Today I visited 7 hair salons and 2 beauty supply stores (yeah, you read this right.. 7!) to find the best place for all my hair care needs. I live in Midtown Miami and I made a list of hair salons near me that work with hair extensions. You see, I'm looking to get clip extensions for the first time and I have many questions re: price for installation, cut, color, etc. It wasn't until I visited L.A.B. salon and met Peter (my new hair guru) who took the time to explain their services. He also specializes in helping people grow their natural hair (which for me has been the same length for years!!) by using a unique haircut technique. He then went to explain the different extensions they offer ( also demonstrated how it's done) and even went online with me to search for the best "clip" extensions (i.e., color, style, length) since they don't sell that type of extension there (FYI: No other stylist did this!). He gave me a great price to cut and install my extensions when they arrive too!! Now aside from the clip extensions, I plan to return for all my future hair care needs (i.e., cut, color, blowouts) because the customer service here is by far the best I have seen all day!! Peter and the rest of the team (including the salon Shitzu who is so quiet and cute! LOL) are very friendly. They care about how you look and the confidence you feel when you step out of the salon. I was so thrilled that I immediately called my sister and she is willing to drive an hour just to meet Peter and get her highlights done! Tonight I feel relieved because although I drove all over Miami to find the best hair salon, I managed to save the best for last. It's so close to my home... I can't wait to come back!! read more

Listen up ladies, LAB salon in Midtown is without a doubt the best salon I've EVER been to. Aside from the beautiful decor and fabulous location the hairdressers are masters in their art. My heart officially belongs to Peter, he is passionate about his art and his work is magic. For the past 8 years I've had the desire to go blonde, yet I always got the same response from "colorists" my hair is too dark and it would not look good on my complexion. That was until Peter got a hold of me. He took on the challenge and turned me out!!! I have never felt so good about my hair or myself. Peter is hands down the master of blondes and color in general. He also gave me a fierce haircut, the movement in my hair is unbeweaveable! He also is the master of extensions, precise color blending and texturizing. I have the tapes and I swim, paddle board, and sweat all the time and these bad boys stay put! Peter is an amazing person he has a heart of gold which is rare to find. When you go to LAB expect not only to walk out looking like a celebrity but also feeling empowered and so loved! We all need a little TLC inside and out. If you're looking for a stylist that is innovative, creative, and extremely attentive, then Lorenzo is the stylist you have been seeking. When I first met Lorenzo, I had hair similar to Moe from "The Three Stooges". I lacked a stylist that was skilled enough to create something from nothing. I had no specifics of how I wanted my hair other than wanting a radical change that is with the latest trends. He took the "bowl" cut and transformed it into a haircut I constantly received compliments on. But then he went one step further. Every time he cut my hair he slowly molded the cut making minor modifications to keep it fresh and new. Eventually, over the course of a few haircuts a new style was gradually born. He'll never leave you with the same cut month in and month out. So if you want a stylist that is skilled enough to bring an idea to fruition while ensuring it looks amazing and very GQ, then Lorenzo is the stylist you want. Robert and Peter are AMAZING!! I first met Robert through a friend who goes to him to get her hair done (her hair always looks fabulous!), and she told me he does makeup, so I made an appointment with him to get it done before a big event, and he did an incredible job. I met Peter a few months later, when I went to visit Robert. I had gone to another hair stylist for a year or two, and I knew my color wasn't that great, but it definitely "passed." Peter took one look at me, and said he could change my hair - and my life - forever! ;)...and he did! He was able to correct the color and gave me the best hair cut of my life! The cuts and color last longer than any hair stylist I've ever gone to (I don't know how he does that!), I've been going to Peter for the past 5 years now, and recommend him to everyone I can. I recently went in to get a complete hair makeover my girlfriends kept pushing me to get after I had my first baby. I didnt think I'd let myself go but it happened. I definitely wont let that happen again. My friend had referred me to check out this hairstylist named Lorenzo at LAB. Wasn't too sure to try out ANOTHER salon. I went in not having an idea what I should get. This was by far the best experience ever. Not only did I get my hair colored, highlighted, cut and conditioned...he taught me and educated me about my own hair. No one has ever taken their time to explain what would fit best to my face shape or given me tips on products I should use while styling at home! It was worth every penny. Im not the type to write out reviews, but this is somewhere I will continue to go to for as long as they're in business! Thanks to Lorenzo and LAB, I walked out of there feeling like a star! I have been going to Peter for six years. He does an amazing job. Before going to Peter no one really got my hair right. When I was 18 I wanted to do my hair red. The person I went to before did it horrible. When I first met Peter and he fixed my hair. He did an amazing job and I loved it. After a year I decided that the red was too much and that I was going to let it grow out and do blonde, and now little by little was the amazing talent of Peter I am getting to the blonde that makes me feel happy and sexy with myself. After trying numerous different Miami hair salons and being disappointed, I am so thrilled I found Peter at Lab Salon! He is the best! He knows how to cut the hair so that it lays naturally without high maintenance. Not only can he cut the hair properly so that it grows nice but he is also able to color the hair to give me that natural blonde look.
