Both of my kids have gone to this school and I have nothing but great things to say about both the quality of education and the care at Lad n Lassie. I loved both their daycare program and preschool. My daughter attended for 3 years. She's currently excelling in kindergarten, thanks to her preschool education. The Pre-K program she attended with Mrs. Carmen really set her up for success, not just academically but socially as well. Mrs. Carmen was the perfect balance of fun while still teaching her to get along with others and follow rules. The small class sizes and attention to each individual student gave her a strong foundation for elementary school. She learned her colors, shapes, numbers and to read and write the alphabet. She attended year round. During the summer they offer many activities that are all held on site. She had so much fun over the summer. My one year old son currently attends daycare at Lad n Lassie. He's attended since he was 2 months old. Going to work and leaving a baby at day care can bring up such anxiety as a mom. The caretakers in the infant room are so caring and communicative. I know he is in great hands with Ms. Rosie and Ms. Cynthia. They let me know daily about his eating, sleeping and diapers via a chart they give back daily documenting his day. All of the teachers and caretakers use the app classdojo to commuicate, so I can always reach the people caring for my kids. He comes home with the cutest crafts of his hand and footprints. This school has really great programs for infants up to pre-k and I am really happy with the care and education my children received here. read more

Called them to enquire about space for their summer program. They said, they have spots available. Told them my child is special needs and would have his aide be with him for support. They said, thats fine but they will check space and get back to me in a few days. Nobody called back. I called again after a few days and spoke to a gentleman ( I believe Frank). He said, he will pass on the message to the Director and have her call me back (she is the one I had spoken earlier). He did leave me a message that the Director would reach out the following week. Its been close to a month and nobody has called back. Looks like, they are not interested if a child is a special needs kid. The school should have a policy to address / respond to families that have children with special needs. They should have better communication protocols so that families like us can look for other alternatives. read more

My son came to lad n lassie from 6 months to prek and let me tell you that he came out well prepared for Kindergarten at Ocean View Elementary school. In fact, he's ahead of the game. They are a nurturing school, with all female teachers. We never felt nervous about leaving our 6 month old here. It was truly a relief finding a day care that my child could grow through. My sisters brought their kids here and they referred us to lad and lassie. Ms Doris, Mr Frank and Ms Maggie in the office were all very professional and very communicative. Throughout the year, they have events for the kids to participate in. It's really a great place to take your child and I am glad we did. The price we paid was totally fair for what they offer. You really can't beat the quality eduction you get. Your child will be taught how to use the potty at 1.5 yrs old and they request your support at home. If I could give more than 5 stars to Lad N Lassie I would... My two daughters Isabel and Cecelia Jackson attended this daycare/school for many years. Cecelia started in the 2 1/2 year old room in 2018. I was a nervous first time mom who was afraid to put my daughter in daycare. By the end of 2018 I had my second daughter Isabel. The daycare had made my husband and I so comfortable Isabel started in the baby room. I loved getting the reports home on who they did, and the pictures when I was at work. Early learning is a huge priority at this school. When ever I meet anyone who is looking for daycare I say lad n lassie hands down. It hits the huge checklist Price, hours, friendly office staff, teachers who care, potty training, activities, summer program, socializing the kids, nap time, Spanish (my girls still can count, say colors and say hello and thank you). Kindergarten ready!! My husband and I would still send our girls here if they went up to higher grades. Our two girls are the top students in their classes and have both scored extremely high on their state testing, they are extremely articulate and are social butterflies. I can't say enough about Lad n Lassies. My daughter went through their infant, potty training, and now preschool and PreK program. They have made every transition easy for both my daughter and I. Each teacher had an open and consistent line of communication which set my heart at ease. Every one of my daughter's teachers have been amazing and have set her up for success. At first when I enrolled my daughter in the summer of 2023 at the school, I was incredibly impressed by the quality care miss Julia had provided but after a while, I noticed that that was the only person who took the time to truly care for my child in the eight hours that she was left in their care. The administration at the school is ridiculous. I was getting called home to pick up my daughter almost every day. They would say that she was defiant and disrupted towards the other students and prior to enrolling her, I did explain to the staff my daughter needed extra support because she was nonverbal and she had a hard time expressing her emotions they were well aware of this and keep in mind at the time my daughter was only two years old during the time of enrollment so she did not have the vocabulary to communicate her needs, and instead of taking the extra time they would just waste my time to have me go get her . My daughter is at a new school where she is thriving and I have gotten nothing but positive feedback from her teacher to the point where I over question them because of all of the negative feedback I have received from this school. And at the end of the day, all it was gonna take was patient and time with my daughter . She was in a class of six kids at the time and the staff was incapable of watching her now she's in a class of 24 other students at a new school and she's at the top of her class . I definitely think a change of scenery was very much needed because instead of these teachers, looking at my child as a problem and defiant these new teachers look at her as capable of things that this other school made me feel she wasn't capable of. I will even take it as far as sending her to the school hindered her progress but as far as Miss Julia, I think that she was an excellent teacher and she did the best she could with the lack of support she got from everyone else. read more

We are so lucky to have found this daycare facility! We toured several in the area, and surrounding cities, opted to go with this one and happy we did. We highly recommend Lad N Lassie, our kids started at this facility when they were infants. I like that they provide age-appropriate classrooms. Both of my boys go this school and I cant imagine them going anywhere else. One of my favorite things is they have a potty training class and this was such a huge relief for my wife and I because we both work over 60 hours a week so to have them potty train our boys was such a big help!! The staff is incredible!! they are christian based which we thank the lord for!! They have such a big playground area for all the kids and its a legit SCHOOL, compared to day cares where people use their homes to do child care (no offense) lol but the fact that lad n lassie is a full school campus it allows our children to get used to a REAL school aspect so when they get to kindergarten it will be slam dunk transition!! ms. daniella, ms. emily, ms. yolanda, ms. cassie, ms nicole, ms. jojo are amazing along with everyone else! they also have a summer program and they have so many activities for the kids during the summer like water games, water balloons, water slides, reptile day where a profesional reptile person comes to show the kids animals, allll kinds of events just to name a few!! My son attended this school recently and we thought we found him the perfect situation. He was slowly becoming comfortable in a school environment, although he did struggle at times since it was all very new to him. At the beginning of November my wife and I were expecting our 2nd baby in which we shared with the teachers as well as the front office staff. Everyone was very aware that our son would experience some setbacks as his life was going to be changing at home. The week we were in the hospital I tried my very best to accommodate the school knowing my son would be having a hard time with his parents not at home with him. I offered to pick up my son early, as well as ask constantly what I could do to help even though we would be in the hospital. The entire week my son had rough days at school in which the main concern was him running out of the classroom. I apologized everyday and repeatedly asked what I could do to help. No one seemed to have an answer or showed any interest in finding a solution. The day we returned home from the hospital with our newborn (as well as my wife coming out of a C section) the front office lady (Maggie) had informed us that we would need to find a new school. I was absolutely shocked at the fact that there was no attempt by the school to help us find a solution, or have any type of sympathy for our situation. We were not given a meeting or a warning. Instead, a Goodluck you are out of here this week. Having to find my son a new pre school with a 4 day old baby, and a wife right out of surgery wasn't exactly the homecoming we were expecting. We are very disappointed with the owners who had no desire to meet with us and instead had their front office lady deliver the bad news. If you feel your child will need any assistance getting acclimated to a pre school setting this is not the place for you. The student to teacher ratio exceeded the state law and there is no patience for anyone who may experience any struggles. read more

One of the top schools in whittier in my opinion! They take ALL ages from newborn-4 years old. They are open from 6am-6pm! Their staff is AMAZING! Everyone makes you feel like family & I have nothing but peace and confidence knowing my babies are in good hands! I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old currently enrolled and I'm so happy with this school! & one of my favorite aspects is they are faith based and teach nothing but good morals and lessons to the children. I am so happy that my children are going here. I was here when I was little & now my babies are. They have the most loving teachers here it makes me feel so safe leaving my babies here. Being a single mom working a new full time job was so hard for me to leave them anywhere or trust anyone with them. But oh boy do I trust them. My baby boys teacher is ms. Rosario & she is so loving to my son he is attached to her like glue as well that warms my heart. & has taught him so much in such little time. His verbal skills have been amazing his other teachers are amazing as well. You can tell they truly have love for their children. My daughter is in ms. Yolandas & she is the best. I recently read a review that was completely false. My daughter was in the potty training class last summer and EMILY, ADRIANA, NANCY & DANIELA were AMAZING! My daughter loved the room and her teachers. In the beginning she did have a hard time but it's normal since it was her first time but afterwards she was fine and they were always so welcoming, polite, and professional. Not only do they potty train the kids, they do activities and prepare them for preschool. My daughter learned so much being there and everytime she sees them, she gets happy and tells them hi. That reassures me that those young ladies care about the kids. The fact that the review said these teachers are incompetent, inexperienced, & deceiving makes me believe the parent is just angry and lashing out. The review mentioned the teachers caused the mother's depression to worsen but I believe that is her fault for allowing her children to continue going to an environment she did not like. The review also mentioned the children were labeled with behavioral issues and tantrums and if the teachers wanted to ask their therapist for assistance, that exhibits they were concerned & wanted to help. Due to covid I was not allowed in the room, however I was able to take a good look at the room and saw the tables and chairs are sized for toddlers. Therefore, the chairs are small enough for the children to move around, including picking them up. I witnessed my petite daughter helping Ms. Emily one morning and she was in fact able to pick up a chair. Moving forward, the office is great and has always been very warm and welcoming, the school is clean, the teachers I've interacted with have all been kind. read more

My daughter started daycare there at 15 months old and what a difference it has made in her social skills and upbringing. All the teachers are great! They do a great job with the kids, they provide different games/play time that helps them develop socially. Sometimes my daughter does not want to go home! I would definitely recommend this school! I love the staff, classrooms, activities, and location! I love that they have a curriculum for their children that gives them a head start for elementary. They are located in the old Lincoln School which is a historical landmark. I wish I had found this school sooner. My twins have been attending this school since they were 6 months old, FULL TIME. They loved it from day 1 and so have I. Great nurturing teachers, they reach each milestone with the help of the staff. They work with the children each step of the way. My boys were potty trained by age two, in a flash. Was referred by family member and have brought my daughter since 6 months old. Everyone is super nice and carrying. I knew my baby loves the teachers when she would reach for them as we are signing them in (painful but a good feeling she is loved at the daycare). I will definitely send people this way. We travel 30 min from Norwalk to take her here. My daughter started here in Mar 2017. So far, this place has been warm and welcoming. The owners are very down to earth and always smiling. They have a really good energy. The people in the front desk are very nice, i saw a review about the daughter-in-law being "bitchy". Not true!! she is not as smiley and giggly, but she's professional. I can relate, I have the same personality. She doesn't need to be all sunshine and flowers 100% of the time. But she is never mean. The teachers are mostly ok. They have different personalities, some are very warm and motherly, some very stern. That's just how the way it goes. I have very little complaints. They are clean, very much so sometimes that you see Clorox wipes hanging around and kids touching them. 2yr level they send daily reports which is good. the next level 2.5 yrs they dont but the teachers accommodating if you text and ask them. So would I recommend this place? Yes! My daughter has been to other daycares and in comparison, this one is very good. read more
