Found it a bit difficult to locate the pool as it's inside a school but once there it was fine. It's very clean inside the locker rooms and in the pool area. So far have had a good experience. read more

Lovely small city pool, clean and well kept. Because it's also the school pool, locker rooms are big and showers, bathrooms well maintained. I was the only lap swimmer on a weekend afternoon, great for a slowpoke. Check the downloadable schedule and website for hours - they vary seasonally. What a great local swimming pool. Their website describes this as a new arrangement between LA Parks and Recreation, and LACES (Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies) High School. Yes, this is the high school the Leonardo DiCaprio attended... Since it's so new, I don't think anyone beyond students from the school, and local residents really know about it. Anyway, a very new swimming pool facility. If you're going to go for lap swimming, check out their schedule. They have a pretty tight swimming class schedule, and they don't really let you swim beyond the actual lap swimming times posted... This is on the pdf attached to their website. If you're going to be going a lot, make sure to buy the 30 days of swimming for $55... , or if you're going to go here and there, take your library card, and it's $2 for each time you go. Honestly, the people working here don't seem to check if you've paid to get in, but I paid since the city is hurting so much for money these days. Cannonball!!! read more

I love this place, since it doesn't get as packed as other places, and it's an indoor pool. But as a latina I feel the responsibility to speak for all other ethnicities when I say the rachet party latino music has to stop. I love my latino music, but that's gotta stay at the Quinceañera or at home for cleaning time. It was muggy in there, and with the loud music I was starting to get a headache! We took our seven-month-old son here yesterday for their open swim time. Overall, it was a decent experience, and we may return. PROS: - The pool was virtually empty; we almost had the whole place to ourselves. - It seems like a pretty clean facility. - The pool is nice and big, and they have one of those awesome high diving boards. CONS: - They don't accept credit cards for payments, only cash - seriously guys? You're a government run program, and it's 2015, not 1915. - The pool itself is a bit too cold to be comfortable, especially for a baby. We could only stay in with him for about 10 minutes before we started to get worried that he was uncomfortable. - The showers in the locker rooms only dispense cold water. You guys need to step it up, for real. read more

I love going to Laces swimming pool. It's inside a school but you have full access in the evenings and weekends. It is a city pool. Very clean, big locker rooms. The pool itself is small but they make it work. The manager is great she comes out of her office to make sure all patrons are doing ok or if they have any questions or comments. The pool is indoor so it's great during winter months. Will keep coming back. read more

Great facility with a horrible schedule. Lap swim late only late at night for 1 hour, no work out classes for adults like they use to have.

A great place to beat the heat :-) Admission rates are fair, Bring Your LIBRARY CARD for a discount. The pool is indoors so you don't have to deal with the glaring sun. Started my son with private lessons in the Spring. We had a great teacher, then summer hit. The teacher was moved to weeknights and we were moved around, with various teachers. My son was treated like a tennis ball. He moved from one teacher to another, no consistency. I voiced this to the manager, she assured me my son would have 1 teacher, of course that was a LIE. Now, they have no availability for my son to take private lessons, even though they took my money, and wrote in his schedule in their private lessons book. A clerk called me this week to inform me they made a mistake, and are understaffed, so we have to take classes wherever they are available. We have now no consistent weeks, 1 week on, 2 weeks off, 1 week we haven't secured. I asked to speak to the manager, and guess what, she is unavailable. I have called everyday, and she hides behind her staff, unable to call me back, or accept my call. I just want my money back so I can go to a facility willing to give my son private lessons and who have a sense of what their jobs consists of. Perhaps, I need to call her Manager, the person over park and recreation to inform them who isn't doing their job, yet collecting a paycheck off our tax dollars. read more

My son took lesson this summer here and did really well. We also was at family night on Fridays which was so much fun. The staff was friendly and caring. We will definitely continue coming. read more

This pool has the WORST hours for lap swim-erratic and severely limited. If you increase your hours for lap swimming more people will come. Don't impose idiotic time-austerity measures because you are too lazy to open your pool to serious swimmers or to figure out how to maximise your profits. Given your facilities you should be garnering a much bigger crowd of lap swimmers than now. read more

I feel obligated to inform you of an unfortunate situation that has occurred at the LACES Pool Swimming Program with one of your Swimming Instructors, Ms. Xochilt Lira. It is evident by the account below that this employee does not have the capabilities of working with children. My two older children have been enrolled in your swimming program for previous sessions which have all been very positive experiences. As is customary, they were again evaluated and placed in an advanced beginner class for the session that just completed this past week. From the beginning there were difficulties with Ms. Lira whose techniques include only verbal explanations, yelling when mistakes are made and threatening remarks. She is not one to physically demonstrate what she requires the students to do and has never been in the water with them . The second week, I asked for tips on how to help my children regulate their breathing while swimming. She answered that she was not there to teach breathing, but swimming and the following week reported to me that if my son did not improve using his legs he would not pass the class. He is 8 years old..In the end of the session no children in Mrs Liira passed the final test. Ingrid Singh read more

yay for public pools! i'm tryna learn how to swim and looking for available indoor pools to practice in. i have no idea how i'd find a pool if there were no public pools (other than joining gyms). only $2! they never check for your library card discount! pool is much cleaner and bigger than the 24hr fitness pool (at least the one on Sunset). it's 3.5 to 4.5 feet for a third of the pool then drops off to 13ft (yikes). it can get a lil busy sometimes but you learn to share. easy and free parking too! read more

Laces swimming center is OK. My kids are in the swim team and I am really grateful to the coaches. Both of them are very kind and push the kids to do their best, with humour and patience. read more
