Avoid this place like the plague. Lets start with parking. Parking is a scam. $50 ticket for parking an hour. No signs warning. What kind of biz charges ppl to pay to shop there?! Inside is desolate. First time at the Lackawanna Plaza Market and it was enjoyable. After passing the indoor storefront businesses, you'll come to a large open area, where you'll see many vendors. There, you'll be able to purchase vintage items, clothing, dishware, and shoes, to make a few. The walkways are wide and every vendor was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. $50 ticket for parking to attend their fleamarket on a Sunday. Used to be free to park on Sunday, no signage anywhere near the front of the building or out spot. A ticket on my windshield would have sufficed, but instead Lackawanna sends it to a scammy third party company so they can send debt collectors on you just for trying to have a nice day out. Terrible business practice. They intentionally are trying to get ticket money by not posting the fees and where to pay, they just scan your car on the way in and out.... worthwhile for them to set that up but not a pay station? The vintage Fleamarket was just things you wore 10 years ago but for quadruple the price mark up. No I don't want a pair of stained bedazzled jeans for three hundred dollars. Did not buy a single thing, poor quality vendors. Building was HOT and the only bathrooms are dirty portapotties. Do not come here, it's not worth the hassle. read more

Got an insane letter in the mail claiming that I fraudulently used the PRRS-run parking lot here and as a result I was being charged $50. I tried to plead my case with the company that I followed the rules but they weren't having it. Will not return to this lot or Lackawanna Plaza as a result, I won't risk another scam ticket and I do not want to support a business with such predatory practices. read more

I've been to Lackawanna Plaza twice for their Montclair Flea Holiday Market. I came here for the second time November 29 on the opening day of their holiday market. I will admit it was hectic in terms of trying to find parking. Both lots near the plaza were all filled and that is paid parking. For the most part around Montclair it is paid street parking and it was very busy opening day of the holiday market. The first time I came to the holiday market which was around December 22 in 2024. I was able to park in the lot with ease so keep that in mind and that was towards the final days of the holiday market. Once I was able to secure parking the inside of the plaza was packed and there were plenty of vendors. I will admit opening day had way more vendors than the first time I came so there were more shopping options. One thing I enjoy about markets like this is the opportunity to buy from small businesses. Not only do you get to purchase from small businesses, but there are many unique items that you might not find in your general name brand stores. Another thing I think Lackawanna needs to work on is signage for the restrooms. Supposedly they had other restrooms available but no one knew where they were so there was a long line for a particular set of restrooms but was told there were others outside but had no clue where they were located. read more

I'd been here once about a year ago (I live out of state) came to pineapple Express for a bday party, whole family in car, went in and came out to a $104 parking ticket... Never saw any signs about the paid parking in my rush .. in fact don't think I've ever entered a parking lot that was paid where it was so inevident from the streets... Wow a plaza has never bummed me out so much. Another one has bounced, Dunkin Donuts has relocated to the building next door, so now there is a pizza place and a Popeyes (and the Pig and Prince at the end of the building). It's sad because I really like the look of the plaza (which I assume is a reapproprited train station) and there is a ton of parking. Just both of the remaining establishments are mostly to go food, so it doesn't need that kind of parking. And there is a lack of parking in this area, but there are a bunch of "don't park here or get towed" signs. Are they bluffing? Probably. The only reason I went in was in case someone was watching I pretended to shop here but man, there is nothing! And I remember just a couple of years ago it was full. I guess once Pathmark died, everything else dominoed. I do hope this plaza gets taken over gain, ideally while still retaining that train station look. I read something about remodeling the plaza and locals complaining about traffic--but seriously, something should be done. This is a great location, right before Bloomfield gets sketchier, so I'd love for someone to reinvigorate the plaza. As of now, it's a bunch of closed stores and a big bummer of traces of better times. Hopefully I can update my review one day. read more

I have lots of memories coming here years ago as a youngster and it being filled with shops including jewelery, Burger King, Toy Store, Path mark and more. Now years after that this place lays barren. There's so much potential here and would love for it to be utilized again, Montclair seems to be growing and growing and it would be a shame for this place to be completely abandoned and rot away. As it is, it's already kind of a historic place being a train station long ago, but the inside continues to be well kept and there is plenty of parking for a potential mini mall. Of course if the spaces fill up that could also mean more jobs for. People. This review is looking at what Lackawanna Plaza was and what it could be, Right now it's just a place to pass through and reminisce about what was or to take a little break and get some lunch since that's all that's in here now and is usually quiet. read more

Bleh. Only a few bleak stores in here -- a beauty supply store, pathmark, dunkin donuts, payless, dots clothing store, popeyes, H&R block, a laundromat, & a few other random spots. There is a parking lot on the premises. As you go further down Bloomfield Ave the area becomes a little more unsettling, but I wouldn't consider this area "unsafe." There are plenty of better places in the area to shop. read more

I can't stand this location. Though I adore the manager, who asks sweetly about son each and every time, even though he says Michael instead of Noel lol I can't stand how the customers take up all the seating for hours. One person will find a way to take up a whole table and I can tell it annoys the manager, who always ( kindly) tells them to please give seating to other customers. I dislike the loud music which has a terrible bass, but I'm not in a concert environment ... Jut makes me want to get in and get out! read more

I love this place. They have great parking and Pathmark and Popeyes. However, they do need to add more premium stores. And do a better job at marketing and maintenance. However, the 5 star is worth giving thanks to the parking alone. Which is a pain to find in the rest of Montclair. read more

You got DOTS which I love to go to for a cute outfit or two (and there is a store for men as well), radio shack, a couple of food spots, Payless which has great shoes for the summer, hair supply store with everything you could ask for (especially for ethnic women), a full grocery store always stocked and more! I usually make this my primary food market. read more
