That was terrible and the worst 'manicure' of my life. The outside is gorgeous architecture but do not be fooled. (I included before photos for reference) I had long, natural, almond shaped nails with UV gel french tips. One nail (left pointer) broke pretty short. Overall, I wanted a tip put on the one that broke, the rest to get trimmed down a little (still almond shape) and change them to clear coat. --I was VERY clear multiple times that this is what I wanted. Here are the list of problems that dont even include the ones that came from the language barrier: -they argued with me that THEY thought I had 'fill' not UV gel -they had me soak my nails/fingers in a plastic bag of what I believe to be acetone (it didnt eat through the bag though) -tech started to dremel off gel and kept walking away without completing a hand at a time -never actually removed all the gel -I told her again the length I wanted, and she cut it down to the length of the BROKEN nail --I immediately said no after the first nail and she GIGGLED *hindsight 20/20, I should have left at this point -she cut the others down to the same length -told me she couldnt do almond because they were so short and told me I could do round --I said yes because what else could I do at this point -she did NOT file them smooth --didnt even touch the nail that I had broken, I was too stunned to notice --at this point I just wanted out -she put the clear coats on and was overly aggressive with manipulating my fingers/hands *at this point I noticed that the tools werent sanitized and they were trading amongst the techs -she pulled one hand out of the light, dumped cuticle oil all over my hand (literally dripping) and walked away to the point that the woman next to me was holding in a laugh Overall, it ended up costing $45 to get the worst nails that are still jagged (im fixing it myself) and might give me an infection??? **if youve read this far youd be interested to know that the woman getting her nails done at the same time was literally crying in pain getting tips because there was a BAD chemical reaction and was burning her. She wanted white nails and the chemical reaction literally turned the pigment yellow. And the tech was saying its normal -dismissing her obvious pain. read more

Worst pedicure experience I've ever had. Despite having appointments, there were major communication issues and the staff seemed confused about the services I requested. The pedicure was extremely basic, took 2 hours, and my toes turned out awful. I also noticed very poor sanitation practices -- gloves were not changed between clients and tools did not appear to be sterilized properly. Overall, very unprofessional and unsanitary. read more

Everyone was super nice and Tracy had great attention to detail while doing my nails! They also got myself and EVERYONE in that came despite it being the end of the day - this was awesome of them due to the fact that they were one of the only places around I could find open on a Sunday. The only negative feedback I can give is that it was not the cleanliest of nail places I have ever been. It saddens me to write this review since the Ladue Nails location near the Galleria was my go-to nail salon for years. However, I got my nails done this past Monday, March 16th and the results have been extremely disappointing. I got a pedicure and a full set of Gel-X. As I write this today, Friday, March 20th, I have lost 3 nails. They have just fallen right off like cheap press-ons. I sit at a desk all day and don't do any heavy lifting or any activity that would cause my nails to fall off. While at the salon, the girl who was initially going to do my nails called in a different guy to do the Gel-X. He did not do them like I've had them done in the past and I asked him about this. He said the way he was doing it was correct. I thought maybe his way could be better, but I should've stuck to my intuition and known that he was doing them incorrectly. He barely held each nail under the light for more than 1-2 seconds which was a major red flag. He also spent majority of the time teaching and demonstrating to 3 other employees how to do Gel-X while doing my nails. I'm really sad because the final result on day one was gorgeous! But there is no excuse for me losing 3 nails in the span of a few days. I spent $150 with tip included so this is unacceptable and frankly inexcusable. Unfortunately, I'm currently out of state and cannot come back to have them fix it. Extremely disappointed. read more

Worst craftsmanship I've ever experienced, but met with pretty good customer service. There is a severe language barrier with some of the techs that results in misunderstandings. The shop is a former mansion and is very nice and updated, but there is a sewer smell. I went back for a revision/repair after receiving the worst set of nails I've ever gotten over 15 years, and brought my bf along for a pedicure. His tech was rude, laughing at his reaction to her being overly rough. The revision/repair was bulky and the acrylic they used lifted and chipped extremely quickly and easily. This location used to be great, but past two times were bad experiences with staff and other customers. Had an appointment but still had to wait 20 minutes. woman was screaming at an employee re: length of her nails and demanding not to pay because nails were too short. The employee assisting me asked me 5+ times what type of service I was getting, my nails have been in bad shape after two days and she messed up a lot, causing time delays. The owner was very nice. There were the most horrendous customers throughout my whole experience who spent time screaming at the owner, painting her own nails, and filing them. He handled this incredibly well. My technician did a poor job, and I was there for nearly 2 hours for a fill. I was moved 3 times to finally end up at a dirty station with nail clippings already on the towel. Got them fixed at my normal salon, and I do not plan on returning for a $60 botched fill. read more

I was really looking forward to having a go-to nail salon in the neighborhood, but was disappointed by the services I received just yesterday. I went in for a dip mani and a pedi, and called to ask if nail art for a dip manicure was possible. I was excited when they said yes, and showed the woman at the front desk the [simple] design I wanted. She said it was doable, quoted a price, but the technician seemed doubtful and advised that she'd try it out on one nail to see if it worked out. Instead, she proceeded to begin a sloppy design job on all ten of my nails (it was meant to be partially dipped in color, but the lines were super wonky, and completely erratic from one hand to the next). I switched course and just went for a solid color instead once I saw the struggle, and watched her try to shortcut her way out of it. My technician was talking on her phone and FaceTiming during various parts of my service as well. All of this is fine and well, and wouldn't have prevented me from coming back, but, even with the simpler services, my nails still look a mess. I started with the pedicure, and was in the salon for three hours, and by the time I got home my toes were marred - I'm not sure if the polish never dried (gel top coat maybe instead of regular?), or what, but I literally got my pedicure yesterday, and in addition to the jacked up polish, it's also starting to chip. For my nails, I asked her to keep them round, and she ended up filing the tops of most of them flat. I had one slightly shorter nail that I asked if it would look a hot mess (I'd planned to get a tip on it if I needed to), tech said no and then proceeded to file it into a wonky slanted square shape. On my left hand, I have a rounded ring finger, a square middle, and a square with rounded corners on my pointer. When we gave up on the nail design, she roughly filed some of the polish off, then proceeded to paint over it. There are ridges under the dip, and patches of the old color on the underside of my nail. I'm especially disappointed because this was meant to be my treat mani pedi to get me through two weeks on an island, and now I have to stare at my hot mess nails (at $90) for the next two weeks since I won't have the chance while I'm away to get them redone. Ugh. UPDATE: Owner reached out on Yelp and told me to reach out so I could come get the botch job done the first time repaired. I went in (the owner wasn't there that day), and let them know the deal. A man started redoing my dip. Once he'd removed the old polish, he told me that my *NATURAL NAILS* were "too thick" and proceeded to drill down MY nails until they were paper thin. I asked him not to, and he proceeded anyway, and paused between hands to tell him that I didn't want the natural nails on my other hand thinned out. I've gotten maybe 15-20 dip manicures (and countless amounts of gel), so I understand the nail needs to be buffed well to help with adhesion, but this was literally him just taking off layers and layers of my actual nail. So, a different person came to finish the job. She was rude, and told me that my toe polish chipping was my fault (first: because I got regular polish instead of dip powder! Then, because of the shape of my toenails? Idk). So, it was a lovely time. I was just ready to get out when it was all done, and went to the counter to tip and close out. In spite of being TOLD to come in *by the owner* to REPAIR the original mess of my nails, I was charged full price. When I asked about it, I was given a $5 discount. The owner has since ignored my "hey...was there a misunderstanding?" messages, so I basically just got swindled into paying them to eff up my nails (and berate me) all over again. Two days later, two nails have chipped, and two have cracked (three of the four damaged nails are in the thinned out side). I'm also hurt because the nails I'd been working to grow for months are likely now going to break, and I'll have to start over. STAY FAR AWAY. read more

I was lucky that the man who i got was so great, so professional, kind and talented at his work. My nails look great, even perfect. They were short but he made them look glorious. My college friends warned me about this place but I really wanted to get my nails done and didn't think that dip nails could be messed up!!! I was so wrong. 1) first of all I asked for (AND was charged for ROUNDED TIPS) my nails tips are NOT rounded!!!! They're not only pointy and uneven but some of them are just downright diagonal on the sides. 2) omg the time it took to do a basic dip nail. It took TWO HOURS!!! Usually dip takes one hour tops. I've had designs on my nails done before and it's taken about an hour and a half ago back at my home salon. Especially for the horrible shape two hours was a waste of my time. 3) There was a dent in my nail and when I asked for it to be fixed I had to ARGUE with the technician to fix it. She said it was "my nail's fault" and that I (!!!) "dipped it wrong." My friend who was with me can attest that the technician had full control of my fingers and it wasn't on me for the "dipping mistake." 4) the overall vibe of the place was pretty the interior was nice but the towel that was used for my hands was unclean and I hope it was red nail polish on there and not blood but (it looked like blood.) was on the towel. Not only is that completely unsanitary I'm pretty sure that's a violation of a health code. EDIT (literally five minutes later) A lot of my friends have gone there and since posting about my experience not only am I out $55 but Ladue Nails is out of a lot of potential customers. College girls should definitely be a target market as it's close to both SLU and WASHU and having our nails done is something we like to have. This place has unimpressed all of us. My three other friends who were at Ladue two days earlier complained about the nails and my friend who I went with showed me that the technician cut her and filed down her nails to almost nothing. I told him 3 times I wanted tips with a dip manicure... when he skipped the tips I reminded him, then he very vocally and clearly bad mouthed me to his coworker. A friend of mine was uncomfortable. Man idk what's going on with Ladue. They were once the place to go especially one in Richmond heights. But they're drastically declining. I made appointment today and they weren't even there and door was locked. No answer of the phone. And tbh, that was probably in my favor cause I haven't came in so long because the service is trash. This was the worst polish job I have ever received at a mail spa. The filing skill is lacking too. I went here based on reviews. Now I am under the impression that the posts are not true/real. I do not even have the energy to share my experience with my finger nails. I am editing because I am on my way to the shop. I was contacted by Kim the owner on the 7th of February, and today is the day I am available to go. I will update again after. When I arrived I asked for Kim. A lovely spa and experience. The facility is beautiful. My only complaints are that they do not have all the colors they show on their color display. I also dislike that when you pay extra for a foot massage it's a couple of taps on your foot and then it's over. Overall the experience was nice and I do recommend this lovely spa! read more

Thrilled that the new location is finally open and in the neighborhood!!! The new space is lovely...updated and restored turn of the century home spiked with modern decor. It's done very well. Story is the building was sold by Catholic Charities. I entered from Lindell and went around back to pro in the large parking lot. I entered from there. In the main lobby you'll pass a beautiful painted wall with silvers, golds and birds. I thought it was wallpaper! I was quickly seated after using the WC which was immaculate. I sat for about ten minutes and then was quickly waited on by a friendly and jovial technician. The chairs were nice and strong and the pedicure was great. I can't wait to return! read more

I loved the ambience of this location. I will definitely be back. And I appreciate the later evening hours; Especially on the weekend. My manicurist, Ruth, was great. She was very gentle and checked in every once in a while just to make sure I was doing okay. It helped that they have wine to offer customers! I also like that they cover the pedicure bowl in plastic. I can only hope that helps keep the germ probability low. read more

I usually don't write yelp reviews, but I was so appalled by this experience that I just needed to let it out. So to give you context, I am a student and I don't get my nails done often. To be honest, this was the third time and third place I been to. I do not consider myself too particular, I just expect quality if I pay 60 dollars for my nails. And this place is NOT it. Honestly, it was the most expensive and the worst job I have ever experienced. I came in asking for a new set and something that looks natural. Other places I been to would try to thin out the edge of the nails so it would look like a nail, but they did not do that at all. These are the thickest nails ever. They are thicker than the fake nails that you can get at the dollar store. They literally look like I have pasted fake dollar store nails Also it took me a many times to tell her that she filed my nails incredibly unevenly. She would cut them, and file without double checking her work. I had to show her MULTPLE times that my nails were still uneven despite her "fixing them". (like can she not check what she is doing before asking me? Like the nails were ridiculously uneven) The paint job is also horrendous! The whites of my nails are still uneven and bumpy. You can see the brushstrokes on a few fingers. Trust me I made her redo a lot of my nails but her second (sometimes third) time was also terrible. At some point I just gave up. Also, no effort was made to clean out the edges of my fingers AND it is already chipping! It has been less than 2 hours! I can't I paid extra for such an uneven and terrible French tip. I could have just did it at home. While my nails were getting done, she cut my cuticles so close, that it started bleeding especially on my thumb. No apology was given. My tech was very rough, cut 2 of my fingers. The application was uneven and not done very well and they just make excuses and say they don't understand what I'm saying. So I repeat it and explain in another way to clarify and they were very rude, rushed and didn't even disinfect the cuts. read more

Came from out of town was told over the phone it would be $35 when arriving due to me not wanting gel I was told my nails were long and there would be an up charge of $10 ontop of $5 to remove my gel polish. The owner did my nails but somehow three days later the very nail I went to get fixed is now broken. I never ever have this issue where I live. My mail was lifting it was cracked yet this NEW NAIL IS SPLIT ON HALF. The attitude of the owner was disgusting to say the least and the price is a scam for the quality given. Update: dropping another star. At exactly 1 week, I have a broken nail and multiple visible cracks. This is the quality nails I had when doing dip myself. Not worth my money and cannot recommend this place anymore. It pains me a bit to write this. Most of my experiences at this salon have been great! I usually get a dip gel mani every 3 ish weeks and a gel pedi every other trip. The pedicures have all been great! The dip gel is heavily dependent on who your tech is. I've attached some photos of the good and bad. Usually, I get a good tech who takes her time and gives me exactly what I want but there is one who continually rushes through and my nails look awful. I've never had a dip gel mani crack and break, much less in under 1 week of having it! My current nails aren't even a week old and there's visible dimpling, they're lumpy, and my friends have commented how poorly done they look. They feel very thin and I doubt will even make it 2 weeks. Very disappointed in the lack of consistency. read more

At first, they were great! However, the quality of service is going down speedily. Nails started not lasting a full day. I respectfully informed them. They said they would fix it. I came to get them fixed and told them I'd pay for the difference. They charged me for everything and said they'll get with back with me. They never did and started to ignore my messages. Tried to give another chance as I am overforgiving. They assigned someone who was visibly sick to do my nails. He was flushed, sniffing...just looked horrible as if he should be in bed with soup.
