He normalized my concerns and always offered solutions to those that he could fix, and referrals to anything that may need outside attention (ie: MRI, therapy, etc). He provided me with reassurance and took a nonjudgmental stance. I really appreciated having such a kind, accessible, and consistent practitioner. I would recommend him to anyone that desires person-centered care.

Meritus is not charging for telemedicine visits but this office charged me $77 for my first visit and $306 for the second. I am currently disputing these charges. I had blood work done at Urgent Care and was told that the results were normal. I told this to the nurse practitioner at this Internal Medicine office, and she used this as the basis to keep telling me that I was fine. She pulled up my record as she was speaking to me, because she knew my age and other details about me, but she never bothered to check the blood panel. I have since discovered that my blood panel had five items outside the normal range. When I was able to see an actual physician in June, she told me that my blood panel indicated inflammation, infection and some level of dehydration. She immediately diagnosed my problem as a cytokine storm. She recommended Ibuprofen and antihistamines to reduce inflammation and my body's immune response. There were additional drugs she could have prescribed if I had seen her earlier, when my symptoms were more severe. There are limitations to telemedicine and it is no substitute for seeing a physician in person. My main issues with my telemedicine sessions are: The nurse practitioner never even looked at my blood panel; She told me to stop drinking electrolytes because I was NOT dehydrated (when I was); She told me to stop taking Ibuprofen (my doctor told me to take it to reduce inflammation); She told me that the symptoms I was experiencing were too far removed from my covid infection to be related (my doctor told me that cytokine storm lasts 2-3 months, and I was in this time frame). She tried to trouble shoot it as a freestanding problem, and prescribed a medication which she said would raise my heart rate and dehydrate me. This was very alarming to me as my heart rate was already elevated and I knew that I was dehydrated. This Internal Medicine office called me and tried to set up an appointment in person with the nurse practitioner who did my telemedicine visits. I said I was not comfortable seeing this CNP and asked if there was a physician I could see. I was told that a nurse practitioner is basically just as good as a physician. I declined to make the appointment at this office and found a physician elsewhere. I never received a bill in the mail for these charges, only noticed them when I logged on to print my records (and I had to contact someone in Meritus' IT Department to create an account to be able to access these records). I was charged around $1000 by Meritus for the Urgent Care visit, lab work, and these two telemedicine sessions. I got basically nothing out of this and had to see a physician anyway. The Billing Department said it may take two weeks to reverse the charges for the telemedicine visits, but I suspect that I am going to have to keep fighting it.

Been having issues with our well water after contractor replaced our acid neutralizer (which had…read morebeen in use since 1987) with a new and larger system. Water testing by the contractor post installation revealed a coliform count of "5", leading us to paying them for a two separate chlorine treatments of our well, and still not getting the coliform below "1" while boiling drinking and cooking water for two months. At this point, the contractor proposed a water softener (the neutralizer raised the hardness a fair amount) AND a UV/Reverse Osmosis filter. Having lost confidence in the contractor, we sought out an independent licensed lab to test our water again. We wanted a lab that didn't want to sell us some very expensive equipment based on their tests. Fredericktowne Labs fit the bill. I took the water samples and delivered them to the Labs. We had two samples, one from water that had not gone through the neutralizer (the "raw" sample) and one of the treated water. They were very helpful, both at the counter and over the phone, They were able to get the tests done rapidly and give us results that we can trust. Both samples showed bacterial counts of less than "1", and were "safe for human consumption and meet all federal, state, and local requirements". We're still trying to figure out what we will do about the water hardness, but at least we know exactly what we are coping with. And, we don't have to boil water any more! The few questions we had were answered clearly with and showed a commitment to customer service that was refreshing. I'm still not sure that I trust the contractor we used, and I urge anybody how is contemplating spending significant money on water treatment to go to an independent lab, and specifically Fredericktowne Labs.

I'll change this when they make it right. Long story short- explicitly told lab n collector in…read moregreat detail to test the well n holding tank at the hose bibb under pressure tank n they tested at the faucet. To make matters worse, after giving them an out hoping the guy had my test mixed up with someone else thinking they may just do it again, they gave me a bunch of nonsense about the faucet is an appropriate place to test. Never will use them again n would advise noone else to. The only way a "Lab" can't make this right is if they send the samples to get tested elsewhere n aren't actually a lab which means they have to pay again for their screwup. I feel like I've been robbed n i'd never perform this kind of a service to any of my customers. I'd feel like a thief.
