Very unprofessional. I booked an appointment for today, got a confirmation and everything then when I got there they were closed. I spent money on an Uber to get here and back for no reason at all. It's been a weeks since the owner Peter has promised a refund for tape-in hair extensions installation and destroying my hair talk extension by bleaching ($500 value) and still I haven't received the money. He is no qualified to perform this tape of service. He also destroyed my property without my consent. Here are the pictures of my extensions the hairdresser took who fixed my color and removed and replayed my extensions. Please do yourself a favor and don't try to save $100 on services by going to salons in suits ( obviously the owners don't have enough clientele to afford renting a space for a private salon). It made so much difference when I went to Jacques Janine Salon in midtown. Peter was coloring and bleaching my hair the same day. At the Jacques Janine salon the told me I have to wait 2 weeks after one single process color and tape extensions installation to apply the highlights. Peter had chances to fix the issue but he only made it worst. Once again I learnt a lesson not to try to safe money when it comes to my looks and health. read more

It pains me to write this review because Peter and Robert were incredibly kind to me throughout my experience. To begin, I had to wait an additional hour to be seen after my appointment time. I had another appointment to attend after my Keratin treatment at LAB and while they did their best to accommodate, I could tell that they did not put the effort into my hair that they could have. I've been getting Keratin treatments done my entire life and after one wash I already noticed that there was little to no difference in my hair after the treatment. I called the salon and left a voicemail two weeks before writing this review (hoping that I could speak to them so that I wouldn't have to do this) but I haven't received a call back. I will NEVER go to LAB for a treatment again as it was clearly poor quality product and service. Not sure how they are with other services but I could not be more disappointed in my experience. read more

I went for my first time to LAB for a cut and color. I'm always nervous about going blond but loved the look in a picture I saw. Peter loved it too and said it would look great on me so I went for it. So glad I did! I feel like a new woman! ABSOLUTE SCAM! I purchased a living social voucher for a keratin. Once I arrived, as they were washing my hair, I was informed there was an additional $30 charge. This, apparently was written in the very fine print. Then, the "keratin treatment" turned out to be a COMPLETE SCAM. My hair barely looked like it had been blown out, much less treated with a keratin product. I have had numerous treatments throughout the years and this was a total waste of time not to mention money. And, as if it could not get worse, when I was leaving, the card swipe "malfunctioned" and they overcharged me $25 (after the shady $30) Peter promised he would refund it back to my card and never did. I followed up the next week and they kept with the same song and dance "it should appear on your account soon". BUYER BEWARE. This salon is run by crooks. read more

I came in for a keratin treatment 1 week ago. The product that was used was different from the other treatments I have had. The smell of thr product wasnt as intense and when i left i could hardly smell the product in my hair. Your hair will still be able to be styled (unlike other treatments that make your hair pin straight). The frizz in my hair has drastically decreased. The cut I received was very good. Very simple, I didn't even have to tell him what to do. Perfect job. read more

Walking in with a dull, frumpy, look, from Philadelphia, I walked out looking blond and beautiful thanks to PETER! When Peter claimed that he knew how to "fix everything", I didn't think that could be possible. But, I was wrong. If there is one thing that I hate it's waiting on hair stylists. Let me start by saying, I made my appointment a day in advance. I arrived ON TIME for my appointment to find that Peter was not there. The only person there told me, "He should be here shortly." I waited 20 MINUTES until I decided that enough was enough, and canceled my appointment. There is absolutely no excuse why he couldn't reach out to me to tell me why he was running late but to not show up is so unprofessional. I wasted 20 minutes of my lunch break for no reason. I'm pretty low maintenance when it come the salon. The last time I had a highlight service was in February. Needless to say it was time for me to refresh my locks. I live in Midtown & try to have my services completed within walking distance. Little did I know, I've been living next to my hair's soul mate. Enzo at Lab Salon is a hair color & cut Genius. My natural color is darker and I usually do a blonde root shadow. Since I don't have my hair done often I like it to grow out with a natural look. The color of my blonde is super important to me as well. I like ashy blonde, no brassy or yellow tones. Enzo gave me the dreamiest ash blonde that melts into my color with a crown of highlights to frame my face . This is the most natural highlight/shaded root I've ever had. I really wanted to keep my length and was SUPER resistant to getting my hair trimmed. It turns out those fears were for nothing. Enzo cut away my dead ends, but left my length. My hair has so much healthy body and movement now. I wish I could give Enzo and lab salon more than 5 stars because this was such a great experience. Listen up ladies, LAB salon in Midtown is without a doubt the best salon I've EVER been to. Aside from the beautiful decor and fabulous location the hairdressers are masters in their art. My heart officially belongs to Peter, he is passionate about his art and his work is magic. For the past 8 years I've had the desire to go blonde, yet I always got the same response from "colorists" my hair is too dark and it would not look good on my complexion.
