    Totaly dysfunctional. One one tech trying to take care of 8 people. So she had to check people in and take samples as well.

Having had some major and very difficult billing issues with LabCorp in the past, I submitted the orders to Quest. I was able to schedule a blood draw within two days of my request and found the Quest Diagnostics facility embedded in the Safeway market in Alexandria, on King Street - very convenient. This was a heavy-duty set of orders - more than a dozen tests. I was able to use Quest's on-line check-in protocol the day before I visited the facility. Upon completing that process online, I printed out the QR code that was issued once I completed the check-in. I arrived about 20 minutes early for my blood draw, and scanned the QR code. Within minutes, actually as soon as I sat down in the waiting room, I was called in for the draw, even though I arrived a few minutes early. The two staff members carefully studied the set of orders, and checked, and then rechecked, that the draw would comply with my doctor's orders. The phlebotomist did a great job drawing my blood, and despite the complexity of the orders, I was out of the facility within 15 minutes. This was a convenient location, and the draw was expertly accomplished. So thanks, very much!

    I've been there twice and both times the experience was great…read more Not just talking about the admin staff, but also the medical professionals. Everybody is friendly, polite, and warm. Also, as soon as the imaging is done with, the on-site doctor looks at the images and verbally communicates results with you. If you are having a post-op, diagnostic, or even screening mammogram/u/s, you know how important that is. You want to know. You don't want to wait for the mail or the phone call. When I got my U/S there, the tech would even talk to me about what she could see and I could ask her questions. Now, I've been to places where the tech is mute and even if asked questions is not allowed to answer. I understand that policy, because I understand that whatever the tech says is not a diagnosis. But, I consider it cruel to be that rigid. I want to know what it is that you are looking at and measuring people...But I digress. Sentara Lorton do not treat you like a patient. customer, empty vessel...they treat you like a human being and one they care about at that. I would also like to comment on the negative review below, if I may...and I hope that is not out of line. I think it is unfair for someone to rate this business low, because of one's health insurance faults.

I came here because my doctor thought I may have a ruptured appendix, and it was either spend a lot of money on an ER visit ($100 copay plus maybe a couple of hundred for a CT scan) or come here just for the CT scan. I chose this option. Except I got the bill in the mail a month later, and it was a whopping $600-and-something. They charged ridiculous amounts for their services, and since insurance covers stuff at 85%, that left me with a huge bill. I would have been better off just going to the ER.
