I did not even call for their cab service, just enquired a day before and gave them my details just in case. I told them CLEARLY, I am not sure of moving and will GIVE a call an hour before if I actually NEED their service. But hey, who was listening? They had to send a cab next day regardless. The dispatcher was very rude when I tried to give her a description of where I was located. When the driver arrived I was not able to answer my phone. He left a nasty message saying that I wasted his time and his gas, but when I called back he didn't answer. I don't think he even made an effort to locate me. He wasted MY time because I waited for him and ended up having to call an alternative taxi company. I will not give this company my business in the future. read more

Awful experience. The driver was doing 70 in a 35 zone whilst concentrating on resetting his cell phone. We were swerving across three lanes (it was 4am so they were empty) and I had to ask him twice to pay attention to the road. When I called the company to complain they were barely interested and didn't offer me any sort of refund. Terrible service that I would not use again. read more

If you need a Taxi, don't call Yellow Cab. I called for a pick-up TWO HOURS ahead of when I needed the taxi to give Yellow Cab PLENTY of notice of my pick-up, thinking this would make it easy for Yellow Cab to be on time. I was wrong. Even with the advance notice, the driver was 40 minutes late. I called back and asked for a supervisor, and they transfered me to a phone that nobody ever picked up. Great job Yellow Cab! read more

Use any service but this one. Every single operator I spoke to sounded like some rude cholo(a) from LA miserable with their lives. First, I called and spoke to a woman who quickly took my request and hung up on me while I was in mid-sentence asking her what time the cab would be there. 25 minutes later, according to my cell phone's time I called the first time, I called again to make sure that they didn't forget. The same girl accused me of calling "not even 10 minutes" ago, which I told her was blatantly false. She hung up on me again. I finally called another cab service and they arrived in 10 minutes. For all I know I'd still be waiting for my taxi if I hadn't called another service. When I called to report the rude driver, the manager said he'd look into it and call me back but never did. If they were accredited by the Better Business Bureau, I'd report them but not surprisingly, they are not! Stay away! read more

Absolutely piggish service. I called to be taken to a restaurant 1.6 miles away which I prefaced on the phone when making the booking. The woman who took my call, Mary, was told this. I went outside at 7pm after the call that my cab was there and it wasn't. I called, only to have the operator screaming on the other line to the cab driver "You're not there! You're not there!". Upon entering the cab, I told the cab driver I needed to use a credit card as unfortunately my boyfriend had my debit card which is my only access to cash. The operators (who were online) including the lovely Mary started barking that it was a 40 dollar minimum for credit card. I pointed out that ALL OTHER YELLOW CABS HAVE CREDIT CARD MACHINES. Mary indicated that this was for my protection as their cab drivers steal clients' credit card details. She said this in front of the cab driver. Dumbfounded I pointed out that this should have been disclosed on the phone. The lovely Mary disagreed vehemently. I pointed out I was stuck. The cab driver, Edwin who was truly a gentleman indicated he would drive me anyway as it was not far away. He was told by the loathsome crew at Malibu Yellow Cab that he would be forced to pay for it from his wages. The total was only $7 but it was absolutely unconscionable. Here is a cab driver contractor trying to please the customer in the interests of preserving the reputation of the business he is working for only to be told by this despicable group of people that this would be from his own hard-earned wages. The next day I called. Reached Mary again which I thought would be helpful. I told her I wanted to make Edwin good for the fare - was there somewhere I could send a check or could she take it off my credit card. She told me that it was his choice to take me and yes it would be deducted from his fare. We argued for a while and I told her that her position was absolutely unacceptable and I would be sure as many people would hear about this as possible. Edwin - if you are reading this thank you for the ride. I only hope that you will find a better job opportunity with a different cab company who treat their employees with the courtesy and respect that they deserve. DON'T USE! I scheduled a pickup appointment for 9:30... Got a text and 2 calls to come outside; I came outside immediately - no cab. I called 15 minutes later and they said that the cab was just around the corner, and to continue to wait... No cab. It's a shame I have to give this company a poor review based on one of their drivers, so do take that into consideration. I grabbed cab #6026 from LAX when returning home with my 2 year old daughter. Traveling alone with a little one, I had my hands full between luggage, a stroller, and her. The driver offered no help. That's actually fine, I don't mind, I can handle things myself, but it would have been the nice thing to do. He then refused to acknowledge us as my two year old whined that there was too much wind in her face as he refused to put his window up. Again, fine - she's a two year old, she doesn't get to dictated, but again it would have been nice. But as we reached our destination and I went to pay with a credit card (as I had told the dispatcher I would because I'm traveling after all and was not flush with cash) he got very, very angry. Telling me his machine didn't work and then walking around slamming all the car doors. He didn't help me out as I struggled with all our bags and stroller. He then got the machine to work and practically chucked my credit card back at me. It was really the rudeness and the anger that got to me - especially in front of my daughter. This man was incredibly rude/angry/disrespectful and I would not choose this company again because of my experience with him. read more

In my opinion, the worst LA cab company. I have had a few good experiences with them, but they're just plan unreliable. I've had them cancel cabs several times without telling me. As someone else said in a review, they don't even call to say they have trouble finding the place, they just decided to not show up and not tell you. With my most recent experience, I had to go to the airport and they were 30 minutes late. They've been 30 minutes late at other points in time as well, although for less important things. Sometimes they showed up in 5-10 minutes, but they've been excessively late far too often for me to recommend them. Lastly, their drivers tend to have terrible, completely incomprehensible English. I've had much better success with Checker Cab. Although to be honest, there's not really a good cab option in LA, which sucks for a city so spread out. read more

I recently had a horrible experience with Yellow Cab and would not recommend them to anyone! I reserved two vans to pick up a group of 8 corporate VIPs at an elite hotel. I confirmed with them THREE times that week and they did not show! It was a horribly embarassing situation and when I called to find out what happened, I was visited by this horribly rude dispatcher who couldn't have cared less. Then, later on in the day, I had the Executive Director of that same company get stood up AGAIN by the Yellow Cab. They were over 30 minutes late even though the dispatcher insisted they were only a quarter of a mile away. He obviously sent the cab on another pickup. DON"T USE THEM! It cost me a lot of pain and aggravation and we had a corporate account with them for over ten years. This did it for me - so I will never use them again. EEK, ME KNOWS NOT! read more

Definitely do not use Yellow Cab Co. On January 4, 2010, I got in Cab #6095 from LAX at 10:47am. I let the driver know before I got in I didn't have cash. He said no problem, started driving, and insisted we go by an ATM. There was no ATM on the way to my office, which meant extra fare. When I told him no, he started yelling & lecturing me that I was causing him to lose business. He was mad and started driving crazy & almost hit 2 cars. Not to mention, he scolded me the entire trip. Was referred by a Santa Monica hotel staff. When they picked me up, I was under the impression that it would be a cab company, I was surprised to see a plain car with no signage. i was a bit hesitant to board this vehicle, but since it was recommended by the hotel, i thought that it might be OK. Scheduled on Saturday afternoon for 4:30 AM pickup for a trip to LAX on Sunday morning. At 4:30 dispatcher called to say will be 8-10 minutes late. At 4:40 I phoned. Dispatch said 8-10 minutes more late. At 4:50 received robo call that taxi had arrived. Called dispatcher. Taxi was at the wrong place...no similarity with address of pickup. Arrived at 4:55. Driver apologetic but still very late. Reservations SHOULD have priority...especially if going to the airport to catch a flight. Online estimator showed $16 to the airport. Actual fare $25.75 with no traffic, no wait time. Purposeful distortion? At 4:30 there was an Uber 7 minutes away. Bad decision to honor the commitment to Yellow. Won't happen again. Hereafter, Uber will be the first choice. read more

I left my phone in the cab and called the company within less than 5 minutes. It is 3 hours later and I am watching my phone in find my phone app goi in circles. I have offered dispatch to pay another fee and everyone is rude and disrespectful and can care less. I can't believe how awful people are read more

this cab company should NOT BE USED. the cab driver left us on the curb after only waiting 3 minutes. they then failed to remedy the problem and send another cab after we called them back. if you ever want to get anywhere on time, do NOT use this company. they are not worth your time or your energy and do not care about getting you to your destination. read more

Beware not to loose anything in that cab, because once you've lost something theres no coming back. No matter how soon you try. We tried 5 mins after the cab left with the cab number, the addresses and the time etc, they said they would call the driver and get back to us, but there was no reverting back. Tried 3 times that night with no success. We called the next morning, the lady was kind enough to actually help and she looked up the drivers name and said she filed the case, but he wasnt on duty at the moment so couldn't be contacted. She told us to speak with the lost and found department on monday (today). We called them and the cab company 4 times today with no luck, And why? because the mailbox for the lost and found department was full and they was no other way. We called the cab company told them it was full and they simply said ok ma'am just try calling them. They are open today. read more

I was supposed to meet up with some friends at a club in WeHo tonight (a little less than a mile from where I live) and figured I would take a cab instead of driving for once. I did a google search for cab companies in WeHo and this was the first that popped up so I called about 15 minutes before I was planning on leaving. First of all, I was on hold for a few minutes then was connected to a not-so-friendly Operator who didn't give me an ETA or anything. I checked in with my friends who were also calling a cab (they used a different company) and they said theirs gave them an ETA of 5 to 10 minutes. 10 minutes goes by and I get the text that my friends are in the cab and on their way to the club. 30 minutes goes by and I decide to call to see if they can tell me when the cab would get here but am once again put on hold for several minutes. Finally when I get through, I am connected to another not-so-friendly Operator who snaps "WE ARE WORKING ON IT" when I ask if she can tell me how much longer it will be. I cancelled the cab and now here I am writing this review on my Saturday night. Thanks a lot LA Yellow Cab! read more

Don't go with this service!!!!! I had a similar experience as as another post where I was going from Marvista to LAX. I booked my cab reservations 3 hours prior to my pick up time. I called 5 minutes after my scheduled time to see where my cab was and they said that there was no cab on the way and that my order wasn't even processed even though I had received an email confirmation! I told them that I had a flight to catch said that I would have to wait 20 minutes for a cab. Since I wasn't in too much of a hurry I waited 15 minutes and called again to check. The person said that the cab had already picked someone else up and they were riding in my cab! The person I was talking to was completely unapologetic. Luckily I have Uber and a driver was available 5 minutes from me. It was also much cheaper too, my Uber only cost 9.00 compared to 30.00 I would have to pay with yellow cab. I definitely won't be continuing with their service. read more

We had a good ride in cab number 6110, a van type, kendel (?) was the driver, has 16 kids, has driven for 15 years. The car was clean, the driver was very nice. Coming back from USC graduation on 5-16-14 he dropped us at the Biltmore Hotel. The charge was 12.95. I paid him 25.00. He closed the door and left. 5 minutes later I realized my purse was in the car that had my cannon camera, my iphone and wallet and creditcards etc. We called the phone 14 times,to make him aware the purse was in the cab. 3 feet from the driver. Called the company. They could not reach him for 3 hours. Continued to call the company got the run around, transfered all over and no one new anything. Company would not give cab driver Id number. I have read good things about the cab company, and like I said at the beginning, the driver was nice, the car was clean. But the drive stole 1200.00, and disappeared for 3 hours. After researching this I have found many items dissappear from cabs. This is not ok folks. We all need to stand together and stop this bad practice. Do not blow it off as "Oh well". For the most part, the drivers are really nice. My bad experiences have been with the operators. They are rude and unfriendly to say the least. I had called for a cab, but was placed on hold for 23 minutes, at that point i had not even been able to order a cab. I disonnected the call and redailed Yello CAB. This time i was able to talk to an operatior after being placed on hold again for another 15 minutes. I explained my fustration but the only replay i received was they were busy. So after being on hold for a total of 38 minutes i still had not been able to order my cab. The operator told me that they would send the next available cab. I asked how long should it take. She said the next available cab. Usually the automated system will take the call after 30 seconds and a cab is normally dispatched within a few minutes. The operator could not and would not help me in anyway. I gave her my email address so that i could find out why the cabs were being help up. She did not reply and i did not get a call out. In total i waited around for about an hour for a cab. The thing that got to me the most, was it was a regular work day on a monday during and it was a 1 oclock. I have received better service on the 4th of July. But in general i am not happy with the operators. The Drivers complain at how they suffer due to the operators not handling the calls and not caring about the drivers or customers. My best experiences have been with the green cab company in manhattan beach, hands down. read more
