I have followed Gay around for 12+ years and would continue to do so, but she finally opened her own salon. I feel like a celebrity when I leave (my hair looks that good.) She is a cut and color pro and gives the best blowouts. She will sit down with you and come up with your perfect custom color. She and her partner Jimmy are always up on the latest trends and a pleasure to spend time with. My hair practically fixes itself for weeks after I leave. I've been following Jimmy around town for the past 7 years. He did my hair for all of my proms, formals, weddings - the works. Jimmy studies your unique hair texture and works around it, instead of trying to force your hair into a shape that just won't work or flatter your features. I have particularly tricky hair: very thick, straight on the top half with a nice wave in the middle, and very kinky, gnarly, dull, terrible, split hair on the bottom. I've been complaining about it for years, and one day Jimmy approached me with an idea: do a 1/2 head of Keratin on the bottom portion of my hair, only ironing it a few times to soften the curls and "match" the top texture. Then, he used an infusion/gloss treatment on the top half of my head to give the wavy hair (which tends to be dry) a very nice shine. I was a bit nervous at first - to me the word "keratin" implies straight, slick, limp hair that just wasn't my style. The result? Shiny, thick, soft, yet still perfectly WAVY hair with a consistent texture to it. I received compliments galore from friends. They knew something was different but couldn't quite figure out what it was. To sum it up, Jimmy helped me with my hair woes while still making sure I still looked like myself. And, though it wasn't technically part of the appointment (a 3 hour process), Jimmy was also kind enough to snip away the dead parts of my ends and do a little reshaping on my layers. A pure stroke of genius, at an extremely reasonable price. I'm severely overdue for a freshening up of the treatment and I can't wait to make my next appointment with Jimmy at Rinse Studio. read more

Great haircut, reasonable prices, on time, clean and plenty of parking! All of that makes it an A in my book. The studio is on the second floor of the building. Gay was super friendly and the right amount of chatty for a hairdresser. She did a great job on my hair in May and I am going back in two weeks! If you live in Miami Shores, MiMo, Upper East Side, etc....she is definitely worth checking out. It was a breathe of fresh air to find Jim and Rise in Miami! After a year of horrible cuts and terrible color, I was so glad to find him! Rinse is a studio where the Stylists rent out chairs. I go to Rinse because because of Nikki. I actually followed Nikki to rinse from her previous location. Nikki is fantastic. I just started going to Gay Glass recently after seeing one of her client's hair and falling in love with it! I have been in Miami 16 years after moving here from Ohio. I have naturally dark hair but have been blond for the past 25 years. When I came to Miami, everyone wanted to do the base color (which always turns orange) and then do highlights. Gay is fabulous and does only highlights and lowlights and the end result is awesome ....with no orange! Plus, I would always go to a different stylist for my cut. Now that I go to Gay, she does both color and cut...and I love my hair. She is the best, plus she has a great personality and makes the visit fun. She is a real gift and is very talented! read more

James Wilson, one of the studio owners, has been styling my hair with expert blonde highlights and original lowlight looks - delivering a classy yet fresh flair for my hair - for many years. My hair gets endless compliments on both my long and short looks that James has achieved!! I saw James for color and cut at several salons, but the atmosphere at Rinse is my favorite. I love the relaxed but stylish seating areas - including a great outside seating area. Rinse is a great place to go with a friend and get an expert Miami hair makeover as all the stylists there are great. The stylists deliver the results promised by the priciest of Miami salons, but the service prices are much more appealing at Rinse! Also, Starbucks is across the street and there are some great outdoor eating spots in walking distance that contribute to a fun outing to Rinse.
