I booked a Garden Goddess combo for myself and my sister, including a facial, paraffin, hot stone, and a 90-minute massage. I tipped $200 and thanked the staff, but I want to share feedback because this business has real potential. Unfortunately, due to several fatal flaws, they've lost a high-value, repeat spa customer who frequently gifts spa experiences. I hope ownership takes this seriously and makes improvements. First, the entrance is difficult to find. There is no clear signage, and the only visible gate says "welcome" but is shut. Once we found the correct entrance, the steps were covered in months of dead leaves, completely obstructing them leaving an unsafe, unprofessional, and ugly entrance. Fixing would cost 5 minutes. Upon entering, we were not greeted warmly or offered water, tea, or wine--standard at this price point. We were simply told to remove our shoes. We had to ask for water, which was served in a tiny cup with no carafe to refill ourselves. The waiting area was visually nice but had absolutely no music, creating an awkward, tense atmosphere instead of relaxing. We arrived early to change into robes, as I confirmed over the phone, but none were offered, we had to ask. The robes were old, worn. It was also 90 degrees, and the AC was off. After an awkward exchange where they said they could turn it on "if we wanted," we said YES but it was never turned on it seems. I discover that music was handled individually by each therapist on their personal phones, which led to interruptions when switching providers. Notifications disrupted the experience, and one therapist clearly didn't review my intake form. I had to stop her mid-session to change the music from loud lo-fi to the healing frequencies I had requested. It made the intake form feel pointless. My facial was extremely disappointing. The esthetician needs severe coaching, she used harsh, fast movements that were stressful rather than relaxing. She used Kleenex on my face, which broke apart during use, and did not fully remove exfoliant before continuing, causing gritty residue to be rubbed into my skin. During the enzyme, she left me alone instead of providing a neck or shoulder massage, which is standard. The paraffin treatment involved an awkward wax-filled glove that was difficult to use and poorly applied. The massage started without consideration of my intake form. The therapist immediately worked on my inner thigh: an area I explicitly marked as off-limits due to a serious injury. I had to stop her. While her technique was otherwise good, she made loud, constant hissing and huffing noises, which were distracting and uncomfortable. Bringing me to the most frustrating issue: I had clearly requested separate rooms when booking, and this was confirmed. Instead, we were placed in the same room without acknowledgment, explanation, or apology. I didn't speak up because I didn't want to disrupt my sister's experience, but this was a major breach of expectation. Upon checkout, the staff member remained seated, made minimal eye contact, and showed little appreciation. The overall customer service felt cold and disengaged. I will not be returning, but I hope this feedback is taken seriously. With better attention to detail, communication, and professionalism, this business could significantly improve and retain customers like me. read more

My experience at Secret Garden and the subsequent customer service honestly deserves less than 1 star rating. My husband and I were referred here by a friend and we decided to treat ourselves to a couples package for our 1st anniversary. Everything was going well until about 10 minutes into our 90 minute massage when a dying fire alarm started going off. Things happen, we totally get it. What surprised us was that the 2 massage therapists didn't stop the massage to turn off the alarm. They spent about 1 minute trying to turn it off with the end of a broom, but gave up and proceeded on with our massage as if a shrill noise wasn't going off for the remaining minutes. Following the massage, the alarm sound wasn't addressed. There was only a small whispered apology during session, but no remediation during or following. We reached out to request a refund for services due to our poor and very non-relaxing experience. We were offered $100 off any future couple's massage (minimum cost of a couples 90 minute massage is $250, mind you), after we had already spent $450 pre-tip on the couples package. This felt insulting to ask us to spend MORE money after we had a bad experience that could have been remedied by taking 5 minutes to change some batteries. Upon asking again for a refund of services, either full refund or refund for the price of the massage, I had to follow up over a week later to get a response and was met with a "well you should have said something" and "you gave a tip, which indicates you were not dissatisfied", as though it is the patrons responsibility to ensure a relaxing environment. This obviously left the most sour of tastes in our mouths, and after seeing the business's response to other poor reviews, it isn't surprising that somehow we would be blamed. For clarification, we tipped because things are so expensive right now and people deserve to be paid for their services, even if it wasn't good. I was raised to tip less for poorer quality service, not to forego the tip altogether. It also feels like common sense that a dying fire alarm is not pleasant or conducive for a spa environment, but that is just me. ​We would have been happy to recieve a voucher for another service or even having 10 minutes less on our massage so they could have fixed the alarm. I HATE to leave a bad review, especially for a local business, but I fear that other potential clients need to be warned that this business, when confronted with issues, will do anything in their power to avoid accountability and place the blame on their customers. I truly hope other patrons don't have a similar experience. read more

Had the birthday package and really enjoyed it. The building itself is beautiful and has that old historic home feel, which made it feel cozy and relaxing right away. The massage was great and the therapist was very attentive. The facial was also really relaxing and well done. Fnished with a hot tub soak, which was perfect on a beautiful spring day with the trees blooming, a nice breeze, tea, and cucumber lemon water. You can hear a little outside traffic and train noise, so it's not a totally silent cocoon type of spa, but it honestly wasn't distracting. Overall, fantastic experience. I've driven by this spot countless times and don't realize it was a massage therapy location, it's right around the corner from our house. I was excited they did couples massages so booked a session for my husband and I on our first wedding anniversary. The place is so cute, and old St. Louis home that's been renovated. The yard is amazing and so adorable. They gave us infused water as we walked in and make us very comfortable. We were massaged by India and Darek and both were fantastic. My husband said Darek did a great job with deep tissue, and India was amazing for me - she massaged at a good pressure for me to really enjoy it but also got into some spots that felt fantastic. She also did a lot of focus on my neck (as requested) and it was amazing. The quickest 90 minutes of my life. They also ended the session with infused water again which I loved. I will mention that we had an initial weird experience. I booked a couples massage for our anniversary on the website and the owner called a couple days before and told me that I'm supposed to make sure two therapists are available that day even though the website says "we will schedule the other therapist for you" and when I tried explain that to her she was condescending towards me. I tried to just have her refund my couples massage since they wouldn't have two therapists but she said there was a fee even though I didn't think I was at fault (I booked a couples massage through their system and it wasn't my fault they didn't have two people working that day). She ended up just telling me she would ask around and ultimately found someone else to massage so it worked out but my husband and I did feel weird about even going after the initial experience we had.
