I needed a floral arrangement for a funeral and my go to florist had retired. I found The Flower Cottage on the funeral homes site and thought I would give them a try. I call on Saturday morning needing this arrangement for the next day. I wasn't expecting much being so last minute. I called the store to ask if I came in right away if they could make something for. I was told yes so I went right away. I was shown a book with several choices but I had done some research and had found a table arrangement I really liked. It had a statue in the center also to have as a keepsake. They had a picture of this one too. I was able to get this and it would make it on time. When I arrived at the visitation I was shocked to see my arrangement. It was absolutely beautiful and exactly as the picture I was shown. Usually the arrangements don't resemble the picture. Often flowers are substituted or colors are not as shown. The flowers were fresh and very nicely done. I could not have been more pleased! When I was in the shop I was also shown other figurine options I could have purchased for this. The ladies were not only accommodating, they took the time to help me be sure I was happy with my selection This is now my go to florist. There are shops closer to my home but I feel that if you get great service and quality it's worth my time. read more

Update: I am appalled by the owner's dishonest and unprofessional response. I have documented evidence that directly contradicts her claims. The "repeated calls" she referenced are inaccurate. My call logs from Mother's Day show I called the shop exactly twice, once to confirm the order and once when it was hours late. For a $100+ delivery, this is reasonable follow-up, not harassment. Regarding today's interaction, after seeing the owner's response to my Google review, I called hoping to have the professional conversation she publicly invited. The call lasted exactly 42 seconds before she began yelling and hung up on me. There was no argumentative tone or abuse on my end, and there was not even enough time for a full sentence. I also find it highly inappropriate and offensive that the owner attempted to publicly attribute 'anxiety' to me. I have never been diagnosed with anxiety by a professional, nor do I have it. Using a baseless claim about a customer's mental health to deflect from a wrong order is a serious overstep and speaks volumes about the business's ethics. The owner, to my knowledge, is a florist; not a psychologist. As for the refund, I never requested one. My concern was receiving the product I paid for. If the refund is being used as justification to avoid accountability, I am willing to return it if that prevents further misrepresentation of the situation. A pattern is also visible in other one-star reviews for this business. When customers raise legitimate concerns, the response tends to focus on attacking their character or claiming they were "yelling" rather than addressing the actual issue with the order. Had the WORST customer service experience ever. Went in with a friend to order prom bouquet. From the moment we walked in it was negative. Should have left then! Definitely regret that we didn't. AND this is the last prom order for the year. No more!!" The post was updated the night before I went in to the shop! But now she was denying the offer. AND acted so put out and annoyed that she was getting business!! After last year with Covid- you think she would be so happy to get the business!!! Needless to say, I left. Absolute WORST experience I have EVER had with a business. Ordered a bouquet for Prom ($85). Picked up and edges of pink roses were brown and curled. Owner offered to make it right by substituting hot pink flowers....which I did not want. They were out of flowers I wanted. Owner was so extremely rude and was busy dealing with 2 other customer complaints in store. At one point she grabbed the flowers out of my hand and yelled, "There. Now your son has no flowers for his date for prom." Finally, as I was leaving with flowers, she snapped "Just take them and your money and leave my store." So I did (as it was almost 3 and all other florists were closed).. A few hours later I received a call from police stating If I did not pay immediately, I would be arrested!!! Paid and asked for money to be take off because flower quality. Owner would not even come to front. Had an employee tell me no. Paid and left. Got another call from police about 20 minutes later saying Patricia would have me arrested if I ever stepped foot in her store again! Extremely rude. After reading through all complaints and reviews on her FB page, she calls police on people often. At some point, when there is THIS MUCH conflict with one person, you have to look at the common denominator. I left a review on FB page only to have her family and friends berate me and call me names......and have police called again!!!! Low quality flowers. Over priced. Rude service. I was looking for an arrangement for my husband's Memorial Service and went to The Flower Cottage and spoke with the owner, Patricia. I showed her some photos I had found on the internet and also a photo and dimensions of the cremation container. Pat asked me questions about my husband and shared some ideas of what she could add to the arrangement that would make it a little more masculine and yet be beautiful. When I left, I felt confident it would be just right. Yesterday when I walked into the church, she had already set it up and it was not only just right, it was perfect. Absolutely Beautiful. As many of you know, planning a wedding is not easy. Its actually quite a scary experience. I first walked into Frankfort cottage and I loved her little store. I sat down with Patricia, and was absolutely taken aback as to how well she knew her flowers. She made me feel important and gave me such a overall great feeling of comfort when she explained how much she values providing beautiful flowers with the best customer service. She said she loves to see everyone's faces when the flowers are delivered, as it gives her a sense of joy to see everyone's happiness. I booked with her right away and had no second thoughts what so ever. I paid my deposit, and she explained that I should call to make a payment three weeks before the wedding. I call three weeks prior to wedding and I am ready to make a payment. Patricia then Proceeds to ask me about the exact times everyone is supposed to arrive at my house, what time to arrive at the hall, and what time the photographer was to going to arrive for pictures. I didn't have this information just yet. As many may understand, usually vendors confirm timelines a week before. Patricia was not happy with this answer and told me that I needed to have all this information as soon as possible, with a rude ass attitude. I said to her "I understand that this information was needed, but I was not aware that this information was due 3 WEEKS before the wedding. Please let me get back to you". I then let her know that I wanted to make a change to the wedding party, as a person unexpectedly decided to drop out. Patricia said and I quote "No, I'm putting you down for 9 groomsmen not 8. No i won't accept an updated number tomorrow, this is your final confirmation phone call. No changes will be made after this". How many weddings have you been in where there were no changes within three weeks? ANYTHING can happen. It's a wedding, you cannot control people's actions, and I should not be held responsible. At least with her attitude, that should have not been expressed in that manner. A week goes by and I attain all the information she needed. I was nervous about calling back because of my previous experience. We confirm everything she asked me, and asks me about the diameter of the flower girls head which she didn't ask me to get on my first confirmation phone call. I tell her that I'll call her back, and that unfortunately my grandmother was not going to make it to the wedding as she is very sick. She says "I can't change your order". I pleaded her to give me a substitute. Perhaps some flowers in the ceremony room? She LAUGHS and says in a bitchy tone "You can't get those flowers for 25 dollars". Why couldn't she recommend something ? I don't work at the flower cottage? Hasn't she been in business for years? How does she not know how to treat people? At this point I'm upset and I regretted making my decision to chose this horrible place. I felt like she put up a front to get my money and gave me the most horrible experience. Everyone of my vendors were a dream. A pleasure to work with. They accommodated all my needs and changes as they UNDERSTAND weddings can be so hard to manage. One my wedding day, She dropped off my flowers without checking with me or notifying me. My mother in law noticed that the flower girls crown didn't fit, even after I confirmed the sizes. Patricia says "well it fit around my head, so it should be fine" and LEAVES. No customer service skills, no care what's so ever. The flowers were beautiful when they arrived. They were absolutely wonderful. However after an hour the flowers starting wilting, and the boutonnières were falling apart before we got to the hall. The most awful part is the fact that I payed a total of $1400 for a pleasant experience and for beautiful flowers that would last more than 2 hours. SEE PICTURES BELOW. I am too afraid to call because I know we will most likely have a confrontation. Patricia, I am shocked and amazed you have managed to fool your customers for so many years of business . You were the ONLY person that made me nervous, that made me worry about my wedding day not being perfect. Maybe this will service you as a lesson to treat brides with more patience, and understand that weddings are not set in stone. If there are changes to be made, it should be your job to figure out what you can do to accommodate your customer. For any brides looking into the Frankfort Cottage, save yourself the hardship and the miserable waste of time she will give you. I wish I had seen a review like this before I booked. We recently ordered flowers for a wake. While our request was unusual, a slot machine, we were assured that it would be a quality piece. Especially since we were quoted $500. We asked for 3 red 7s. Well to say that we were embarrassed by the arrangement is an understatement. The flowers were daisies and mums I think. Definitely not $500 worth! They created 3 flower animals with eyes that sat on top and there was black netting hanging from the bottom. And we didn't even get the 3 red 7s!!! I feel like our grief was taken advantage of!! Their pricing is very reasonable. I was honestly beyond happy with all of my flowers and would highly recommend. Flower cottage in Frankfort will never get my business again. I stopped in to ask, nicely and I mean seriously and genuinely nicely about one of the charges for my flowers for my sister's funeral. She was offended I waited (1 month, because that was the most important thing to ask about after loosing my sister suddenly) and that I dare to question her. Seriously there could have been a mistake, I mean she even told us that was the busiest she had ever been in all her years. Hope she enjoyed that one, because there won't be a second one. The flowers were nice, and I am not really a big flower person, it was the feedback from others about the price being totally outrageous that even made me think to ask. read more

Unfortunately I needed to order flowers for a wake on Labor Day weekend. Everything was closed on Sunday and Monday and the wake was on Tuesday. To make matters worse we are 1500 miles away. The funeral home listed The Flower Cottage as one of the preferred florists, so I checked out the website and also looked at others in the area. The Flower Cottage had a lot of the same arrangements the others did but their prices were much lower. I really wanted something special to go along with my flowers and The Flower Cottage had a wonderful concrete Angel which the grieving family could take home and put in their yard as a remembrance of the angel they have in heaven. I had a relative who attended the wake yesterday who was kind enough to take a picture of the angel and the flower basket. The basket was even better than pictured online and had a lot of unopened Lily's that would make the basket last and look more beautiful as the days go on. In response to Pats comments...I DID NOT request a certain time. I asked if you had an idea on when they were being delivered because I did not know if my daughter would be home after 11:00. Understanding that You did not know I asked to either have your driver call me or if the driver found my daughter not at home to just bring them back to the shop and not leave them on the porch. Your shop did state that you did not want to waste your drivers time since you only charged me 9.95 to deliver the flowers. First I did not haggle a delivery cost....that was what you charged me. Second what is the difference whether the driver leaves flowers on a porch or takes the flowers back to shop if the receivers are not home?? No Hi, Hello, smile anything as I walked in. Phone rings, she answers and you could tell it was a customer calling with some type of complaint. The lady got really loud, rude and acted ignorant over the phone and hung up. Once I saw this and how she treated the person over the phone, I walked out. This is not how you run a business. This is not how you treat or talk to your customers. You are not doing customers a favor with your store, customers are the ones keeping your business running.
