Pretty good food but not worth the prices. I'm happy there are no bones in the chicken waffles. The crème caramel wasn't like a typical light sweet crème caramel. Much more creamy and warm (not necessarily better though). The location is adorable, very hipster modern industrial.

I have no idea how this place received such low reviews. The service was AMAZING! I can't comment on that enough, even with covid they really were exceptional. The food was delicious. We had the "Rockefeller" oyster, which are more of a curry oyster (a little on the small side but the flavors are on point). I had the paella, wasn't quite traditional but the spice profile was perfect. My boyfriend had the beef tartare, again delicious, a good aioli + beautiful presentation. Drink wise we had beers (usual good drafts) and I had an espresso martini. The martini tasted like a proper coffee drink (strong espresso drink perfect for dessert) and looked on point. All that to say, I came with low expectations because of the low reviews (that I saw on the way there) and came out utterly perplexed that it could be rated so low!

Visited this spot located in a reconverted firehouse in the Angus shops for lunch with a group of friends on a weekday and the place was packed! They offer an express lunch menu and considering they are one of the few restaurants available to the growing commercial area, I would recommend a reservation. The brasserie itself is very modern with nice lighting, minimal decor, and beautiful brick walls. The food menu is mostly french bistro with a few items, like poke bowl, which is out of character. Their three course lunch special is only at 22$! I went with the angus burger served with fries and salad; the burger was way greasy, so much so, that it soaked through the bun and made it very difficult to eat. The fries were perfect though and I really liked the vinaigrette on the salad mixed green salad although they could have gone lighter with the dressing. My friend ordered the poke bowl which he enjoyed; he asked if they can hold the carrots, to which they said no, so he actually sat there removing one piece of shredded carrot at a time..lol! Overall, the service was okay consider they were swamped and the food is good but not great but I would give this place another shot considering options are limited in the neighbourhood.

While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Service was the main area that didn't quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members who stopped by the table were somewhat brief, and on a few occasions, items like bread or water were dropped off while we tried to ask questions, but the busser had already walked away. That said, the restaurant was quite busy during lunch, so it's possible the pace and attentiveness were impacted by that. As for the food, we ordered the albacore tuna appetizer along with the strip loin, butcher's cut, and duck for our mains. Everything was well-prepared, though the duck portion was noticeably small. Desserts were a highlight - especially the pavlova with maracuya, which was excellent. Our server Laura was professional, though not very engaging until the very end of the meal when we were settling the bill. I would still return, as the food is strong, but I have to say that Bar George left a more lasting impression on us in terms of both food and service.

Got to try some delicious food during my short weekend trip to Montreal Quebec…read more A friend organized a lunch for everyone before we all headed to the airport and funny enough this restaurant was in the hotel my friend and i stayed at. The restaurant was super quiet when we went as it was a Monday afternoon when most people were probably at work. The interior was quite elegant very clean and royalty looking. The service was 10/10. Waiter was very attentive and we could tell he paid attention to detail. He gave great food recommendations and definitely had knowledge of what's on the menu. Now as for how the food and prices were? Prices i'd say are pretty standard and reasonable. The squash soup was so yum and comforting. It had a puree texture to it. Good serving size. I would order it again! We obviously had to have some mimosas and yes we paired it with orange juice. The duck confit may have been a bit too much for me. Large portion and i couldn't even finish half of it. But it wasn't dry and the veggies had a nice crunch and the lentils were very filling and healthy. The flavour notes all went together but i'd definitely say the dish was more on the healthier side. The chicken supreme on the other hand .. although healthy it was still cheesy and buttery. Considering it was chicken breast it didn't even taste dry so i definitely appreciated that. The risotto paired with it was the star of the show! The restaurant takes resos online and they do have brunch on the weekends, happy hour menu looks promising. If i'm ever in town again and in the area i'd want to try their happy hour or chacuterie spread!

(Hotel restaurants, can be good/bad) We were definitely not dressed up which I was worried about but it wasn't an issue, we started with beef carpaccio and charcuterie, the pate was absolutely amazing as were all the cured meats. The beef carpaccio, was for me a little bland, I would have hit it with a touch of salt, but once you got a piece th at had balsamic drizzle it really opened it up and changed my mind. (I wish there was a little more of the balsamic. My husband had the Cornish hen, and I had the filet mignon, both were absolutely amazing, I even stole a little of his Bleu cheese for my steak. Steak was cooked perfectly, the sides were amazing. Our server was on point, his name was Pedro, I had asked him to send out a dessert privately and it was our 1 year anniversary, even though we were not dressed for the occasion as we were both exhausted from travel, We will probably be in for lunch tomorrow!
