Well we made it to/from LAX alive and in time. I will say John was communicative and let us know how and where to meet, and let us know when he was on his way and if there were any delays. Otherwise, his driving was a little scary; we were picked up not super early in the morning (between 9-11am), but he looked like he was struggling and swerved 2-3 times to stay in his lane. The van was also pretty filthy on the inside; there were nut shells on the floor and didn't seemed it was cleaned for several weeks. I would not recommend especially if your family has any food or pet allergies. read more

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Curbside Express lost my business, and not only that, I am motivated to write a rare one star review. My first experience with curbside express, while not stellar, wasn't terrible. There were plenty of miscommunications, including four driver changes in the hours before my pick up, as well as as having my pick up and drop off locations switched, so I had to call and confirm my pickup again after so many changes. Everyone I spoke to on the phone or by text was very nice though, so I let it slide. With all of the changes, curbside express told me they were upgrading me to a luxury SUV, at no extra charge. But after the fourth driver change, apparently that went the way of the dodo, as my family and I were picked up in an old creaky Van. The driver was a few minutes late, but very nice, and we got to the airport on time. My second experience with curbside express, however, was too much for me. I was in constant contact with them about my arrival time, and followed all of their instructions to the letter, including texting my driver when I arrived, when I got through customs, when I picked up my luggage, etc. After I picked up my luggage, I received a text saying that my driver had been changed. I was told that another passenger arrived earlier than I did, and they thanked me for my patience while they assigned a new one. I said as long as the driver was there to pick me up I would be fine. But I did express my frustration with having my driver changed so last minute. They assured me he would be there, and when he wasn't, I received repeated texts of "he's on his way," "he'll be right there," and "he will be there in 3-5 minutes" (he wasn't). The new driver was 40 minutes late, parked in an area other than the one I was waiting in, was rude, used racial, slurs, and curse words during the ride, threatened to kill another driver, and generally gave us a very, very unpleasant experience. On the positive side this van was very nice. Nothing else about our experience was. When paying a premium for a service like this one, it had better be a time saver, a luxury experience, or, ideally, both. It was neither, and certainly MUCH worse than having just got a cab or Uber. Not only will I never use curbside express again, I am motivated to spread the word about what a bad experience I had. read more

Some things to note in case it's a dealbreaker for your specific situation! - The customer service line doesn't really feel 24/7. For example, I've called in regard to two different booked trips in the past month and only ever got through to someone once (out of about 6 calls total and one unanswered text). - They tend to switch drivers day of trip due to availability and timing which I can totally understand but if you're someone who gets anxious about switch ups like that - just something to note. - There isn't really a way to modify or cancel a trip reservation easily off their website. You'd have to call but as I've mentioned, it was tough getting in touch. However! The little chat function on the website worked pretty quick and they were responsive at first in helping. Then I got ghosted mid-convo bc I think whoever on the other side thought I was done with my questions/asks. - There is a 5% cancellation fee due to the company's bank? This is regardless of time before trip. There are other reputable car service companies that give full refunds for cancellations as long as it's at least an hour before reserved time. This company is cheaper than the ones I'm thinking of so there is balance there! But can get complicated, if like me, you're booking for business trip which is an expense but hard to expense a cancellation fee on top of a different res elsewhere. But also, I had one experience where there wasn't any issues with pick up other than the driver switch which had us confused momentarily. We got over it fast and was nothing but a hiccup! But again, if you're sensitive about things like that - just something to be aware of so that nobody is surprised. read more

I don't leave negative reviews often, if at all. But Curbside Express charged me a lot of money and failed on its promises, which was really disappointing after someone recommended their services to me for families traveling to the airport. I paid $250 for their large van. This included $40 for 2 car seats, and an extra 20% "same day booking" charge because I called in the morning for an 11pm flight that night. For reference, an Uber black SUV to the airport from my home costs around $80-100 on average, but I needed the car seats for my kids so I was OK with paying more. Btw the transit van is not nice or luxurious in any way - next time I'm just going to order two Uber blacks or call a real car service (and spend less money). Just like a lot of the other reviews here, my driver got switched last minute. He arrived with just one car seat, which I had to install myself - a cheap flimsy booster seat, not really young toddler appropriate. The second car seat I ordered was specifically for infants because I have a 5-month old. The driver claimed to know nothing about this, and then told me to bring my own seat and that he'd just hold it for me for 2 months until we returned from our trip. I don't really blame the driver because he's only getting instructions from Curbside and he's an independent contractor ultimately. I think he gets $100 for the trip and Curbside keeps the rest. I've emailed and called asking for at least my $20 back but no response so far. I don't really expect to get anything from them because this isn't a business that takes responsibility for their customers. But I figured I should take a few minutes and let people know that when you ask for a car seat or two from Curbside, have a backup plan because they don't really care what happens once they take your money. read more

I booked a to and from trip to LAX for our vacation. It was easy to book online and I received a confirmation of our trips the same day. On the day of pick up, there was a delay. When I called the driver, he said something happened to his car and he already ran the issue up the chain. Unfortunately, it did not get to the customer. When I called in, the gentleman said they were dispatching another driver who was about 20mins away. Our replacement driver Abrahim finally arrived. Despite of coming from a long distance, he still serviced us with a smile and friendly attitude. We got to LAX with ample time without a hitch. Our pick up went much smoother. I received Chris's text after we landed at LAX. He provided me with instructions to call once we retrieved our baggage. I asked if we would be able to stop by in n out on the way home since we were starving. He was more than willing to accommodate. Chris was also very friendly and professional. Besides the beginning hiccup, everything else went smoothly. I didn't take any stars off the pick up hiccup since I know life happens. I would recommend at least letting the customer know next time there is a delay. By the time the customer calls to inquire, you're already behind the issue. I booked with Curbside Express for a pickup ride from LAX to home since I wanted to avoid the rideshare/shuttle pickup fiasco I went through on my last trip. I asked for rates from several shuttle/towncar companies on YELP and got a message back from Arthur G. at Cubside. $112 flat rate (one of the cheapest for a private minivan for 4 people), one way from LAX to home which is typically a 40-65 min ride. Pickup was scheduled for a weeknight at 11:30 PM. When my plane landed, I got a text from Turk and he arranged to pick me up at the best spot possible to avoid the traffic at LAX. He actually picked me up right at the appointed time and we were able to time it so that he drove up as I walked out of the terminal. He got us home in about 30 min, which is record time for me in all my years of going to and from LAX. As long as they keep their rates not too much higher than UBER/LYFT I'll gladly use Curbside again. read more

I do not recommend using this service. We specifically requested a car with 2 car seats to take us to to LAX and pick us up from LAX 15 days later for international travel as a family of 4. We prepaid and paid extra for the use of car seats. The company also confirmed the reservation with car seats included. First issue: The car that came to take us to LAX arrived with car seats but they were not installed. We had to help the driver install them in his car. We scheduled pickup with plenty of time prior to our flight so it ended up alright. Second issue: our pickup from the airport was 45 min late, the company switched drivers on us after we landed and the 2nd driver did not respond to our first 3 messages, and arrived with ZERO car seats. We had no choice but to strap the kids into the backseat using the standard seatbelts instead of using 2 forward facing car seats per the law. Our flight did arrive early but we were assured that the driver would be tracking our flight and meet us when we arrived. LAX pickup and drop off is a nightmare no matter what service you use. This rating is based purely on the agreed upon arrangement of transport with car seats and the company failing to meet the agreement. This company may be great for customers who don't need car seats. But that's what we needed and didn't get. read more

Even though I live in Southern CA, there are actually times where I can't find an Uber. Apparently reserving an Uber still doesn't guarantee there will be one available on the day of. That was when I decided to give Curbside Express LAX a try. At 1 am before a 7:30 am scheduled pickup, I received text from the airline that my flight was delayed for 3 hours. I had no hope of changing my pickup time that last minute and in the middle of the night but I decided to both email and try the online chat on their website. To my surprise the chat was not a bot at 1 am and they were able to reschedule my pickup to 10:30 am! So relieved! When I checked my email again, someone also replied to that! Mind blown!!! A couple hours before pickup time, I received email and text about the assigned driver. He texted me en route and arrived 10 minutes early. Overall a great experience. read more

They are refusing to give me a full refund due to a new unannounced policy that all refunds are subject to a 5% service charge. I asked them to waive this fee as I've been a customer for years and they refused and gave me so much attitude about it. They rhetorically asked "You want us to pay the merchant fee your credit card company charges for cancelling the transaction??" I don't care what their relationship is with my credit card company. Every other car service company allows free cancellations at least 24 hours before a reservation (most up to 1 hour before) and no where on my confirmation or receipt does it indicate there is this fee. Took a ride to the airport, which was fine. I wanted to take a return ride, and ended up booking online since I was abroad and couldn't call them directly. I had put in a special request for a rear facing car seat for my 1 year old infant on their website, but received a confirmation email saying that the seat seat would be front facing. I had tried to email john@curbsideexpresslax.com as stated in my invoice for clarification, but received notification that the email doesn't exist. Anyway, to avoid the confusion, I ended up cancelling. I had initially booked with this company because their front webpage advertises "Get full refund for reservations cancelled 24 hours before rides." However, I found out that that you have to call them directly to actually get the refund processed, and that there is a 5 percent merchant fee. I don't really appreciate having to get charged a merchant fee, and that the company didn't even bother trying to put in fine print on their website that there'd be one. It's not entirely clear that one would have to go to "Private Policy" page to try to figure out what your terms and conditions are, as other websites actually has a "Terms & Conditions" page. read more

*EDIT* They did give me a 50% refund after I posted this review. I have used them four times in the past and even previously left a 5-star review, but they have lost my business, sadly. In April 2024, they weren't on time for the return pickup from LAX, and I had to wait a long time for them at LAX. But much worse, in July 2024, they left my wife and 3 of my kids stranded at LAX with zero solution. I booked a transit van with five child car seats for pickup from LAX for myself, my wife, and five kids. Before booking, I confirmed with Curbside Express via webchat that they could accommodate this request. They confidently said they could. When we landed, they sent two cars instead of a transit van, which was not what I booked, but would have been acceptable. But one of the drivers, Adam, was extremely rushed, unprofessional, and rude to us on the phone, saying "this is taking too long" and finally said "I'm leaving" and abandoned us. (I had clearly told Curbside Express LAX via email beforehand what time our flight came in. Our flight was on time - even early - and we came straight to the curb after landing.) Since one of their cars abandoned us, we only had one car that did not have enough child car seats (or just seats for that matter). I took the one car back home with two of our kids, which left my wife and 3 other kids still at LAX. The dispatcher, Rick, only gave a curt apology and told us he would look for another car, and even said he would notify the owner. But nobody ever got back to me, even just to apologize and say they couldn't find a ride for us. I have reached out to the company TWICE via webchat over the past few weeks to ask that they provide at least 50% refund, since they only provided half of the service that I paid for, not to mention causing us so much hassle and stress. Both times, they said they would review and get back to me. (The rep I spoke to last was Justin, I believe.) But I never heard back either time, and as of this writing, I still have not received any refund. They called me 12 minutes before my pick up time saying the driver had a flat tire. They said another vehicle is on the way but no car seat. I have a toddler and a 5 year old!!!!! We just had another great experience with Curbside Express LAX. The drivers are attentive and, most importantly, punctual. On our departure day, our driver arrived within minutes of when I asked them to arrive and our ride to the airport was uneventful. You can't ask for a smoother way to get into vacation-mode; a nice, simple, stress-free ride to the airport. The driver clearly knew his way around LAX. Our arrival was a bit more challenging for the company because it was an early morning pickup. 6:06AM was our original arrival time but we arrived 35 minutes ahead of schedule. Curbside Express LAX not only was on-time, the Driver texted me before we landed because the second I was in the jetway and took my phone off of Airplane Mode to let them know we were early, I already had a text from my driver telling me to let him know once we landed and got our bags because he was waiting. He even knew which gate we were coming out of and just asked for the pole designation. We packed light so we were out of the plane super quick. My phone came off of Airplane mode at 5:40am. We only had carry-ons so we didn't have to wait for baggage claim. I let him know what pole we were standing next to at 5:48am and he was driving up by 5:51. We were in the van, on the road, and out of LAX before 6am. Curbside Express LAX has been great to us and I really can't recommend their drivers enough! June 2022 I booked a trip to LAX and back, and it was a very great experience. - You get connected to a driver 2 hours prior to your appointment. - The driver will help you load and unload your luggage. - You will get dropped off exactly where you need to go. - Price is reasonable. It might be more than taking an Uber/Lyft, but it's more convenient because you don't need to go to specific areas to meet the driver. - Our flight arrived a few minutes early, so we got connected to a new driver who was able to pick us up earlier than planned. With a lot of production equipment. it is hard to travel solo and make it down to the Uber pickup area. While the cost is a little more it's easier to go with Curbside Express. Good communication from the start to the day of pickup and easier to make happen than Uber. Without tip, Uber was $60 and Curbside Express LAX was $105 (and I think I had to book a slightly more expensive car due to my last minute decision)-- SO very easily worth the extra money, especially with my large bags. While people around the airport were complaining about lugging their bags on shuttles to find the rideshare area, I got picked up 10 minutes after I stepped outside. The first time I used this service had a couple hiccups, but I'm pleased to say I'm going to continue being a customer any time I go to LAX. :) read more

I booked a ride earlier this year with Curbside Express LAX and sent the following to the company after my ride. Do not recommend. Simply put, it was the worst ride I've ever had in the U.S. I travel quite often and use a variety of car services, from private reservations to rideshares. The ride last night was worse than any of them. I've listed the reasons below: The car itself reeked of smoke. It was clear that not only was someone smoking in there often, they had likely just smoked in there prior to the ride. We are not smokers and had to sit in a smoke box for the duration of the ride. Even keeping the windows down the entirety of the ride, including the freeway failed to make it breathable. The driver was clearly having difficulty driving. He was drifting into and out of lanes regularly during the drive, with heavy acceleration and braking throughout. At one point he had to swerve to avoid hitting another car. I did not feel safe at any point during the ride. The combination made for a stress-filled drive that gave me a significant headache after the ride. On your website, you state that "Safety is our #1 priority. Rigorous health and cleaning standards round out a best-in-class service." and "Elevate your journey with our fleet of meticulously maintained vehicles that redefine opulence and comfort" None of that was true. The ride was unsafe. There was no cleaning of the car. The car was not meticulously maintained, and there was no opulence or comfort. I had my family in the car, with two young kids that were put in an unsafe situation by using your service. read more

I called the company for a quote on the 17th and provided my exact details for the trip with the time and location. I then called back to book this trip on the 18th and was quoted a higher price. I asked why the quotes did not match and asked if it was because the quotes changed because I called on a different day and the operator said , no! He said the quote was based on the location and time for the pick up and I responded asking again, why did the quote change. This was for a round trip booking and all details were provided, including the additional early morning time. Definitely do not recommend using this service unless you are looking for unreliable drivers. I had a ride booked to LAX for 5am and 5:10am came along and no sign of the driver so I called the dispatcher and they sent me an Uber. I basically paid $100 for a $30 dollar Uber. The owner said he would make it up by providing a complementary ride for a different day. That sounded great until they added a charge for early pickup. I paid the fee and again driver was no where to be found. It left my family and I stranded! Piece of shit service! Didn't even get our money back! I will NEVER use this service again! Their customer service's response on the chat was very quick and helpful. We got a text from our driver 2 hours before landing and we had been communicating since. I put a lot of time and effort into research to find a reliable company for a shared ride for the airport. The last time I traveled to and from LAX I used Prime Time and it was a disaster. I wanted to avoid that and also Uber and Lyft. Wanted to book in advance. So I used Yelp and Google to find companies and get quotes, chose 2-3, made phone calls and eliminated the ones where no one answers the phone. That's not acceptable since you need to be able to reach them at various hours. I did a lot of work and settled for Curbside Express. Jonathan always picked up the phone, he was nice, gave me the best quote, assured me that I would have a ride no matter what. They were very good about communicating via phone, text, e-mail, very important for me. On the way to the airport we had Dave ready to pick us up, he texted, he was on time, very nice and helpful. He was chill about navigating the crazy traffic at LAX, fun to chat with and got us on time at the airport. Nice, clean van, just me and my husband. Great ride. On the way back, they emailed the driver's info, Byron called us before pick up time. We were a tad stranded, waiting for a shuttle inside the airport at American Eagle terminal to to take us to terminal 5. I called him when we were ready to go with luggage and all and told him where we were at, he picked us up fast, was super nice, funny to talk to, got a shrimp and grits recipe from him (I will try it this summer), great, enjoyable ride. Also a clean van, just the 2 of us. Byron got us out of the airport fast and we got home as fast as possible traffic considering and safe. He couldn't be nicer and more pleasant, good vibes only. I was impressed with everyone at Curbside Express. I was a nervous Nelly and they did a great job, glad I found them and picked them. So, if you need a reliable service to take you to any airport in LA area or even give you ride in town for various needs, give them a call. I will for my next airport trip. I used this service for the first time recently, on a trip from the Calabassas area to LAX and back about two weeks apart. The drivers were both great, and the vehicles for our family of 4 were fairly new, roomy and in great condition. I also think the prices were reasonable. So why the 3 star review? Simply, for both our home pick up to get to LAX and on the return trip each driver was 20 minutes late in arriving. I get that unexpected things happen, but with late pick ups 2 of 2 trips I am going to assume this company does not value promptness. I might give them another try because like I said the drivers and vehicles were great, but perhaps next time I'll request a pick up time that's 15 - 20 minutes earlier than I really need to leave. read more
