issue again. read more

Called the dispatch for a scheduled pick up. I gave the operator my address she was unable to find my apartment so I gave her the address of my job location, again she couldn't find it told me I was wrong. So I looked it up online via Google maps I had the right address she finally find a it and says I can't schedule it because it's a business and that I have to be going to the airport or be an employee. I told her o was an employee and I was just off duty at that point I just decided to walk. I found this company to be unorganized and it's really sad because I try to support city cabs. read more

Pre booked taxi for airport and was told an approximate fee. Driver arrives at 330 am at local airport hotel and stated its a flat fee of $19.00 at more than double the stated rate when booked. Had to ask multiple times to turn meter on. Arrived at airport with meter on and reading $9.82 driver had stated $19.00. Unbelievable to be held hostage at 330 am by a driver. Called 818-808-1000 and ask for supervisor and the agent refuse to transfer. It took multiple requests to get to a supervisor to report incident. Beware!! read more

I use LA Yellow Cab about twice a week and have done for the past 2.5 years. If you book in advance using their online tool or various apps, they are always on time, which is the thing that matters most. I use the TaxiMagic phone app or creditcards all the time. I called Yellow Cab the day before my early flight out of Burbank to schedule a pickup to get me to the airport. Five minutes after the cab should have arrived I called them to see what the status was. Some lady told me I would have to wait for the next available cab, and she was unable to even give me an estimation of the wait time. I'm now paying for ten days of airport parking thanks to Yellow Cab. If you reimburse me the difference of parking vs trips to and from Bob Hope you may have my service again, but I doubt that will ever happen.... read more

I had the worst taxi ride from LAX home to Marina Del Rey. Cab number 6335. He drove like a maniac, honking, yelling and cursing at other drivers. And he was incredibly rude when I tried to explain which way to get to my house. And then berated me for asking about the additional $4 they charge on top of the regular rate. As soon as Uber is available to pick up at LAX I will do that rather than another awful ride by LA Yellow Cab. I would suggest even taking a hotel shuttle and then getting an Uber from there. And when I called to complain I was given a false complaint number that turned out to be someone's personal number! Terrible company! I am going to also complain to the Better Business Bureau. I was in LA for business and needed a cab for the airport. I tried several other cab companies, with no luck. Once I called LA Yellow Cab, they had a driver (Ahmad, #1479) there in minutes and he got me to the airport quickly. He was very courteous during the trip. I left my phone in the cab, and, after I called the company, they shipped me my phone immediately. Ahmad had even called my boss to let him know my phone had been found. I set up a 5:30 pick. They call at 5:33 saying the guy wiill be downstairs. It takes me 4 minutes to get outside. At 5:37 I see the guy driving off. I used Yellow Cab Co 3 times in the past 2 months. The first experience was AMAZING. The guy arrived 15 minutes early. Was very nice and got me to work in a timely manner. The second time the taxi never showed up on time so I had to call the company AGAIN and they transferred me to a lady with HORRIBLE phone etiquette/professional skills. She sounded as if SHE was the one who should be annoyed at me for calling them again. But the Taxi driver came in 15 minutes and was nice and rushed me to work in the streets I told him to drive to get me to work faster and he did not LOLLYGAG around like some taxi drivers do to get more money. He understood my urgency and I had my lowest fare yet.... But the reason I'm giving ONE STAR and will NEVER use Yellow Cab Co. again unless my life or career depended on it is because of the last time I used it weeks ago and am using another taxi service now to get to work... The last time I used Yellow Cab Co. #1 They showed up almost ONE HOUR late and I barely made it to work on time with less than a minute to spare because I RAN. They were late because I had to call them SEVERAL TIMES to pick me up because they weren't showing up. I called them an hour before and gave them a set time for them to be ready to pick me up. NEVER showed up. I got desperate and paged for another taxi and my who was far away started helping me to get a taxi. Eventually an operator called to tell me he was sorry, but the taxi would show up in 20-25 minutes. WHAT?! He was the ONLY nice one and asked if I still wanted it. My only way to get to work so I said YES. SO... The driver shows up and immediately chastises ME, "HOW MANY TAXIS DID YOU CALL FOR?!" Wow. Professional much? I brushed him off and said, "I'm really running late and I need to get to work." I told him where to go to get me to work. I told him to use a certain street to get me there faster and he said, "That street doesn't go through." I said it does, I've taken it before. The taxi before HIM took me there. He brushed me off and bypassed the street and took a longer route. WOOOOOW. Seriously? I don't know MY way to MY work? He asked me my name 3 minutes into the ride and was talking to his friend in his language. I honestly think he was complaining about me. If he was on time and courteous even though I was late, I would've not thought much. But, COME ON. Why the heck was he mad at me when I'm the customer and it's YOUR COMPANY showing up late? I actually took LA Yellow cab from the airport to my place in Santa Monica and left a very expensive bag of jewelry in the cab. I didn't even notice it was missing for 3 days. Kia who I believe may be one of the owners, went above and beyond to get this bag back to me. They did some extensive detective work to find out who it may belong to and tracked me down through facebook. What an amazingly honest group of people. My cab driver was a young muslim man from Tunisia. God Bless him. I can only praise this company for getting these back to me. read more

I will never ever use Yellow Cab again as they botched my pickup and caused me strees when I had a plane to catch. Reserved a pickup night before for 6:30 am ride to LAX. At 6:30, no taxi, even after 2 calls that went unanswered. So 15 minutes later contacted UBER and 5 minutes after was boarding my ride when Yellow Cab calls to apologize. No driver available until 38 minutes later! No wonder this business is going down. read more

Don't even think about it. Incompetence, lies and failure. I went online at 10pm to book a car to the airport for the morning. I called at 10.30pm to confirm because the online booking system didn't allow me to specify that I needed a large vehicle due to 4 people and luggage. I spoke to their dispatch and confirmed my needs. Next morning, nothing.. no cab no call. I called them - they said "Oh we couldn't get a van". That's it, no reason, no sense that they had hours to get it right and still screwed up. Then they said "oh, we just got a van clear at LAX, it can be with you in 20 minutes". I live in Malibu. LAX to Malibu in a NASCAR might be 20 minutes but not on the 405 with an old Chrysler minivan - so that was a lie. This wasn't a difficult request to get right but if you screw up, take the hit, tell the customer immediately and offer to make amends somehow but don't lie. Never use their service! I filed a police report against the company and the driver I had yesterday after getting picked up at LAX. Uber and Lyft servers were down and I was not able to request a car, so I thought the next best thing was to hop in a cab. DO NOT GET IN THE CAB NUMBER 6201! The driver verbally assaulted me and made me feel so uncomfortable! I opened the car door because he refused to stop the car and kept stating "I was too young for him." Everything was caught on camera the gentleman I spoke with from the company took a report and NEVER called me back. I have just experienced the worst service using the LA Yellow Cab Company @ 424-222-2222 or 213-808-1000. We took a quick 10 minute cab ride home and realized that we left one of our coats in the car. After they left, I called them immediately using the receipt (the cab driver was literary still in view - I could see him down the street but could not flag him down in time). Being less than 1 minute away, it took them over an to return to our home and charged us over $35.00 dollars for our coat. To make things worse, he didn't want to take credit and we were forced to find an ATM. To say the very least - I will never use this taxi service again. Metro Cab is always reliable.
