There are 2 sides of the restaurant: the more casual order what you want brasserie side and then the fancier multi-course chef menu side. I chose the brasserie side, where I had a reservation for a bar seat - turns out that wasn't really that necessary as there were several individual bar seats open; A group would probably have a difficult time getting a seat on a Friday evening though. For drinks, I had a paper plane and a last word. Those are my two go to cocktails for nicer bars, and they pulled them off fantastically (they also knew what I was talking about which is kind of rare for the last word). For an extra nice touch, they clipped an actual paper plane to the paper plane drink. Fun! For food, I ordered the Duck Confit. It was super crispy on the outside, but the meat was super tender and juicy and melted off of the bone. My mouth is watering while thinking about it. It also came with bread service. For dessert I had the tiramisu. I would give it a 4/5 - it was a little more bland than others I've had - not bad at all, but not my favorite one of all time. They seem to be serious about their coffee (see pictures). Since I was sitting right in front of it I had to order one to go with the tiramisu. I had a basic americano, and it was a great addition. We started with oysters from PEI and New Brunswick. Loved that they let you choose the units so we only ordered 4 (2 each). We also had as appetizer their foie gras parfait and tomatoes from our garden. Both we wonderful choices. The tomatoes were perfect for the season with a beautiful balance of tomatoes, stracciatella and focaccia. Foie is a classic and loved the grilled bread and pickled vegetables to accompany it. Our entrees were the lamb rump, braised shoulder and butcher cut steak and frites which was the hangar steak. The lamb was delicious and very hearty in a good way. The steak was perfectly prepared and the frites stayed warm the entire meal with their presentation. We ended with their house fav passion fruit pavlova. Light and airy texture with lovely flavor. Nice way to compete the meal!

They have several of them in this place and I have found one of my favourite in Quebec: The Tribale IPA. It has a nice bracing bitterness, a well balanced hoppy flavor, strong but not overpowering, not malty, and with a nice subtle grapefruit taste that is what I usually look in an IPA. They also sell it in a can in their store, so I bought 4 cans and that same night had it taste to another IPA hunter and was very happy with the new discovery.

For me Ma Brasserie is really off the beaten path, but I'm willing to take the road trip as parking around is hugely easy and available. The brewery offers brewing classes in cooperation with Institut Brassicole du Quebec that I may try as something new to learn in 2019!

It's part of a hotel, so you have to enter the hotel to enter the restaurant. It was a little confusing knowing where to go to get seated / if you should just seat yourself; but there was a host that would come to the front door to seat you. Service was quite slow. They didn't seem all that busy as there were maybe 3-4 tables per server. It took a while to be acknowledged, 10+ minutes to get coffee after ordering, and 15-20 minutes for the omelette to finally make its way out. The omelette was evenly cooked and fluffy, but it was a bit bland. The bacon was served on the side, and that is where all of the flavor was for the omelette. I was in a hurry, otherwise I would have requested hot sauce or something to help out the eggs. The coffee wasn't the greatest. I had a lot of seriously good americanos in Montreal, but this one felt watery and almost like it was reheated. Better than nothing first thing in the morning, but there are plenty of other options around with better coffee. I wouldn't be upset to eat here again, but I don't think I would choose it over many of the other great options in the area.

Waiter was very attentive and we could tell he paid attention to detail. He gave great food recommendations and definitely had knowledge of what's on the menu. Now as for how the food and prices were? Prices i'd say are pretty standard and reasonable. The squash soup was so yum and comforting. It had a puree texture to it. Good serving size. I would order it again! We obviously had to have some mimosas and yes we paired it with orange juice. The duck confit may have been a bit too much for me. Large portion and i couldn't even finish half of it. But it wasn't dry and the veggies had a nice crunch and the lentils were very filling and healthy. The flavour notes all went together but i'd definitely say the dish was more on the healthier side. The chicken supreme on the other hand .. although healthy it was still cheesy and buttery. Considering it was chicken breast it didn't even taste dry so i definitely appreciated that. The risotto paired with it was the star of the show!
